26/01/2026: Extremely disappointing experience and a complete lack of professionalism. My husband had booked and planned a surprise Christmas night at the Hôtel Chicamour in Sury-au-Bois, in direct agreement with the manager. Everything had been organized in advance. Upon our arrival, the hotel was completely closed, with no one to greet us, and we had children and luggage. The manager was unreachable and didn't even bother to call back. Several days later, my husband had to follow up. The manager then provided incoherent and clearly false explanations, mentioning an employee who was supposed to be there, then his dismissal, promising to get back to us… which he never did. A month later, still no news. When we called again from another number, the story changed once more. No honesty, no taking of responsibility, no gesture of goodwill. This establishment hosts weddings and events: based on our experience, reliability is clearly lacking. A huge disappointment, especially for a family moment that was supposed to be exceptional.

22/01/2026: Absolutely unreliable. I wanted to surprise my wife and two children for Christmas, and I was sorely mistaken! After several attempts to contact the owner in early December, I booked a dinner, overnight stay, and breakfast for December 26th. Everything seemed fine. On the day, we entered the courtyard, and I happily announced to my family that we were going to spend the night at the castle. A few meters later, the surprise turned sour as we found the establishment... closed! I tried calling the owner several times at the time, but he never answered. We had to leave. On January 5th, I called the owner again, who feigned surprise and mentioned staffing problems. I told him to look into the situation and call me back. No response. On January 9th, I called him again, and he told me he had to meet with his "offending" employee that afternoon to fire him and that he would call me back that evening. No response... He then stopped answering my calls. I tried again on January 22nd, but to no avail. However, my wife was able to reach him without any problem using her number that same day. He then launched into incoherent explanations that didn't hold water. This gentleman seems very friendly on the phone, but don't be fooled: affable, but unreliable! In short, if you don't want your wedding or event to be a disaster: run away!!!

21/12/2025: We just drove quite a few kilometers to find this supposedly open restaurant, and there was nothing there. The phone number didn't work, and there were no signs on site, just a sign saying "open" with the hours. Disgusted.

26/12/2025: After two cancellations without apologies or discounts, we finally managed to eat at the restaurant. The dining room was poorly heated, and we were cold all evening. The meal was good, but nothing special for a Michelin-starred establishment. Other restaurants in the Gien area are worth recommending; they are less expensive, better, and offer more elaborate menus.

03/04/2026: Overall, it was good, but I'm leaving this comment to let the kitchen know to put more sauce in the tacos. Mine was dry; I had asked for Algerian sauce instead of cheese sauce, so it wasn't very good. The hamburgers, on the other hand, are delicious!

04/03/2026: A huge thank you to the Aspendos team for their consistently warm welcome and flexibility! Today, I tried the kebab sandwich, and it was a real treat: generous, well-filled, and delicious. I usually get the chicken/bulgur/salad platter, which is always so hearty and fresh. The best part? Even arriving at 2 pm, I was served with a smile and without any problems. It's rare to find a place where quality, quantity, and friendliness are always guaranteed. 09/06/2026: ⭐⭐ 2/5 — Beautiful historic setting, but 100% outsourced catalog. The shop located under the arcades of Rue Royale is aesthetically remarkable, and the service is perfectly adequate. However, an analysis of the products reveals a blatant lack of local authenticity. Although the brand claims to be the "oldest chocolate shop in Orléans since 1760," it no longer makes its own products. The online catalog and the specialties offered in-store (notably the chocolate crottins and camemberts) are perfect clones, down to the last cent, of the product descriptions of Maison Mercier, based in the Cher region. The descriptions and prices are exactly the same. 😱 The chocolates are objectively of good quality, but if your goal is to consume or give authentic, handcrafted chocolate, made in the pure Orléans tradition and crafted locally, it is better to turn to the city's independent artisans. Update following the owner's official response: Rating maintained (2/5). So be it: this is not "subcontracting" in the strict sense, but rather integration by Maison Mercier, which crafts its products in its own workshops in Baugy, in the Cher department (18). In terms of customer experience and transparency, the fundamental problem remains unchanged. The major historical claim displayed in the window—"Oldest chocolate shop in Orléans since 1760"—serves as a marketing facade. The Orléans identity is disconnected from the reality of production: 100% of the catalog, price lists, and product descriptions are exact replicas of a brand from another department. Similar to the labeling irregularities observed in other local food sectors (such as honey), the deliberate maintenance of this geographical ambiguity in the shop—without explicit display of the origin at the time of purchase—biases consumer consent. The craftsmanship remains artisanal and of high quality, but the added value is no longer local to Orléans. For chocolate truly made on-site by independent local artisans, my initial advice remains the same.

