05/05/2026: On a Saturday afternoon, we arrived for lunch at La Tête Noire restaurant in Marnes-la-Coquette. Service was prompt, and we were among the first to order. The quality of the food was quite average, more in keeping with the standards of a brasserie/bistro with constant service. Small scallops, simply fried, with a plain, unimaginative mashed potatoes. Eggplant with ham on top. The elevated atmosphere of the dining room, the table setting, the staff's ceremonious manner, and the abundance of decorations raised expectations of fine cuisine, but the reality turned out to be a simple brasserie. It's important to note that this is the only "restaurant" in the area. Perhaps there's not enough competition. It could be better!

05/05/2026: Lunch on the terrace in the shade of the trees; the terrace is quiet and very pleasant. The pâté to share was very good. The duck breast was cooked perfectly. The rhubarb crumble of the day was delicious. The service was friendly and very efficient.

27/05/2026: A terrible experience at this brasserie. They clearly have no idea what food intolerances are. I ordered a plain salmon steak, but it arrived covered in a packet of cream. I had to send it back to the kitchen, and it was returned with the cream removed... Appalling. Even their homemade fries weren't tasty.

26/05/2026: It had been at least five years since I'd last eaten there, but I was really keen to go back. The welcome and service were a bit lacking in friendliness, which is a shame. The menu offers enough variety for everyone to find something they like. And in terms of choice and price, I think the all-you-can-eat option is quite reasonable. However, there are three courses, and I recommend not eating everything in the first one and coordinating with your table about who's eating what, because the restaurant prefers to throw things away rather than give you the leftovers, which is frankly a shame in 2026. As for the food, the sushi was hot and the spring rolls were cold, but everything was still good. The chicken salad and chicken rice were really, really good.

18/05/2026: For all-you-can-eat food, the quality is excellent, unlike other restaurants offering this type of deal. Everything is cooked fresh each time, preventing waste. I highly recommend it.

The atmosphere is warm and friendly, truly capturing the spirit of a neighborhood brasserie where you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. The staff is welcoming and smiling, and the service is efficient. The dishes are generous and well-prepared, with a special mention for the meats and the traditional Southwestern specialties. The terrace is lovely, the atmosphere is great, and the value for money is very reasonable. A really cool place to spend a great time with friends or family, with a truly authentic atmosphere that's becoming increasingly rare. I highly recommend it! 👍
