03/12/2024: Very cool! We went there for brunch. This was the first one I made and it makes me want to make more! The dishes available were very varied (there is something for all tastes), coffee, orange juice is unlimited which is very appreciated. Small downside on the available space because we were very crowded at the table and having a stroller, we didn't really have the possibility of parking it somewhere. But I would happily come back!

Mais le personnel est dépassé par l’affluence lors des belles journées et ça se ressent… L’attente est interminable, ce qui gâche le moment qui devait être plaisant. 20min pour régler l’addition… Quand aux tarifs, la cadre augmente considérablement l’addition, les tarifs sont un peu élevés pour la qualité proposé, même si cela reste très bon. Ces points négatifs gâchent un peu l’expérience, ce qui est dommage car le potentiel est là.

10/09/2024: Nous avons dîné dans ce restaurant début septembre, et l'expérience a été décevante à plusieurs niveaux. Arrivés à 20h, comme prévu, nous avons été accueillis dans un établissement pourtant loin d'être complet, avec seulement cinq tables occupées, mais cela n’a pas empêché le service de se dérouler dans une confusion totale. Malgré une serveuse polie et souriante, il a fallu insister pour obtenir l'apéritif, qui, pour couronner le tout, nous a été servi sans aucun amuse-gueule, ce qui est assez inattendu pour une addition de plus de 100 €. Ensuite, les plats ont été servis dans un rythme incohérent : l’entrée a été apportée avant même que nous ayons terminé nos verres. Entre l’entrée et le plat principal, la serveuse m’a carrément demandé de garder les mêmes couverts, un manque d'attention impardonnable dans ce type de restaurant. Le point culminant de la catastrophe a été le homard, manifestement maltraité en cuisine : la purée qui l'accompagnait était froide, la pince manquait, et la cuisson du homard semblait avoir été bâclée, probablement plusieurs fois. Après avoir retiré les assiettes, la serveuse a eu la maladresse de nous dire : « Avec tout ça, vous avez fini de manger. » Une réflexion pour le moins déplacée. Nous avons dû insister pour obtenir un dessert, une crème brûlée qui, à notre grande consternation, était industrielle et mal préparée. Le dessus, censé être délicatement caramélisé, était brûlé à un point inacceptable. Ayant fréquenté un grand nombre de restaurants au fil des ans, je comprends les défis qu’implique la gestion d’un service. Cependant, ici, l’incompétence semblait flagrante. Cet établissement, situé dans un lieu touristique de choix, semble miser uniquement sur son emplacement pour attirer des clients, car du côté de la cuisine et du service, tout laisse à désirer. En somme, ce restaurant devrait être un cas d’école pour les élèves en formation hôtelière, pour leur montrer exactement ce qu’il ne faut pas faire. Comme le disait si bien Kurmanski : « Si le potage avait été aussi chaud que le vin, le vin aussi vieux que la poularde, et la poularde aussi grasse que la maîtresse de maison, cela aurait presque été convenable. » Malheureusement, ici, même l'humour ne sauve pas l'expérience.

23/09/2024: A warm welcome from the owner, efficient service, well presented plates and dishes, a good atmosphere and a pretty decor. Lots of people at the end of September, but it must be said that the place is worth it. Fairly wide choice of fish. Pink shrimp, Lotte gratin and Liégeois chocolate were on my menu today. A treat with Lotte. Thanks to Huguette Kergosien from l'Hippocampe, for this beautiful brasserie address in La Trinité. Absolutely worth discovering!

14/03/2025: Just before booking, I called the hotel to find out if the hammam was working (following a Google review which said it had been being installed for 3 months). They tell me yes yes it works. So I'm booking for the following week. Bingo, the hammam is broken, the bell is very low-end (Japanese version, with electric resistance every 50 cm at the level where you sit). In short, this spa area is a scam. The gym, ridiculous. So I let them know the same evening, they told me ok you will have a commercial gesture. The next day: nothing, too bad for me. A 4 star? No, absolutely not the standard. he got these 4 stars for the "room service" with 4 dishes available which fight in a duel. So when we say false information, we assume it, and if we say a commercial gesture, we do it. It's not the small hotel around the corner after all! In short, I won't go back.

26/02/2025: Beautiful duplex room, very clean and very quiet. The hotel is very well located, just a stone's throw from the historic center of Vannes. The breakfast was excellent. Very professional staff. We particularly appreciated the way the staff (floor and reception) handled the fact that we had forgotten a valuable item in our room. The package was sent very quickly by registered mail, and they made a quick phone call to make sure we had received it. A big thank you for their professionalism and efficiency!

01/09/2024: If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I was in the area recently and needed a place to stay for 2 nights. I always research where I stay and this place had some really good reviews and of course a handful of not great reviews (like most places). I decided to stay here, and let me tell you the people who left ridiculously bad reviews clearly live a strange life. This restaurant/lodging was in every way perfect. And trust me, I travel enough to know good vs not so good! The rooms were clean and comfortable and just what I needed and the food was super. And talk about a nice atmosphere just to sit and hang out!!!! The owners were so accommodating and I enjoyed talking to them a lot. I recommend the chicken caesar salad and you can't go wrong with any of the burgers. This is a total diamond for locals and traveller's. Thanks so much for making me feel welcome and making it a great stay!

19/08/2024: We spent 1 night at the Black Dog, had dinner and breakfast. We were well received. The pub is cozy, you feel good there. Bedroom 5 is comfortable. The charcuterie and cheese board was plentiful and was enough for dinner, no need to add a burger....just dessert. Breakfast is complete and free if you book directly on their site. Thank you John for the little musical attention in the morning for us Metalheads passing through.

31/01/2025: Not good at all 2 years ago, no more dough and we'll tell you that's how it is, no excuses or somewhat commercial speeches. Local foundry raw. We go back saying that it was still good: KO Ultra salty goat salami pizza not edible, Pizza Reggina not great (origin of ham?) Basta, even Pizza Hut, although not extraordinary, does better. Sorry

06/07/2025: Papy Joe in Lorient: a huge disappointment, even as a takeout. I had fond memories of this restaurant, but this takeout order really put me off. The burger was bland, uninteresting, a far cry from the delicious recipes of yesteryear. The fries? Reheated leftovers, hard as cardboard, despite a cheddar sauce meant to enhance the flavor. The most regrettable thing is to see how much the quality has declined. Before, there was more choice, burgers crafted with original flavors. Today, we're far from that. Result: 2 burgers, 2 portions of fries, 1 brownie, and €43 for a frankly mediocre experience. Avoid, even for a quick order.

01/07/2025: I ordered via Uber Eats, having fond memories of Papy Joe's, they've obviously changed their menu and the quality as well. Burgers are much less tasty than before and the "cheddar fries" are soggy and without any cheddar in reality, they taste like a low-end cheddar sauce...

16/08/2024: Un accueil comme jamais nous n’en avions reçu, en pleine saison estivale, malgré une arrivée sans réservation dans un restaurant complet, du fait d’une météo empêchant le service en terrasse. Invitation à patienter dans les meilleures conditions possibles, pour finalement dîner de l’excellente spécialité de la maison, dans une ambiance conviviale.
