06/12/2025: Although the place was closed for the whole month of December(!) the restaurant was still taking online bookings through The Fork. When we arrived and realised there wasn’t any chairs nor tables we knew something was badly wrong. A lady came out of the kitchen, barely apologetic, and told us to go and check elsewhere for dinner. She didn’t seem phased to know I had submitted my credit card details to secure a ghost reservation. Completely and utter waste of our time. Chefs-led operations might be the promise of good food but this is called the HOSPITALITY industry for a reason. That’s what happens, unfortunately, when businesses don’t put their customers at the centre of their strategy.

05/10/2025: One of the best and most creative menus we've ever eaten. Very unusual with extraordinary combinations. French cuisine refined by a top Japanese chef. I don't understand why he hasn't received a star from the Michelin Guide yet. Cuisine of the highest caliber.

26/04/2026: Disappointed by the menu and the reality! The menu listed 5 appetizers, 5 main courses, and 5 desserts. Once seated, we were told that due to a change of ownership (what's the connection?), the choice was limited to 2 options displayed on a chalkboard.

11/04/2026: For our Golden Wedding Anniversary, we hired Les Festins de Marsannay. We had a complete service: setup, linens, tableware, meal, and service, all in our village hall. During the planning, we were assisted by the team, who provided relevant and professional advice. For the reception, we opened the hall to the team, and they took care of everything. The table settings and arrangements were magnificent. The cocktail reception featured exquisite canapés. The meal was perfect. The service was quick, efficient, and very professional. The cuisine and the kitchen staff were top-notch. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank the entire team at Les Festins de Marsannay once again for their excellent service.

28/12/2025: Ordered for 9 people, small portions from the appetizer to the main course, and a frozen yule log for dessert… Very average quality for the price! I don't recommend it, disappointed 😞

23/02/2026: We enjoyed a stay in an idyllic setting, steeped in history and with undeniable potential. The property is old and very beautiful, but would benefit from better maintenance: some elements unfortunately give an impression of being outdated, particularly the grounds which seem neglected during the winter months. The room, although clean and equipped with quality bedding, is rather small for an establishment of this standard. We were also surprised by the lack of a minibar and by the in-room amenities, which were not up to 4-star standards, especially considering the price of €315 per night including breakfast, which we found high (plastic water bottle, no welcome biscuits, bleach-stained carpet). The welcome was mixed: while Patricia at reception was particularly friendly and professional, we were disappointed by the lack of staff for about 15 minutes upon our arrival, even though our booking was known (spa reservation at 3 pm). Conversely, the owner was particularly unwelcoming, even unpleasant. The spa, however, deserves special mention: Karen literally saved the experience. The treatment was a magical moment, delivered with great professionalism, at a very reasonable price. She is a real asset to the establishment and fully deserves to be recognized. The lovely bathroom and the breakfast, featuring homemade products, are also strong points. We didn't try the restaurant, but the dining room is exceptional and definitely makes you want to return to experience its cuisine. In short, a place with undeniable charm and a strong character, boasting wonderful human qualities, which would nevertheless benefit from improving certain service and maintenance standards to fully live up to its ambitions and its rating.

19/02/2026: We had a suite in an annex. The whole place was quite outdated and the cleaning wasn't done properly. The restaurant experience wasn't pleasant. We had a small table in the passageway by the entrance and the staff were rather inattentive. We were freezing during our massage. The parking lot behind the hotel, near the fields, is poorly designed and offers no security. You then have to cross a garden to get back to the rooms. The parking lot in front is reserved for the restaurant, so most guests park on the street. We found a hamburger patty in the refrigerator in our room... The receptionist came to remove it, but it was a potential source of contamination, and the appliance should have been checked during housekeeping. In short, the hotel is expensive for what it offers.

14/04/2026: A very bad experience at this restaurant. We waited over an hour before being served. Furthermore, no one offered us an aperitif; we had to ask for it ourselves, which already gave the impression of inattentive service. As for the food, it was a huge disappointment. The burgers were clearly not homemade: they were simply an assembly of industrial products. Whether it was the chicken nuggets or the pulled pork ones, everything seemed frozen and of poor quality. The same was true for the desserts, which were also industrial and tasteless. To make matters worse, there were mistakes with the dishes when they were served. And instead of taking responsibility, we were simply told that "it was the kitchen's fault." This kind of remark is completely inappropriate and clearly lacks professionalism. The service did nothing to redeem the situation; quite the opposite. The waiter didn't know the dishes, seemed annoyed by our questions, and gave the impression that we were bothering him. At one point, he was eating bread right in the middle of the room, in front of the customers, which is far from professional. In short, nothing went right from beginning to end. I absolutely do not recommend it.

21/03/2026: Fresh products and very pleasant service, the staff go out of their way to help. I recommend it!

07/12/2025: Our experience, after a night spent at the Hôtel de Bourgogne in Saulieu, included a very pleasant exchange with our host. While the room was admittedly rustic, the bedding was impeccable. Impersonal hotel chains are not for us. We had a delightful encounter with the owner. It all started with a Cuiralatre counterweighted rotisserie that stood proudly in one of the dining rooms. We also learned about the creation of Courtepaille in Burgundy by Jean Loisier, the brand's founder. We learned a great deal and wish him well in passing on the torch; a lifetime of experience is priceless! One night from December 6th to 7th.

22/03/2026: We had a box... what a shame, I would have loved to have frog legs then. We'll be back. We ate well and the Époisses sauce on our escalope was delicious. The crème caramel was also very good. The owner seems gruff at first, but not at all, we had a good laugh. She's reserved but not vulgar... you just have to be patient. We'll definitely be back.