22/04/2026: Unpleasant welcome and service. A bar where you have to pay for a glass of water after ordering food is a bar you'll never return to. Unheard of. If you're lacking authority, it's never too late to change careers...

04/06/2026: We've had lunch there several times, and it's always a treat! The sautéed potatoes are absolutely delicious!! The lady is the only one working in the dining room and provides very efficient service! Thank you for your hospitality.

02/07/2026: Bad experience: unidentified floating objects in my freshly squeezed orange juice. I had to insist to get it replaced, without any apology! Unfriendly staff, what a shame! The pastries were fine, pretty good. The hot chocolate was terrible.

12/04/2026: McDo de Tavers très décevant !!! çà n'est pas une 1ère concernant ce McDo et toujours même problèmes : service bcp trop long et à chaque fois, il manque quelque chose ou erreur de commande complète ! L'erreur est humaine mais quand elle se répète systématiquement çà n'est plus une erreur mais de l'incompétence. On a le droit à un "désolé" et on vous remet ds le sac le sandwich sans compensation (manquement, attente +++ ...). Bref, c'est très moyen !!! Dernière expérience début avril 2026 : encore 1 oubli de sandwich. On me dit que "non" tout figure dans le sac. Je finis par tout enlever devant tout le monde et on finit par me dire "ah, oui, effectivement, il manque un sandwich". (rires ds l'équipe McDo qui s'en amuse) J'ai l'impression vraiment de déranger et on me parle avec dédain. Extremely unpleasant, and not the first time this has happened at this McDonald's. I get home and my daughter finds a cheeseburger WITHOUT CHEESE!!! Same for my husband's! As for me, I ordered a cheeseburger without ketchup => result: with ketchup! This is REALLY unacceptable, and it's been going on for far too long! The responses given to customers regarding reviews are always the same (bordering on sarcastic and barely acknowledging responsibility. A blatant display of bad faith that promises change but never comes!). Disrespectful to customers in several respects (food, service, cleanliness...). What a SHAME! Thankfully, BURGER KING is opening very soon in Baule, so goodbye to McDonald's Tavers (unprofessional!!!! Probably the worst McDonald's in France) and hello to the new location that will actually prepare and serve the sandwiches we ordered :) Goodbye McDonald's Tavers Hello BK :)

04/06/2026: I'm a regular customer at this bakery and I came again this morning 😊 Honestly, it's always a pleasure to go there! The products are excellent, fresh, and delicious, but what really makes the difference is the service. The saleswoman is incredibly friendly, always smiling and pleasant with customers. You can tell she loves her job, and it makes you want to come back. I highly recommend this place 👌

03/06/2026: It's a shame I can't give ZERO STARS. Prices are skyrocketing, but portion sizes are shrinking! Salads are only half full. The staff is unpleasant; no hello, no thank you, and certainly no smile! They give their manager inappropriate looks when her back is turned. They give change in 1 cent because you return the cashier's rudeness. And she doesn't even say hello! Cakes are served carelessly, so when I get home, they're completely broken and flattened. Nothing is right at Paul! SHAMEFUL!!
