23/08/2026: The food was good value for money, though nothing exceptional. They have reasonably priced set menus. In our case, the staff didn't take our order (in writing). This, combined with them mistakenly bringing us a dish from another table, led to the staff giving us dirty looks on several occasions. I understand the confusion, but it wasn't our fault in any of the cases, and they can save their dirty looks for when they're not around. It's true that they didn't charge us for these mistakes, which is something that happens in other places. Finally, and I think due to the errors and confusion, the desserts and the bill took a very long time. Overall, a bad experience. I wouldn't go back even if they paid the bill.

24/05/2026: What a fabulous hotel! Classy without being snobby. Our room overlooking the river was stunning, the staff were absolutely amazing, and as for the meal in the restaurant... no words! We felt welcome and at home. If you're considering staying here, stop thinking and just book it!

09/07/2026: Tonight, for my birthday, I had the pleasure of discovering L’Escapade des Sens in Thiviers. The setting is magnificent, the welcome warm, and the service impeccable. We enjoyed a five-course menu, accompanied by three amuse-bouches, and everything was absolutely delicious. Each dish was as beautiful as it was flavorful. The servers were incredibly attentive, smiling, and very pleasant, and the pace between courses was perfectly controlled. A truly wonderful discovery, which I wholeheartedly recommend to all lovers of fine cuisine. A must-try!

04/07/2026: Re-tested and approved in July. Slightly too generous a portion, but absolutely top-notch from start to finish—a feast for the senses. The wine pairing was interesting; luckily, we only ordered one bottle for two people. Congratulations and best of luck!

21/08/2026: I arrived alone to eat, the restaurant wasn't full, and then they told me it was full with a sigh. One person doesn't bring in as much as two, I understand the financial aspect... 😡 I think it's a lack of business sense. I don't recommend it.

14/06/2026: Three days spent in paradise! At the Hautegente manor, we were welcomed like family by Marie Josée, Patrick, and all the staff! Hautegente is a unique place that will awaken your five senses: - sight (magnificent setting: garden, house, river, pool…), - hearing (the soothing sound of flowing water and birdsong), - taste (the breakfast and restaurant are delicious and of high quality), - touch (animals to pet, soft linens, comfortable outdoor sofas…), - smell (beautiful flowers and mint filling the lawn, perfect for relaxation) … What more could you ask for?

Marie-Jo, Patrick, their teams, and the Hautegente Manor are among them. 12/07/2026: La Forge des Maquignons. A real brasserie, located in the middle of a shopping area, between a Burger King and a Leclerc supermarket… With its rotunda shape, young and dynamic staff, and a €16.50 set menu displayed at the entrance. Nice rugby-themed decor. I honestly ate quite well and very honestly; a very decent, generous steak tartare was on the daily special, with excellent fries. And above all, the staff were super friendly.

23/06/2026: Excellent crêperie. The owners (both in the kitchen and the dining room) are very welcoming. Delicious crêpes (especially the "crepe fraîche"). A very pleasant setting with a well-located terrace in the picturesque streets of Bergerac! Don't miss it! You can even make a reservation! This has been one of our favorite restaurants for several years! We highly recommend it: go without hesitation!
