11/12/2025: Great restaurant find! Warm and friendly welcome. Excellent home cooking… go without hesitation, you'll leave with a smile on your face ;) I personally had a stew and snails, and for dessert, a raspberry and pastis flan… a real discovery!

14/11/2025: The service was appalling, as usual. They don't even know the words "hello" or "thank you." They're clearly only pleasant with their friends. The two people who worked that evening would have been better off managing a prison.

31/03/2026: I recommend this restaurant after a problem my partner and I had with the staff at Buffalo Grill. Restaurant Léon welcomed us and provided excellent service. We were served by a very kind, friendly, professional, and above all, polite and courteous waiter, unlike the staff at Buffalo Grill. To this day, I recommend this restaurant and the waiter.

26/03/2026: An excellent experience from start to finish! We had a wonderful time at Léon in Clermont-Ferrand. The welcome was warm, the team was friendly and very professional, which immediately put us at ease. The dishes were truly delicious. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the care taken with each plate, with a focus on fresh and expertly prepared seafood specialties. The atmosphere was friendly and pleasant, perfect for a meal with friends, family, or even as a couple. I highly recommend this place for great food and a wonderful time in Clermont-Ferrand! 👍

09/03/2026: We ordered two salads and a pizza to take away, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The pizza was truly mediocre: very thin and dry crust, very sparsely topped, and lacking in flavor. As for the salads, the chicken was extremely dry, making the dish difficult to enjoy. For the price we paid, the quality was clearly lacking. It's a shame because we expected better. We unfortunately don't think we'll be recommending this restaurant.

24/02/2026: We stopped there with the kids: great crepes, delicious mulled wine. Super friendly service. We'll be back! And we did go back: the daily special "Faut filet" for €9.90. The meat was perfect, and so was the blue cheese sauce. Now that's a restaurant!

09/02/2026: The manager needs to be reminded that since 1991, carrying cash is no longer mandatory. (This will prevent him from spouting nonsense while thinking he's a lawyer). If the manager wants to impose a minimum amount for card payments, this requirement must be clearly displayed in the establishment (in this case, the bar) and not just in front of the card reader. This allows customers who only have their phones to pay to avoid spending money in the bar. In this establishment, NOTHING is indicated until you're standing right in front of the card reader and facing a bartender who seems to have a white belt in law. The manager is also quite amusing when he talks about "the establishment's policy" instead of saying it's "my policy," since he introduces himself as the boss afterward... This was a very bad experience during my visit to this "bar."

15/02/2026: The service is useful, but the attitude of the staff completely discourages any desire to return. With a warmer welcome, this place could be a real asset to the local community. Unfortunately, that's its main weakness right now!

06/03/2026: I ordered an Auvergne salad and for me it was absolutely not that, there was very little salad, a lot of cold cuts, huge pieces of cheese, and something that looked like a mimosa egg, very sickening, if I had wanted cold cuts I would have asked for a plate of cold cuts, on the other hand my husband's meal was very decent: oysters with spinach, meat and fries, but something bothered him as he vomited when he got home, quite a hefty price.

14/11/2025: Excellent food, generous portions, and the charm of a dining room with a fireplace. We weren't able to enjoy the outdoor seating this time of year, but the tables by the river make us want to return in the warmer months.

20/02/2026: Very good restaurant with generous portions, pleasant setting, beautiful cheese platter, very good value for money. Future truck stop for the AFTRAL Moulins (French Association of Transport Users).

The owner's warm welcome, the excellent menu, the chef's surprises, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff all combined to ensure the members had a wonderful time in the tradition of the Armed Forces. Without flattery, we thank you for the quality of your welcome. We will be back!
