26/09/2024: Bij het binnenkomen kregen we een hartelijke welkom van de patron . Wat een fijn restaurant met men en vrouw in de zaak . Erg lekker eten en goede menu’s voor weinig geld . We genieten nog na van de café gourmand. Ja we komen terug .

19/01/2025: We had high expectation of a hotel colocated with the best restaurant in town, 2-star Michelin. Big disappointment! The front desk staff was beyond rude. Frommer's guide subtly mentioned that "staff can be gruff"; it's worse. Paid over US$200 (breakfast and parking extra) per night for a minuscule room and a clogged bathtub. The separate toilet room, a gem! When sitting down your knees could easily touch the wall in front. The bathtub was clogged; the caulking cracked and discolored. The attached pictures show the view from our room. A decrepit building in utter disrepair! What a shame!

05/01/2025: I stayed for 1 night with my family on our way to French Alps. We booked 2 rooms: Junior Suite and a Privilege room. We are a large family with 4 kids. We ended up paying EUR 600 for 2 rooms! This is excluding breakfast!!! The Junior Suite had a small foldable sofa, which once unfolded blocks the way to the toilet. Both rooms were quite small. We had our rooms on the 3rd floor. You had to take a lift to 2nd floor first, then take the stairs, then a long corridor. They also charged extra for a small foldable bed for a small kid. Resume: more like a 3*** hotel, not a 4. Way overpriced (for comparison I paid almost 1/2 for 2 great rooms at Melia Luxembourg). The only nice thing about this hotel is location.

26/01/2025: Second time i had lunch here, even better than the 1st time. Just a really good reataurant.

16/12/2024: The person who served us was in the oven and at the mill but full of good will. Some faults noted at the service level. On the other hand, the plate... I understand why the people of the Michelin guide chose this restaurant. The wine list is also exceptional of course.

25/11/2025: Excellent! The only downside was that I asked for some fries to try and was charged an extra €6...without being told beforehand! Expensive fries!!!

14/11/2025: A beautiful establishment, steeped in history and tastefully decorated. The home-style cooking is excellent; the calf's head is superb, the freshwater fish dishes are delicious, and the desserts are delightful. The wine list is lovely and original. The place looks very inviting for a drink with friends and a few board games. All this in the picturesque heart of Semur-en-Auxois, a small town we love. We will be back.

06/09/2024: Repas copieux et personnel sympathique. Mais 2eme partie de notre repas en terrasse gâché par la fumée des cigarettes qui a rapidement pollué cet espace terrasse bâché plafond et côtés. La seule porte ouverte permettait soi-disant de classer cette terrasse "ouverte", explication qui ne nous a pas convaincus. Dommage, ça aurait pu être une soirée agréable.

The selection is large and ranges from classic croissants to savory versions and sweet treats. The quality of the baked goods is excellent – ​​always fresh and well prepared. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, ideal for a short break. The staff is friendly and makes you feel completely comfortable. A great cafe for anyone who loves French delicacies!

18/09/2024: No bad surprises, quite the contrary! We were very well received. The 3 formulas (even in the evening!) offer sufficient choice. For €30 for two, including 1/2 wine, a coke, and unlimited water, we can only praise the excellent value for money. The buffets are stocked and replenished throughout the evening, the bread is delicious.

16/11/2024: We came as a family with a stroller, and upon entering, the welcome from the manager was hostile to say the least: an unpleasant comment about the presence of children immediately set the tone. Perhaps a misunderstanding or a lack of humor, but that has already tarnished our arrival. Then, although the restaurant promoted mussels and fries as a weekend specialty, they were no longer available. One more disappointment. As for drinks, the wine served iced suggests that it is stored with the fresh products – a detail which shows an obvious lack of care. Finally, the main course, a beef bourguignon, was simply inedible: fat, gristle and ridiculously small portions. An emblematic dish, however, wasted here. The only positive point: the dining room staff, pleasant and efficient waitresses, who save the experience a little.

21/01/2025: Great restaurant, nice service, reasonable prices. Wines by the glass very special. Unfortunately I still had to drive in a lot of fog. 😪 Almost a reason to come back for that alone.
