25/08/2026: What a shame that such a lovely place, ideally located at the foot of the slopes, is marred by such poor service. My husband and I stopped by simply for a snack and to enjoy the surroundings. Unfortunately, we were greeted in an extremely cold and unpleasant manner: no smiles, no friendliness, our order practically placed in front of us as if we were intruding. The waffle was served on a small plate, without cutlery, with just a napkin. The coffee was really not good either. As for the prices, we paid €11 for a coffee, a waffle with jam, and a small bottle of Cristaline water, which cost €3. Beyond the price, it was the attitude that disappointed us most. When you run an establishment in such a touristy and beautiful location as Alpe d'Huez, a minimum of smiles, politeness, and consideration for customers seems essential. I prefer not to draw any conclusions about why we were received in this way, but the contrast between this beautiful place and the attitude of the person who served us is truly regrettable. A very bad experience for us, and we will not be returning. And we certainly do not recommend it!

18/08/2026: A nice place where we just had a drink. Friendly and warm welcome. An ideal spot for a drink after a downhill run on a tricycle...or mountain bike.

14/07/2026: The portion was far too small for the price; our orders were given to us without bags, and they provided us with sauces that were at least two months past their expiration date.

07/06/2026: A very pleasant restaurant with a great service team and chef. Special mention for the dessert, which I found to be a real success. This establishment is well worth a visit for lunch or dinner.

06/05/2026: On May 6, 2026, my husband and I came to try the kebabs. We found the sandwiches very good and the meat wasn't greasy. We received a very warm welcome. The restaurant is clean and the sandwich sizes are quite standard. The purpose of this review is to respond to previously read criticisms in order to provide an objective assessment.

20/08/2026: Finally, some home-style cooking! The spring rolls are delicious, the salads fragrant, the meat delicious, and the portions generous.

11/08/2026: Terrible experience, avoid this place! I came with my partner and ordered pork spring rolls with salad to start our meal. I was shocked to find maggots infesting the salad. Seeing the kitchen door open, I noticed the cook putting uneaten salad from another customer onto other plates, which I find completely unhygienic. Furthermore, part of my spring roll was cold, so I suspect that in addition to not washing their food, it's frozen for months before being sold. They should probably also clean their ventilation system, because leaving this restaurant and smelling of fried food on your clothes means you have to change before going anywhere else. Honestly, avoid this place; you have nothing to lose!

12/08/2026: Hello, I often stop at this bakery, and unfortunately, the sandwich selection is limited, especially the sandwiches for the €5 "smart deal" are often unavailable. It's a real shame, as it's a very convenient, low-priced option. I asked the cashier, who was quite haughty, why they didn't have any sandwiches. She replied that it was the holidays. So apparently, the €6 sandwiches are available, but the small sandwiches for the "smart deal" are not during the holidays. Something to think about!

19/02/2026: Absolutely avoid this place! After my third visit, I'm just as disappointed! The quality is truly mediocre for the prices! You're much better off choosing the pizza or burger places in the area!

19/02/2026: The waitress was friendly but embarrassed by her own boss! It's awkward to tell the person doing the payroll that it's the customers who fill the tills. McDonald's is better value for money than this very, very mediocre establishment in my opinion.

10/09/2026: Best pastry shop in Grenoble. Exceptionally professional service, whatever your request (traditional pastries or custom entremets). The quality is also top-notch, always excellent. Highly recommended.

28/08/2026: I never imagined I'd one day be writing a negative review for Les Écrins on Rue de Bonne. I've been going there at least once a week for over 20 years, for lunch, for afternoon tea, often with friends, or alone. We won't be going back. I'm always polite and smiling, and I can understand that if you haven't chosen a career in customer service, you might not feel like smiling. But this is becoming intolerable. For a little over a year now, a strange team led by a waitress barely thirty years old with light eyes and a disrespectful attitude has been running rampant: lukewarm water served with cake or ice cream, tables left cluttered and dirty even when the place is a third full while the team laughs and chats in the back, having to ask twice in 20 minutes for a knife and fork to eat a quiche and being yelled at from behind... Head waiter: "Yessss!!!! I heard!" To be told at the till, in front of everyone: "If you want an extra plastic bag, it will be on top of the bill." I had nearly 30 euros worth of pastries, plus the tea room with my granddaughters. We now regret not being able to return to this pastry shop, for the quality of the cakes, for the bright atmosphere, for the memory of excellent times when the manager, who has unfortunately been often absent* for the past few months, and the waitress, who retired 3 or 4 years ago, were working there. There's still the Les Écrins pastry shop on Rue Montorge, same quality, professional and smiling manager and staff, but it's hard to change locations. It's a shame; it's difficult to run a business, so when you have to deal with insolent and aggressive people as a customer, it's just not acceptable. My comment doesn't concern three people: the African woman who serves ice cream outside, the Asian woman who smiles when the junior manager is busy, and of course the manager herself, a professional with expertise but unfortunately often absent. *When the cat's away, the mice will play.

03/09/2026: We used to come regularly and had never had a problem before. But this time, after accidentally breaking a glass and apologizing, the waiter's behavior was frankly disappointing. There was no need to speak to customers that way. It was an evening that definitely made us not want to come back.

03/09/2026: A huge disappointment. We were regulars, but the way they spoke to us after a glass was accidentally broken was really unacceptable, especially after we apologized. A little respect for customers wouldn't have gone amiss. It's a shame, we won't be going back.

08/07/2026: Very fast service, but it wasn't our order. I asked for a gyro, a kebab, I pointed at the thing and they gave me a taco (we were the only customers).

17/08/2026: The service was mediocre; we ordered food and drinks and had to ask for the table to be cleaned before being served. This should have been done automatically. 👎
