12/09/2026: We had lunch at this restaurant during the week. We received a very warm welcome and our order was taken quickly. We chose the pork knuckle, which was locally sourced. The knuckle was delicious. The service was prompt and attentive. Afterwards, we enjoyed a gourmet coffee with a lovely selection of desserts. The prices are reasonable. The restrooms are clean and tastefully decorated.

The Maroilles cheese tart is to die for! 😍😍 The daily special (ribs, fries, and salad) is a very generous portion for €15.50, I think. Absolutely delicious!! The owners are friendly and communicative, and they go the extra mile! With dishes from the North, Normandy, and Périgord regions, there's something for everyone! I highly recommend this establishment, which is open year-round. I fueled up before an 80km kayak trip, and I'm so glad I came to eat here! We had the pleasure of a romantic dinner at the restaurant "Les Bons Enfants" in Bourg-en-Bresse, and it was an absolutely memorable experience from beginning to end. If you're looking for an authentic restaurant in the Ain region, look no further, this is the place to go! From the moment we arrived, we were charmed by the lovely terrace. Nicely shaded and inviting, it offers the perfect setting for a relaxed meal. The overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and you immediately sense that it's a favorite with both locals and passersby. The service was extraordinary, largely thanks to our waitress, a true gem! She was always running around, making sure everyone was happy, always with a smile. She jokingly referred to herself as "clumsy," but in reality, she was exceptionally professional and kind. Charming from start to finish, she made this moment even more special with her infectious good humor. As for the food, it was absolutely flawless. The promise of "homemade" was brilliantly fulfilled. The savory dishes were flavorful and generous, but it was the desserts that truly transported us. Intensely fresh and delicate, they brought the meal to an unforgettable close. You could taste the passion and expertise in every bite. As luck would have it, we were seated next to a very friendly Dutch couple, which added a delightful touch of conversation and conviviality to our lunch. Proof that this restaurant attracts a diverse and cheerful clientele! In short, "Les Bons Enfants" is a real gem. Sincere and delicious cuisine, a fantastic atmosphere, and impeccable service. 19/08/2026: The restaurant had generous opening hours, which allowed us to arrive late in the evening. We ordered two medium pizzas, but the waiter told us they were out and offered to replace them with one large pizza, balancing the toppings we had originally requested. When we went to collect the order, we were surprised to find that some ingredients were missing from the vegetarian pizza (and hadn't been replaced), and we were charged an extra fee (not mentioned in the order) for sharing the two pizzas!

29/08/2026: We discovered this pizzeria while stopping in this roadside village. The owners are quite friendly. However, we felt a slight disappointment when we declined the aperitif and wine. The problem with a roadside village is that there are passing motorists. This was our case, which meant no alcohol was offered. That being said, I really liked the menu options, which were truly focused on Italy and its quality ingredients. On the other hand, I must admit that we were very disappointed with the pizzas. As lovers of Italian cuisine, having traveled extensively throughout various regions of Italy, we found the thin crust lacked crispness. As for the toppings, my pizza was drowning in an overly thick layer of mozzarella. I could barely taste the tomato sauce. So, kudos for the concept, but the pizzas weren't to our liking.

21/07/2026: We ate pizza here twice and they were excellent. Good dough, perfect texture (not a thick American-style base), tasty toppings, and a warm welcome. There were quite a few of us and it was hot outside (inside there's air conditioning!). The best pizza in Bastia!

12/09/2026: A lovely evening with Alice 🥰🥰🥰 We were pleasantly surprised by the slightly strong limoncello spritz (Leo was already feeling lightheaded after just four sips). The pizza dough was excellent, airy and fluffy, just like the waitress's friendly manner. However, the tiramisu, while excellent, was a bit small for those of us with a hearty appetite… The quote was spot on: the pizzas are fresh (like Alice) and homemade 🫦🫦🫦 A big shout-out ❤️ to the waitress (whose name we won't mention simply because we didn't get to know her and we were too shy 👉🏻👈🏻) On her own tonight 🗡️🔪, she managed perfectly well, armed with her floral skirt and her trusty Kiprun shoes! 🛼 The chefs whipped up some really great pizzas for us! 10/09/2026: Excellent pizza! I highly recommend it. I'm very picky about pizza, and I make it very well myself. But this pizza had an incredible dough, perfectly risen, not overcooked, and just the right amount of soft and chewy :) I'll be back!!
