14/09/2026: Excellent experience at this restaurant after visiting Hautefort Castle. The dishes and desserts were delicious and the service was perfect. Prices were a little high, but the quality was there. We will definitely return!

16/09/2026: We passed by too often not to try it. Close to our Airbnb. Well, we weren't disappointed. Fast service, very good product, in a small village. And a calm dog who loves fries.

15/09/2026: I went there with friends in September. Great, friendly bar-restaurant! We didn't eat there, but they have a huge selection of drinks, including local ones (I recommend the Souillac plum brandy!). The owners, Axel and Arjen, are lovely; we had a great time! With its late opening hours (around 1 a.m.), you could really party and have fun. Darts and chess are available (free of charge). In short, it's the kind of village bar you wish every village in France had! As my friends and I used to say: the Saint Jus beer is delicious!

15/09/2026: ⭐ 1/5 – Extremely disappointing experience I entered Auberge l’Espérance after speaking with the bartender, who told me that the restaurant was open. I sat down, and shortly afterwards a woman came over and asked whether I had a reservation. I explained that I did not, as I had just arrived in the village. She told me that they could not serve me because the restaurant was “full”. What was difficult to understand was that both there were several empty tables, inside and outside. I even asked if I could at least order something to take away, but I was refused again. I was polite throughout the entire interaction, yet I was given no real explanation and no alternative. I cannot say for certain what the reason for the refusal was, but the way I was treated made me feel discriminated against and unwelcome. As a visitor from another country, this was an extremely unpleasant experience. If the restaurant was genuinely fully booked, I would have completely understood. But when there are empty tables, you are refused even takeaway food, and you are not given a reasonable explanation, it is difficult not to question why you were treated this way. I would not recommend this place. 31/07/2026: Fantastic... Everything you could want when visiting this region. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the setting is lovely, and the food is delicious. The duck breast was perfect and generous, the fish was delicious, and the sweetbreads in brioche were also excellent. In short, a superb and authentic discovery, far removed from tourist traps. I highly recommend it and extend my sincere thanks to the restaurant team for this wonderful experience.

30/07/2026: We came to celebrate a family reunion, and the Rib of Beef & Concert themed evening was magical! The service was perfect (despite the crowd), the rib was cooked to perfection, and the atmosphere was festive and friendly. A place to remember for those who want to enjoy a delicious meal and have a great time ✨👌🏼

16/09/2026: A restaurant with a magnificent stone terrace, offering peace and quiet under a gigantic tree that acts as a giant parasol. Everyone is charming and the food is excellent!

11/09/2026: I came here once before and was disappointed by the rice, which was full of soft, sticky clumps. For an Indian restaurant, I would expect the basmati rice to be freshly prepared, with light, separate grains. I chose not to post a review at the time and instead gave the restaurant my feedback directly. Unfortunately, I was invited back for my 50th birthday by friends, and although I was reluctant to return, I agreed. To my regret, the rice had exactly the same problem again. The portions were also surprisingly small, we waited an extremely long time for our food, and were the very last table to be served. What made the lunch particularly unpleasant, however, was the waiter’s behaviour. He repeatedly made sarcastic, pointed comments, with a tone that felt distinctly passive-aggressive. Rather than simply apologising for the delay or acknowledging our concerns, he seemed to turn them into opportunities for another sarcastic remark. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere at the table, which was especially disappointing on what was supposed to be a special 50th birthday lunch with friends. I had given the restaurant the benefit of the doubt after my first experience and chose to give them another chance. Sadly, the second visit confirmed my concerns, and the overall experience was even more disappointing.

12/09/2026: For a truly reasonable price, you get a genuine gourmet meal... refined. Beautifully presented dishes with meticulous presentation. Not just cooking... it's art!

10/09/2026: We had a wonderful time at L'Epicurien. The meal was delicious, especially the snails with stracciatella and black garlic – a real treat! It will be a real pleasure to return.

18/08/2026: Canoe and kayak rentals with several possible routes on the Dordogne River. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The driver is very careful. The trip down the Dordogne is very pleasant and peaceful.

17/08/2026: Booked through our campsite. 22km descent... It was perfect, a beautiful, accessible route, without any difficulties, and with lovely views of the sights we had visited on foot beforehand. The staff gave us a very warm welcome and explained everything.

16/09/2026: Local cuisine. Meals served on the shaded terrace. Very generous and tasty dishes. Duck parmentier, foie gras... Cheeses accompanied by excellent homemade jams.

11/09/2026: In a bucolic setting, a very pleasant evening on a lovely terrace, on a night of solar eclipse… But we must also mention the warm welcome, the authentic and tasteful decor, and above all, a gourmet menu (€42!) that fully satisfied our taste buds, with a special mention for the fresh duck foie gras from Périgord, chutney, and its walnut bread tuile… a delight! Finally, a big thank you to the manager, who spontaneously offered us a cognac and a glass of champagne when he realized there was a birthday in the air… a very thoughtful touch! A truly wonderful place!
