03/06/2026: A warm welcome, a relaxed village atmosphere. Delicious tapas-style meals featuring local products (the "bikini" with Capcir pork) and excellent, very fresh oysters from Leucate. The new owners are off to a great start!

02/06/2026: Bistro in the center of Matemale, very warm welcome, we ate very well, thank you to the sommelier of the day and congratulations to the cook.

03/05/2026: We were disappointed as part of a Wonderbox experience; the owner was cold and unwelcoming, pushing us to spend more money, resulting in a hefty bill at the end… (with small aperitifs at €4 per person and additional services not included in the budget, it adds up to a hefty price at the end of the stay!). I do not recommend this place; avoid it.

01/05/2026: We had a wonderful family holiday with the children. The owners were incredibly attentive and made us feel welcome. The home-cooked meals were excellent and the accommodation was spotless. I highly recommend it!

03/04/2026: The reception was unfriendly. The waitress was very rude. The food (two salads, one with ham, the second without) cost 40 euros. Really mediocre, but above all very unfriendly due to the waitress.

28/03/2026: Unacceptable experience at Le Select restaurant. First visit at 2:30 pm: a woman at the entrance, cigarette in hand, introduced herself as “the owner” and curtly turned us away, saying the kitchen was closed. We returned the next day at 1 pm. This time, a man (the actual owner) greeted us properly and confirmed we could have lunch. We sat down… and that's when the absurdity began: after nearly an hour's wait, the same woman arrived and started arguing violently with the owner in front of the other customers. Then she came to us, cold and aggressive, to insist that we would only have salads, no fries, because, according to her, the kitchen was closed. No coherent explanation, no sense of service. Result: €40 for two plates of green salad (one of which contained a little pork), with no welcome, no service, and no respect. This person's behavior is simply outrageous: unpleasant, bossy, and completely unsuitable for the restaurant industry. She seems to decide everything that happens in the restaurant on her own, with complete disregard for the customer… and even the owner. It's especially unfortunate for the owner, who seems decent but clearly lets this person call the shots. Avoid this place while this situation continues.

19/04/2026: The owners are very kind, the view is stunning, we were on the 5th floor... with an elevator. Extra generous breakfasts.

05/03/2026: The apartment was very functional and very clean. The key box was a very convenient way to access the apartment independently. I recommend it.

09/05/2026: Very disappointed. We were greeted by a gruff owner who showed us to our table. One of the waiters was just like the owner, so not very professional! The daily special, cod with aioli, was very salty, the rice à l'armoricaine was awful, and the worst part for dessert, the chocolate pear, was more chocolate than pear (about the size of a tablespoon, and most likely pears in syrup)! Too expensive for the quality of the food. And above all, we received terrible service, which is essential for me. I understand why the restaurant was practically empty.

25/04/2026: I have only good things to say; a friendly gentleman behind the counter who accepted and understood my French-English with a wink. A white wine with ice for €2.50 was perfectly reasonable. He even came back to my table to ask if everything was alright. I'm extremely satisfied.

13/05/2026: Nice spot for an afternoon drink... too bad about the atmosphere inside the toilet complex... it's just a toilet seat without a lid or seat... Guys... we're in the 21st century!!!

10/05/2026: Much less positive reviews, but we had a nice experience in early May. A lovely place to sit and enjoy the beautiful decor. We had tasty toasted bread with olive oil, anchovies, and paprika. Lovely in the spring sunshine. The toilet smells and is not very clean.

02/06/2026: This is a place you go to if you're really in a pinch; the food is mediocre and the staff is very average.

01/06/2026: The welcome and staff were pleasant. However, some dishes were already unavailable by 1 p.m. When we went to get our meals, the side dishes were practically empty, and we had to ask repeatedly to have them replenished. It's more like a cafeteria than a restaurant, but it's still acceptable. The meat was very good. The dessert buffet, however, was very average.

11/05/2026: We had a drink in a friendly atmosphere; the staff were professional, especially a waitress named Laurence, who was very energetic and had a great sense of humor. We wouldn't hesitate to go back.

09/06/2026: What a disgrace! I was waiting my turn to be served, but when it was finally my turn to order, the employee didn't even bother to serve me. She preferred to attend to the next customer. Despite my signs of disapproval, she continued without apologizing. I left without buying anything, and I will never go back to Marie Blachère!
