07/12/2025: Our experience, after a night spent at the Hôtel de Bourgogne in Saulieu, included a very pleasant exchange with our host. While the room was admittedly rustic, the bedding was impeccable. Impersonal hotel chains are not for us. We had a delightful encounter with the owner. It all started with a Cuiralatre counterweighted rotisserie that stood proudly in one of the dining rooms. We also learned about the creation of Courtepaille in Burgundy by Jean Loisier, the brand's founder. We learned a great deal and wish him well in passing on the torch; a lifetime of experience is priceless! One night from December 6th to 7th.

31/05/2026: It's a shame that when booking online, it wasn't mentioned whether there was a set menu for Mother's Day at €55 instead of the €39 menu. We were upstairs, and the air conditioning was very unpleasant. We were seated against a wall, and cold air blew on our necks throughout the entire meal. The table next to us also commented on it. There were no snacks with the aperitif. The food was good, no complaints there. But at €55 per person, excluding drinks, it wasn't a good experience considering the price and service.

25/05/2026: Excellent lunch. We ordered snails, Bresse chicken, and strawberry nage. The snails for the starter arrived a little lukewarm, but the staff readily took the plate back to reheat it at our request... and brought the dish back completely reheated, perfectly piping hot! The attention to detail in the service is noteworthy; it's in these kinds of details and the handling of unexpected situations that you recognize true professionals. The sauce and mashed potatoes accompanying the Bresse chicken were exceptional, very flavorful, and the strawberry nage was the perfect light finish.

17/06/2026: Just for an afternoon snack, or the possibility of eating there (but we didn't try it), nice place.

03/05/2026: My colleagues and I came to eat around 2 pm. The kitchen was closed, which is understandable. But the waitress's welcome was appalling. Clearly, the café isn't called Paris for nothing. They've picked up on Parisian bad moods. I don't recommend it. Response: You must have the wrong person; we didn't sit at a table. The waitress was clearing a table. We asked her if we could eat, and she gave us a very rude response. You should take customer reviews into account, especially since I'm not the only one who has pointed out this problem.

01/06/2026: Well located, the restaurant is very well laid out and beautifully decorated. The food was decent, although some dishes lacked flavor. However, we won't be returning, mainly because of the very cold waiter—not a smile, curt responses—it ruins everything. To be served like that, at the very least a smile and making customers feel comfortable. It's a shame.

24/05/2026: Food was absolutely disgusting. Probably the worst meal i have ever had in France. Service was terrible

20/05/2026: A cold welcome and unpleasant service from beginning to end. Every time we asked for something, we clearly felt like we were bothering them. As for the food, the tomatoes in the starter were overcooked, mushy, and had an alcoholic taste. The steak with eggs, ordered rare, arrived well-done, accompanied by cold fries. And to top it all off, a "floating island" without an island... that pretty much sums up the experience. The only positive point was the price, around twenty euros. Very disappointed, we won't be back.

19/05/2026: It's a shame the dishes we ordered were no longer available. The setting was pleasant, and the staff were friendly but a little slow. We enjoyed our meals.

05/04/2026: Endless wait for a drink; the waiter said "I'll be right back" three times. I'm still waiting...

05/04/2026: There was no one on the terrace and we were served very slowly... the cocktail was very good. When it came time to pay, the waiter said, "Is this a joke?" because we paid in cash... no "good evening" or "good morning"

01/05/2026: The room reeked of stale tobacco. The drain was clogged at the sink. In the middle of the night, we were woken by the foul odor coming from the drains, forcing us to sleep with the window open.

06/06/2026: The chicken and the crêpes Suzette were excellent. The service, however, was listless and inattentive, giving the impression that we were a nuisance as guests and not truly welcome. A shame. We didn't really live up to our own expectations.

15/05/2026: The aim is to judge by value for money, and the result is disappointing. When you pay an average of €150 per person, you expect much better. A mixed experience. While the setting is pleasant and the service adequate, the food unfortunately doesn't live up to the prices. The dishes lack depth for an establishment of this caliber. You leave with the feeling you paid for the prestige rather than the cuisine. A shame.

21/04/2026: A place to avoid at all costs!!!! Arriving at 11:45 am and asking for a drink, we were refused service on the grounds that only regular customers were being served at that time. Thank you to the DDPP (Departmental Directorate for the Protection of Populations) for inspecting this type of establishment.

04/04/2026: The T-bone steak had too much fat and was overcooked. The fries were tasty. The sauce was a bit weird. My brother had a pasta carbonara and he found it too greasy. The lamb chops were thin. The Tarte Tattin was dry and the apples were like in applesauce. Prices are okay, but not worth the money. The service was good, the girl was friendly. We did get the bill without asking. Overall okay. We just made the wrong food choices.
