06/06/2026: We went for a meal in the restaurant for lunch. The setting is beautiful. The food was underwhelming, sadly.

04/06/2026: We visited the hotel in September 2025 with a small dog, to enjoy some drinks on the terrace outside the restaurant. We were welcomed and the service was great. We invited some friends to join us in June 2026 and were told that ‘the hotel only allows one dog on the hotel premises at any time and since there was already a dog’, we could not be served. Disappointing.

20/05/2026: We were a group of motorcyclists who received a very warm welcome. Laetitia and Eric shared their passion for truffles with us. During our stay, we were able to sample various specialties and a delightful array of desserts, lovingly and passionately prepared to tantalize our taste buds. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, ensuring restful nights in the peaceful Périgord countryside. The presentation and tour of the truffle orchard were very informative and answered all our questions. A truly immersive stay at a very welcoming, informative, and delicious guesthouse. 16/05/2026: A wonderful discovery :-) During our stay in the Périgord region, we stopped at the Mérigots truffle farm. A truly great experience!! A lovely presentation of the estate and the truffle-growing profession. Followed by a superb truffle tasting experience at lunchtime.

26/08/2026: On my third visit to the golf course in two years, I'm disappointed for the second time. The change of chef is definitely noticeable... I'm not talking about quality, but preparation. Being from the region, they could do much better without charging extra. The food was very simple, lacking any passion. No special touches whatsoever... just basic, simple, homemade fries that were dry, whether baked or air-fried. The tiramisu (whipped cream, speculoos crumbs) wasn't really tiramisu... In short, that was the last time. It's a shame, because the setting is magnificent.

20/08/2026: We were very pleased with the service and the food at this restaurant. There were 16 of us at the table for my mother's birthday, and we were all very well looked after! The portions were generous, the setting was lovely with a view of the golf course ⛳️, and the staff were very friendly and took group photos of us 😎. In short, we sincerely recommend this restaurant.

14/09/2026: The customer or the cash register? Clearly, the choice is easy! A rather disappointing experience at La Maison Carré. The welcome was lukewarm, the saleswomen sometimes condescending… We're not asking for the red carpet, just a little consideration! I mainly got the feeling that profitability came before the customer. As long as the credit card goes through, everything's fine! A quick note about the walnut cake: €12.50 today compared to around €10 three or four years ago. Inflation, the war in Ukraine, tensions in the Middle East… or simply a love of the cash register? To each their own explanation! As for the quality, it's not bad, but you can find just as good in the valley. Personally, I highly recommend Les Gourmandises de Lucco. Mr. Lucco was Mr. Carré's mentor. I find him to have much more business acumen, professionalism, and, above all, genuine consideration for the customer. In short, I'd rather drive a few extra kilometers and be treated as a customer than just a checkout line. PS: I can already see the responses coming, explaining, justifying, or denying all this… Everyone is free to see things as they wish. I'm simply talking about what I saw, what I paid for, and the service I received. The rest is just marketing.

14/09/2026: An absolutely magnificent and delicious croquembouche! The presentation was elegant, the cream puffs were fresh, light, and perfectly filled. All our guests were delighted, both by the taste and the visual appeal. A huge thank you for your professionalism, your attentiveness, and the quality of your work. I highly recommend them!

22/08/2026: We had a meal for two and our experience was rather mixed. We arrived late, but we were still very warmly welcomed. We ordered two glasses of wine, two main courses (duck breast and beef), and two desserts (crème brûlée and a tart). To begin with, the service was poor; they forgot our wine glasses. As for the main courses, while they were good, we were disappointed that we received the same side dish for two different dishes. Furthermore, the portion sizes were insufficient for the price. Finally, the dessert completely satisfied my appetite; the tart was excellent, generous, and delicious.

20/08/2026: During our stay at Relais des Vigiers, we dined twice at this bistro; the duck breast was excellent. The service was also very pleasant. We will gladly return to this establishment.

08/09/2026: Lovely terrace. Very pleasant service, attentive young man. Excellent, refined cuisine. Please note that the menu is not the same as the one shown online... change of ownership, which is a shame.

02/08/2026: I ate at this restaurant for the first time 10 years ago. The food is still excellent. The presentation of the dishes is meticulous. The service and staff are top-notch. Very good value for money. I recommend it 200%.

14/04/2026: Came here for my birthday last night, I went for the bolognese and partner went for the steak and chips. Food was lovely, service was fantastic and the cost was more than reasonable. Had to pop back the day after as I lost my phone, turns out I had left it there, they’d even charged it for me. Would definitely visit again!

10/09/2026: Only recommended for people with a looooot of time. We sat for 1.5 hours waiting for our food. Even the French people at the next table were embarrassed and complained. We left without eating. Absolutely no recommendation for this place!
