Start from the first floor and ascend slowly. From religious perspectives to historical figures, the painting techniques evolve. From still lifes to portraits to historical events, the clothing of the figures also changes. From afar, you can see the overall composition and color scheme of the paintings. But upon closer inspection, you can discover subtle expressions and the lines of muscle extension. Each painting can easily take up your time. Before you know it, an afternoon has passed, yet you still feel like you haven't had enough. A visit is highly recommended. Museum History🏛️: In 1825, the Montpellier painter François-Xavier Fabre donated his art collection (a large number of paintings and drawings, etc.) to his hometown of Montpellier, prompting the local city council to establish a museum dedicated to collecting and displaying these works. This is the origin of the Fabre Museum's establishment and name. Another prominent collector and donor was Alfred Bruyas (1821-1877), who donated approximately 200 paintings and drawings. The museum officially opened to the public in 1828 and underwent a major renovation in the early 21st century (2003-2007), enhancing its exhibition space and modernizing its facilities. It is currently one of the most important museums in France and Europe. P.S. A small supplement: François-Xavier Fabre, a native of Montpellier, spent most of his life in Italy (Florence). Through painting and connections, he gradually amassed a large collection of classic Italian paintings.

23/01/2026: A truly excellent restaurant! A culinary escape: delicious tagine and couscous. The restaurant's ambiance is very pleasant, as is the service. They even offered a complimentary mint tea. I highly recommend this restaurant; it deserves to be better known!

17/03/2026: We came for the restaurant… and left with an extra birthday souvenir! Thank you for your warm welcome, your kindness, and the wonderful attention to detail for my wife's birthday. The food was superb, the staff lovely: everything was perfect. See you very soon!

14/03/2026: We had lunch there yesterday. I hadn't eaten so badly in a long time: a beef fillet with pepper sauce, a sauce made almost entirely of cornstarch and completely tasteless, accompanied by old broccoli – you could clearly see it wasn't fresh – and an egg soufflé colored red with who-knows-what, which looked disgusting and had no flavor whatsoever. My husband ordered lamb, dry and old, not good at all. He had to go to the bathroom; he had diarrhea and vomited. In short, everything was great; it was the last time we'd ever go there. The ambiance is outdated too; the side blinds are full of holes, as if mice had gnawed through them. In the summer, the side blinds are always down and, of course, look quite impressive then. As a restaurant owner, I would be ashamed to subject my customers to that.

08/03/2026: A trendy and very pleasant spot, complete with shows and talks. It's a shame the food is rather basic and uninteresting. Nevertheless, the place is worth a visit for the atmosphere!

The Gazette Café offers intimate, high-quality concerts with carefully designed acoustics and a genuine connection to the artists. Here, you listen, you feel, you share. The photo exhibitions—like “Black (and White) Music”—showcase the attention paid to highlighting the artists and their perspectives. The atmosphere is warm, the welcome is simple and genuine, and you immediately feel at ease. An ideal place to enjoy a concert without stress, discover new talent, and spend an authentic evening. A wonderful cultural destination in Montpellier.

09/03/2026: Fantastic welcome, the staff are incredibly attentive, and the receptionist is always smiling. There's a great atmosphere on weekends with music and a variety of entertainment, as well as meals worthy of a casino. As for the slot machines, they're rare, but they're fun, and the payout rate is reasonable, unlike many other casinos in the area! Even though it's a bit of a drive, we'll gladly return regularly.

The cuisine is refined and original, presented with flair and skill. The local wines are delightful, and we eagerly await spring to enjoy lunch on the terrace! Excellent value for money.

24/02/2026: A unique and magnificent experience of flavors and tastes. The dishes are masterpieces. The mother and son provide impeccable service. The father and other son take our taste buds and eyes on a journey. The view of the port is breathtaking. The decor is luxurious. The restrooms are clean and comfortable. The only downside is the somewhat rushed service of the courses... I highly recommend this establishment.

04/03/2026: Lunch at work. Quick order. Fast service and generous portions. I was able to request a different dessert as I don't eat pineapple. I chose a set menu: starter, main course, and dessert. The price was very reasonable. The only downside was the excessive dressing on the salads, but otherwise, it was very tasty and well-presented.
