02/08/2024: Very good restaurant with fresh and generous produce 😊

01/08/2024: We had dinner with the family at this restaurant during our road trip in Europe. We cannot speak a single word of French but the staff was very welcoming and got us to practice to order in the local language (but in a very friendly way). The food was great (we tried hamburger, chicken and steak fries) and we had a lovely Bourgogne from the neighborhood. And without a doubt, it was the best fries I ever had 😅. Dessert was awesome as well (crème brûlée and chocolate fondant).

08/09/2024: While passing through we had breakfast at the hotel. Top welcome and very nice, well-diversified buffet.

13/08/2024: Beautiful place for a meal, or a break, in the shade of the trees. Friendly waiters 👍 and for your children the park is right opposite 👨‍👩‍👦🚲🚶🛝

26/09/2024: Agréablement surprit du retour de l ancien chef depuis fevrier qui nous rapporte de nouveau ses menus du jours originaux , copieux et surtout fait maison ..semi gastro je dirais .. Sa tête de veau gribiche ..ses grenouilles etc....mmmm merci

18/08/2024: Beaune has exceptional restaurants and La Benaton is one that sits comfortably in that category. The food is absolutely delicious and is Michelin Star worthy. The service is excellent but you do need to keep an eye on over zealous wine pouring waiters, who top you up constantly, which can leave you with the impression that you are being rushed through a bottle of wine. The restaurant is quiet and had an air of exclusivity, lacking a warmth and vibrancy which may dissuade young foodies from visiting, which would be a great shame as the food is absolutely superb. Dog friendly and well worth a visit!

30/08/2024: We used the pass time offer, one room + two meals + two breakfasts The room was very good, the outdoor swimming pool was too small to enjoy it, the gym was also too small. The restaurant was excellent! There was a lack of choice for breakfast, which is a shame.

15/08/2024: From time to time, there are incredible good surprises just a few steps from his house. This is the case with the Golden Lion. Don't be fooled by the appearance of its facade, it's not just a simple country tobacco shop, take the trouble to open the front door and ask for a table. Already because the establishment hides a beautiful restaurant tastefully decorated in the spirit of the old house which houses it. Then because the staff is pleasant and dynamic, you don't have to wait hours to be served. But above all because the cuisine is very good, original, with fresh products and the plates are generous. The prices are rather high and this is the only negative point of the establishment. I highly recommend and will happily return.

26/07/2024: The food is good but I didn’t like that they had the picture of the Virgin Mary in the toilet. It is disrespectful and inappropriate. Shame that it ruined the experience.

20/09/2024: Quality dishes with seasonal products so a menu that varies with the seasons very delicious with a more than honest value for money I recommend however it is very small so be careful to reserve and have time.

05/09/2024: No. Is private property without any markings at the entrance. Hands off, it's not worth the trip. As is often the case, a lot of aggressive dogs come towards you. Photos are not helpful. The access is a disastrous dirt road.

14/09/2024: Dårlig dårlig oplevelse. Arrogant betjening, som var sure over vi ikke bestilte forret. Hovedret ventede vi 1,5 time på og da maden kom var det forkert og de sidste måtte vente 30 min mere

06/09/2024: We looked forward to an excellent meal, but it was average. Complimentary gougeres arrived promptly as appetisers, which were tasty. We had the choice of two dishes for starters. We chose to share the pesto stuffed fresh tomato with a brillat savarin based sauce. This was fresh and tasty and beautifully presented. Choice of two mains, I chose the sea bream in a crunchy coating with pureed carrot & crunchy carrot strips. Potato frites were also served, but they could have been crisper. We shared the nectarine dessert, which was pleasant. The presentation of each dish was good, but a lot of the meal did not have the extra flavour that my lunch companion and I expected. The restaurant was well patronised, the staff were efficient & helpful but we'd come with high hopes from reading reviews but we left a little disappointed.

27/08/2024: This is another address that I will not soon forget, from the welcome to the patio which houses a pretty terrace, from the creative, tasty dishes, with original flavors to the dessert, for us a basil mousse, tomato en trompe l' eye on a parmesan shortbread, everything was perfect, an extra note for the wines by the glass, in short nothing to complain about either in terms of the services or the price. An address to absolutely try if you pass by here...

20/08/2024: Very good and cheap hotel. Trains didn't bother me. Restaurant top level. Excellent cuisine, attentive service and a great wine list. All highly recommended. Gladly again

17/08/2024: A hotel with budget rooms at a very good price (but good room), run very professionally with attention paid to leftovers to avoid waste. And above all, EXCELLENT cuisine in the restaurant!! The hotel is well located. The only potential downsides but which did not bother us: the passing of trains nearby and the village bell which rings from 7am.

13/08/2024: Nous avons réservé à la dernière minute, avons repoussé notre heure d'arrivée à 21h15. La propriétaire nous a attendu alors que nous étions la seule table... Accueil "maison" très sympathique, comme si nous nous connaissions. Nous avons très bien mangé. Adresse à retenir pour passer un bon moment devant une assiette garnie et goûteuse.

30/04/2024: Ok, we'll have to come back down to earth... the products are certainly good and fresh (thanks to the chef) but that doesn't exempt you from being friendly and welcoming. Paying so much for 3 shrimp and 2 oysters fighting a duel seems excessive to me. Looking down on customers for the slightest request is anti-commercial. I asked for fries, I felt like a *** but excuse me, I'm Breton, and fries and seafood, I ate them all over the coast, and fresh ones. We regret the craving (rue Jeannin). Ps: If you don’t like people, change jobs! Avoid unless you like shrimp at €5 each
