09/09/2024: We had a great evening on the terrace. The service is pleasant. The plates are generous and tasty. (Slight downside for the foie gras crème brulée without much interest). Special mentions for the aumonière of black pudding, Roquefort and apple fruit and for the Chinese-style beef cheek with its slice of pan-fried foie gras!!!
It is prudent to reserve

15/08/2024: The setting is magnificent in the heart of the old stones of the town of Chinon.
The dishes are good but some are a little below what you would expect from a gourmet restaurant.
We had few explanations when serving the dishes.
The wait was horribly long
We had our main course more than two hours after our arrival.

Starter, main course, dessert formula at €28.90.
Starter: octopus salad and main course: cod fillet with herb crust, wok vegetables. Very good and very fine with a beautiful delicate presentation.
Dessert: lemon meringue tart, an incredible revisit.
I like this style of cooking that is elaborate, but not too sophisticated, with real thought put into enhancing the products, which are also of high quality. The cooking of the fish was excellent, meltingly tender with a perfect sauce.
The staff is very welcoming and very kind.
Thanks for the experience 🙏, we will be back very soon.

26/05/2024: Looking for a restaurant on rue Colbert, and being a big burger fan. I decided to try this restaurant. And that's the shock😱😋😍😄👍👍!!! On the one hand the burgers are simply exquisite with certain original recipes. But in addition the prices are relatively low compared to the product served (of impeccable quality). And as if that were not enough the servers are friendly and attentive. listen to it. I can only recommend and wish you an experience as good as me, in other words on a journey to the heart of the deepest flavors of the burger.😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

Ce restaurant restera ouvert une partie toute l'année et mérite d'être découvert.
09/09/2024: Lovely spot in front of the church (which you should go in and visit as it's very impressive). Food was high quality and good value. I had salmon starter and 7hr cooked lamb confit for the main and both were fantastic. Our waitress was lovely and also spoke English if French isn't your language). You will definitely need to book for Friday/Saturday evenings, you might get lucky for lunch service. Total bill for 3 was 102 euros (2 courses each and 2 glasses of wine). If you need parking there is a car park on the left just after you cross the bridge coming into Candes and from there it's a less than a 5 minute walk.

01/10/2024: Un charmant petit restaurant dans lequel on se régale de produits frais et sublimés par un excellent chef. L'accueil est souriant et chaleureux. On se sent bien dans cet endroit et nos papilles explorent des saveurs subtiles. Nous recommandons sans réserves.
28/09/2024: This restaurant is so incredible that we went both evenings we were in Amboise. We found it in the Rick Steve’s guidebook. We loved everything about this restaurant including the music, the food, the wine, the decor, and the service. One hopes that travel will bring experiences and memories that will continue to enrich our lives. This is the place for that. My first night back, I recreated the entree with help from Julia Child. I’m also about to decorate a wall in my flat with ceiling medallions and decorate my mantle in similar styles i saw here. Service with beauty, grace, and style is something im going to emulate too. Merci beaucoup to the people that make this restaurant so beautiful.

11/09/2024: This is how you imagine a French restaurant. Call it Bistro or Brasserie, who cares. Simply a very successful combination of a beautiful, traditional restaurant, a nice menu, good daily suggestions and reasonable prices. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable, although they do fly around the place in a very whirlwind manner. Fast service is fine, but a little less ADHD is welcome. Otherwise a wonderful thing.

07/09/2024: Restaurant that I have known for a very long time. While passing through, I had the curiosity to return there on the way between Blois and Nantes. It's always a magnificent place, enhanced by its cuisine, a super friendly welcome... Women in the kitchen and men serving 😊

15/09/2024: Ontzettend vriendelijke bediening ; lunchmenu = kleine kaart= superlekker, lekkere smaken en democratische prijs aan ingang kasteel ; bij mooi weer kan je rustig buiten eten ; aanbod van lekkere lokale wijnen .
12/09/2024: Restaurant conseillé parmi d'autres par notre hôtelier. Nous n'avons pas été déçus.
Plats faits maison avec des produits frais, et cela se sent. Carte qui varie en fonction des livraisons. Mets fins et présentation efficace.
Personnel attentif et sympathique, donnant de bons conseils notamment par rapport à la carte des vins.
Petite salle mais possibilité terrasse en fonction du temps.

01/09/2024: Wonderful! The most fun we’ve had dining in Loire thus far. Better flavors and presentations than the Michelin starred restaurants we’ve had during our trip in Loire. Such a delicious, creative and fun evening! The space was beautiful and staff and service were excellent. Highly recommend.
