A special mention goes to our waiter, Ilyes, who was absolutely fantastic: smiling, pleasant, and very attentive without being intrusive. It was a pleasure to receive such a warm welcome. We'll definitely be back!

13/07/2026: Having eaten there several times, I can assure you that the food is excellent (good value for money). The ingredients are fresh and cooked with passion (the combinations are complex...). The service is top-notch (discreet yet attentive staff). And the best part, which might make you laugh... the restrooms are very clean, and you surely know the saying... Clean restrooms, good food! 22/07/2026: A must-visit in the heart of Candes-Saint-Martin! A truly charming spot, nestled between the Loire and Vienne rivers, at the foot of the village's magnificent collegiate church. It's easy to see why this stop on the Camino de Santiago has such a renowned reputation. In the kitchen, Chef Paloma is simply exceptional. Her creativity and precision are evident in every dish, showcasing local produce, and everything is homemade! Truly vibrant and heartfelt cuisine. In the dining room, Caroline and Ludovic make a delightful duo: welcoming, smiling, polite, and exceptionally kind. They give this place a warm atmosphere; you immediately feel at ease. A place not to be missed if you're in the area; you'll leave wanting to return very soon!

21/07/2026: You won't find an experience like L’Auberge anywhere else in France. Ludo and Caro are wonderful owners who have a passion for wine and food. Everything is taken care of down to the last detail, the wines are fantastic, and I haven't even mentioned the amazing food yet! We ate here two days in a row because we loved it so much. We are definitely coming back next year. Both for the food and for Caro and Ludo ❤️

This restaurant, just 20 minutes from Tours, is definitely worth the detour. Don't hesitate to drive there to discover this gem; you won't regret it!

23/07/2026: The atmosphere was very calm and pleasant. We came using a gift card, which included a six-course menu. However, despite the skillful preparation of the dishes, we found them lacking in originality and too focused on game. Nevertheless, the staff was friendly.

The dishes were delicious, beautifully presented, and made with high-quality ingredients. However, we did find that there was a certain repetitiveness in the citrus flavors throughout the meal, which sometimes diminished the element of surprise. I also greatly appreciated the attention paid to my pregnancy, with some menu items adapted so I could fully enjoy the experience. This thoughtful touch deserves to be highlighted. A truly excellent restaurant that we are happy to recommend.

The cuisine, featuring fresh, local ingredients, won us over, from the creamy risotto to the homemade sausage with mustard-seed potatoes. We thoroughly enjoyed it! We savored the cheese platter in the order recommended by the owner. As for the chocolate mousse with apricots, mint leaves, and fleur de sel: a delight for a gourmand like myself. The portions were generous without being excessive. A true gem. A wonderful recommendation that was given to us and that we, in turn, are passing on…

19/07/2026: Superb restaurant, unbeatable value for money, and you can taste the work and passion behind every dish, both refined and delicious. There are always vegetarian options for starters and main courses, which is a welcome change from far too many other places. Sometimes you just don't want meat or fish. The wine list is excellent, featuring quality local wines as well as superb selections from elsewhere. It would be very difficult, if not impossible, to find better for the price.

27/07/2026: A very good restaurant just steps from the castle. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent, with the added bonus of bike information consoles about the region.

25/07/2026: We received a warm welcome and the food was absolutely delicious: tagliatelle with zucchini and mussels, black pudding and foie gras tartines, fries cooked in beef fat, country salad, and tomato and burrata. The team even prepared a charcuterie board the size of a plate to accommodate our child's appetite. Thank you again! And the gourmet coffee is truly decadent! Don't miss it!

01/08/2026: Undoubtedly one of the most spectacular châteaux in the Loire Valley, the building itself, the quality of the collections, and its setting (gardens and forests) are all breathtaking. A little tip: it's best to book for the first few hours of opening to fully enjoy the tranquility of the château and gardens and avoid the influx of tourist buses that quickly make the place unbearable.
