24/03/2026: The price did not reflect what was served on the plate: the scallops had rings in the scallop meat that hadn't been removed and were overcooked.

26/01/2026: Very small but wonderful restaurant. The escargot was fantastic as was the duck and chocolate fondant. Parking is a little sparse but other than that it serves as a perfect dinner spot.

02/03/2026: Tasteless sandwich. Little to no butter. You're better off buying pre-packaged triangle sandwiches; you won't be disappointed.

28/02/2026: The waitress was incredibly kind, helpful, smiling, and very attentive—a motivated young woman. However, the owner was extremely unpleasant to her waitress, bordering on disrespectful in front of customers, which could be humiliating for the waitress. Given the owner's behavior, which clearly shows a lack of respect for her employees, I do not recommend this place.

21/03/2026: Very good restaurant, lovely setting. The staff are friendly and attentive, and there's a very varied menu. We had a great meal.

06/03/2026: APRIL 2022: Very good. Friendly restaurant, very pleasant and professional staff. The food and presentation were simple yet generous. The prices are affordable. I highly recommend it! JUNE 2024: NEVER AGAIN!!!! In the meantime, the prices have become, in my opinion, excessive for the quality and quantity. On my last visit, I chose a burger with blinis, accompanied by fries and salad... but most importantly, a caterpillar in my burger. The person who apologized to me, however, didn't see fit to waive my payment for my meal, claiming that "I hadn't ordered coffee or dessert." After negotiating, I only received a €5 discount on my meal, which still cost me over €15 (!!)

01/03/2026: The food is just like home cooking, I don't want to give a bad review. But you have to choose your dishes carefully; it's not a restaurant. You should try it, you'll be warmly welcomed, and the starter buffet is quite nice.

21/03/2026: The location is lovely, and everyone knows it. The servers do their best, but it's true that the wait is very long, especially considering it's March and not as crowded as it is in the summer. As for the food, it's excellent. Good quality.

16/11/2024: Firstly, the setting: a very cozy room, tastefully decorated but without overload and an unstoppable view of the sea. A cozy and pleasant atmosphere. The service: nothing to complain about, the staff is discreet and provides good advice with a smile. And finally on your plate: the menu announces fresh products and they are there, a delight. Each bite melts with the flavors on point. To the entire Papagayo team, THANK YOU!!!

12/03/2026: It had been a long time since I'd been to Villers, having lunch at Le Mermoz with a friend. I can just picture some of the faces of those people eating beef tongue with spicy sauce and mashed potatoes... by the sea. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the dish was piping hot. It's very pleasant out of season. In peak season, I avoid it; it's too crowded. (Former Villers resident)

12/03/2026: Passing through Villers-sur-Mer, we were drawn to this place and its lovely location for an afternoon snack. We had two apple juices, which were very good, a Viennese hot chocolate, also very good, and two slices of brioche. We appreciated the ambiance and the location. However, we were surprised by the price of the brioche in particular. It was €10 for two slices of toasted brioche (a little burnt in some places) with a choice of topping (jam or chocolate). I think that for €10, a proper slice of brioche, perhaps French toast style, would be a better option? The place is very nice, but €50 for an afternoon snack is a bit of a turn-off 😬

22/03/2026: Absolutely nothing special. A 50-minute wait for a Caesar salad and a savory buckwheat crepe. And nothing particularly delicious! We won't be back!

14/03/2026: A fantastic experience! The raclette was enormous for two and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The desserts were homemade and delicious, and the wine was perfect. Definitely worth a try if you're ever in Cabourg 🫶

03/04/2026: Highly recommended. Excellent. The scallops were a very refined dish, the ribeye steak was absolutely incredible, the Normandy beef was truly sublime. Top-notch staff.

30/12/2025: A truly seedy bar, whose owner should really consider retiring, she seems so fed up with having customers… the cleanliness of the glasses was questionable… only the waitress was more cheerful, but she seemed to be getting a lot of flak from the owner… it's a shame it's the only bar near the train station…

15/02/2026: A 50-minute wait for two crepes! The first time, we mentioned it after 30 minutes. They forgot to pass on the order; it happens. Then it was another 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes. Finally, the crepes arrived… COLD. The couple sitting across from us had been waiting for their charcuterie board for at least 20 minutes (yes, it had gone from afternoon tea to aperitif time). In short, a huge waste of time.

13/02/2026: This review refers to the restaurant. I don't usually rate anything below four stars, but in this case, the visit left a bad impression, and I think it's only fair to share it. While exploring the area, we noticed the restaurant's attractive exterior and excellent location. However, upon entering, we saw that the tables—at least the interior ones—were very small, to the point of being uncomfortable. We ordered a Faux Filet and the Chef's Suggestion, which was a Ribeye Steak Normandy. The Filet wasn't great, but the worst part was that the Suggestion was one of the worst ribeye steaks I can remember. Tough and with a lot of gristle. The Tarte Tatin was good. The service wasn't particularly attentive or friendly either, except for the receptionist who showed us the way to the restaurant. I hope this review helps them improve, as the location itself is fantastic.
