11/09/2024: We are 4 Pilgrims who were turned away from Estaing. We were warmly welcomed at the Relais de Boralde. Comfortably installed in beds with sheets 😂, luxury for hikers. An excellent dinner. We recommend this establishment whether you are tourists or hikers

05/07/2025: Review for the restaurant only, we weren’t staying here. We had a delicious lunch, the best we’ve had 2 weeks into our 4 week vacation in France so far, which is saying a lot! We’ve had some great meals. My husband had a special a beef stew wrapped in a pastry. The young beef (veal?) was from a woman run farm just 2 kilometers away. I had a hamburger with a sauce, a great bun, tomato and bacon. We both had the local specialty potato cheese dish and a side salad. Every bite was perfection. We each had a local beer, which was cool and crisp. The waitress/co owner was a delight, explaining in English the dishes and where locally the ingredients were from. The other staff were efficient and kind. For desert we had the melon which was grown very locally and the best cantaloupe we’ve ever had, even better than the ones our childhood families grew (sorry Grandpa). The view from the terrace is beautiful. I highly recommend this spot.

23/09/2024: This review only concerns the restaurant Very warm welcome. Local products, home-made cuisine. Very good value for money. The hot goat cheese with honey is very tasty and its accompaniment is hearty. The lamb shank is very good. Desserts not tested because we were full.

20/09/2024: During a cycling trip we stayed there for one night. Ideally located in the heart of St Affrique, you will first be pleasantly welcomed by the owners whose hotel sense is not an empty word. Pretty little rooms recently renovated with pleasant and neat decoration, air conditioning, very good bedding and a beautiful bathroom. A closed garage for our bikes. An excellent restaurant with tasty cuisine and a service team attentive to the smooth running of your meal. A pleasant breakfast to get you back on the road. If you are in St Affrique, look no further, this is the place to stay!

18/09/2024: Dès notre installation, nous fûmes désagréablement interpellés par les tarifs élevés des carte, carte des vins, et menus où les suppléments fleurissent. Nous pensions donc goûter une cuisine originale, travaillée, digne des prix d'un restaurant gastronomique. Las, nous eumes des plats sans imagination, parfois mal préparés (viande trop cuite), arrosés d'un vin ordinaire au prix d'un Crozes Hermitage sublime dégusté récemment dans un autre restaurant de la région. Le pompon était le service, absolument non professionnel (collerette du vin découpée au ras du goulot, assiettes du dessert servies en les poussant sur la table, couverts en libre service à la découverte du client), le tout sans un sourire : nous avions l'impression de gêner. En bref, une expérience très décevante que nous ne renouvellerons pas.

25/05/2025: On Sunday, Mother's Day, a single menu is offered. Duck foie gras salad, duck breast risotto, and strawberry tartlet shortbread for dessert, pure bliss. The advantage of this option: the chef and his team prepare the menu and don't dwell on other dishes (if the menu is offered). As a result, the duck breasts are well-cooked and the risotto is well-simmered. For the waitresses, it's easier to take orders, and the work is more comfortable (not an easy job). The results: the products are fresh. The prices are very reasonable. I recommend it.

11/11/2024: Very nice discovery at the Auberge du Fel! A very warm welcome with Meredith, Victor (and Ralph) in a magnificent setting suspended above the Lot valley. A gourmet and generous cuisine. We recommend and above all, we will come back with pleasure. A big thank you to both!

17/11/2024: nous sommes venus 3 jours au we du 11 novembre. que ce soit l'hôtel ,l'accueil,le service, le restaurant tou etait impeccable. le service au restaurant au top et les plats succulents. touts nos félicitations au jeune chef de cuisine ainsi qu'au serveur et serveuse du restaurant. les patrons sont également très sympathique très avenants et professionnel. les chambres d'hôtel très spacieuse et très bien décorées. bref nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cet établissement et nous n'hésiterons pas a revenir lorsque nous reviendrons dans la région

13/11/2024: De passage à Mur-de-Barrez, nous avons déjeuné dans cet ancienne auberge réputée reprise récemment, après un passage... à vide de quelques années. Nous sommes venus cet été assez souvent, entre amis et en famille : menu brasserie parfait. En novembre, nous étions pressés par le temps et avons choisi le menu du jour. Excellent. Cuisine entièrement faite maison : produits frais, de qualité... et bons, ce qui est rare pour un menu du jour. Postule pour le label "maitre restaurateur" ce qui est un gage de qualité. Service rapide, dynamique, discret et efficace malgré une certaine affluence. Ambiance cool, sympathique. Adresse à recommander.
