01/08/2026: My wife and I spent a couple of days at this hotel in June, 2026. The room we stayed in was in a building back of the main tower. It was a fairly large room with a great shower and bathroom, fairly large twin beds, and had a TV where I could watch a few World Cup matches. It was very quiet at night, and had air conditioning if needed (we turned it on once or twice during the afternoon). The outside of the hotel is charming, and incorporates part of the old city wall. The breakfasts were first rate, and I liked the fact that they had an electric orange juice squeezer so that I could have a glass of fresh OJ each morning along with my two double espressos. It's a bit sad these days that all the hotels use espresso machines rather than make it the old fashion way with real espresso makers, but alas, progress marches on! The location is near the confluence of the Isle and Dordogne rivers, and an easy walk to various river cruises of so desired. It is also a short walk into the city square where there are several restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket. I would definitely stay here again!

17/06/2026: I booked a room with a balcony and the view of the river is very nice, as is the location. The hotel is clean and the staff are lovely.

16/10/2026: Family lunch at 3 pm for 5 people! No problem at all, a very warm welcome and a very friendly owner who shared the restaurant's history – a lovely chat. The meal on the terrace was impeccable, a pleasant setting at Porte Dijeau, very happy with our experience.

26/09/2026: I called... I asked... I got approval... there are seven of us, including six children. For my daughter's birthday, before going to the movies, I asked if, by ordering all the drinks there, I could bring a small cake (because some of the children have allergies)... they said YES. On the day... They asked me for a €2 per person for a "plate fee"... Seriously, at 3 pm the restaurant was practically empty! With drinks already costing at least €3 per person... We're talking about a mini cake!!!! I can't believe we've come to the point where we have to pay for everything! Good business owners don't exist anymore! It's pathetic!

14/09/2026: The restaurant's website and Google search results state that it is open on Mondays from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. We went there on Monday, September 14, 2026, around 12:30 PM, and it was closed. I cannot accept that the online hours are not up-to-date; this demonstrates not only a lack of professionalism but also a lack of respect for customers. For me, it's a 0/10.
