The cocktails are delicious, the wines excellent, and the gourmet restaurant is of remarkable quality. The breakfasts are exquisite and varied. The rooms, the facilities, the jacuzzi, the pool… everything is impeccable and designed for an unforgettable stay. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment. Don't hesitate to visit the old Périgord region, near La Roque-Gageac, to discover this magnificent area and stay in this hotel, which is clearly one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

The set menu was €32, and the dessert of the day was a slice of walnut cake (very good) which would have been even better with a scoop of ice cream (for those with a sweet tooth). The setting is a farmhouse, with a typical farmhouse dining room. The dishes and plates are brought out in old-fashioned platters. A small suggestion for the waitress (very kind but a little shy): if possible, could she explain the dishes? Everything went perfectly, thank you again for this wonderful discovery. Go without hesitation!

09/06/2026: So, it's been almost a year. We decided to book La Chartreuse du Bignac for our wedding. It was a natural progression for us, since the proposal took place in this breathtaking setting. For the past year, La Chartreuse has been with us every step of the way, helping us choose the menu, the wines, and organizing everything. The big day was on June 6th, with exclusive use of the estate so our guests could extend the celebration. This weekend was unforgettable for everyone, from the planning to the culinary delights. Everything was wonderful, from the cocktail hour to the meal, and even breakfast. Thank you to Jean Twari and his team for the culinary creations, thank you to Marina Arfeuille for the organization and her support, thank you to Pauline Lavignerie and Bastien for the service in the rooms. Thank you to the entire team at La Chartreuse. For a truly unique and unforgettable experience, I highly recommend this estate; it's simply perfect.

01/07/2026: A real find for us locals, who were feeling down about the surrounding restaurants and the closure of the Restaurant de Campagne. The food is well-prepared, generous, and very good value for money. Almost like a bistro. There's a lot of care put into the dishes served. For locals who are tired of foie gras and other duck breasts, or ready-made meals from Metro, the menu offers some lovely options like Thai-style tuna, a sublime perfect egg, and fish! For duck lovers in all its forms, you'll be well catered for as well. For dessert, opt for the homemade ones rather than the Manouvrier ice cream served in all the local restaurants in the Dordogne and southern Corrèze, which is completely uninteresting. A so-called artisanal ice cream parlor 🙈 A pleasant place, with a terrace and air-conditioned dining room, away from road noise. We will recommend it to the guests of our New Forest House gîte.

28/06/2026: One of the best restaurants we've ever been to! This small, gourmet restaurant is ideal for a romantic dinner for two. The dishes are flavorful, refined, and offer excellent taste. We were delighted from start to finish, with generous portions that more than satisfied us. We also appreciated the selection of several types of bread offered by the server, as well as the numerous amuse-bouches served throughout the meal—a thoughtful touch that made the experience even more enjoyable. The dishes are beautifully prepared, and the quality of the ingredients is impeccable. The staff is very pleasant, attentive, and takes excellent care of the guests. We will definitely be back regularly.

23/06/2026: The food was very good, but the waiter ripped us off, selling us a set menu and still charging us for everything separately. Furthermore, the service was inattentive; the table was emptied and not cleaned up after clearing, etc. We won't be going back and can't recommend it. 😒
