04/05/2026: We came to celebrate our son's baptism at Les Grepins and we were delighted! The staff were very professional and attentive, and they were able to adapt to everything we asked of them at the last minute. The waitresses were absolutely wonderful; they came to offer all the appetizers to my husband and me while we were busy in the small room next to the main dining area. The meal was delicious, with excellent, locally sourced ingredients. Thank you, Les Grepins, we have no regrets!

19/05/2026: Order taken and service were quick. The dishes were nothing special, neither in taste nor quality. The dining room isn't very attractive. It's a place for office workers at lunchtime; it's simple and inexpensive, that's all. And to top it all off, the owner was rather unfriendly after a misunderstanding when the bill arrived and questioned our word. Personally, I won't be going back.

16/06/2026: The "rump steak" from Bazas, served on three plates, had tough, inedible pieces on one of them. They offered no compensation whatsoever. We weren't even offered a free coffee; we paid for all three. We won't be back.

03/06/2026: Ended up disappointing overall. We went a week ago, four of us. We were impressed with the food. I personally told the chef. I left 10 Euros tip to the waitress. So, we went back this week with other friends and I saw the chef and said “we are bringing new people”. I ordered a carré d’agneau that came so small, a ridiculous piece of meat, poorly executed, dry, overcooked and the creamy sauce was split. When the waitress came back and asked how it was, I gently said I was not impressed and explained. I also said it was not a big deal, but since she asked I’d rather be honest. Being a foodie and a cook myself it was only fair to tell. You would have expected a nice gesture, an offer for a glass of wine or a coffee. No, we didn’t hear anything. I believe that when you get clients who come back with other people, you’d want to care for them. Mistakes happen and I still think this place has nice food, but it’s important to acknowledge feedback. We won’t go back unfortunately.

24/05/2026: Yesterday, for European Museum Night, like many Bordeaux residents, we went to dinner in the city center, 60 meters from City Hall and 30 meters from the Cathedral, at the Bistrot-Café Français... and what a disappointment! The place aims for chic and refined decor inside, and the air conditioning was pleasant. However, the toilets were in a deplorable state of filth, from floor to bowl, and there was no toilet paper. Regarding the service, which was dynamic and efficient, I didn't appreciate the comment about us not ordering appetizers and going straight for the main course. But that's beside the point; the most disappointing aspect was the meager quantity and quality of the dishes. For four adults, we ordered three different salads and a burger. The Caesar salad consisted of nothing more than chicken on lettuce; the Ocean salad was acceptable; The meager Landes salad with a small, tasteless tomato cut into quarters, four flavorless slices of duck breast, and a piece of foie gras on two bland Hungarian-Bulgarian buns... And the overly greasy burger that the young adult didn't finish. The disappointment had nothing to do with the price but with the quantity, the quality of the food, and also the amateurish presentation. There must not have been a cook that day. However, I could see that the standard is steadily declining... from a warm bistro for locals, Le Café Français is becoming a tourist trap and a real rip-off! I miss the years 1991-1993 when I used to come and play pool in the back of the main room with my friends.

08/05/2026: Magnificent location, breathtaking view of the lake, impeccable service with friendly and welcoming waiters, excellent cuisine made with fresh ingredients – kudos to the chefs! The value for money is practically unbeatable. We highly recommend this place; don't hesitate, go in droves and with your eyes closed. The price range indicated below includes two set menus, starter, main course, dessert, two aperitifs, and two coffees.

04/10/2025: A very warm welcome and fast service with a smile. Probably bad luck, but there were two of us who ordered beef tartare: we both felt sick after our meal. Despite this, the portions are generous. They don't take menu items, which is a shame. But it's worth going back to give them the chance they deserve.

05/06/2026: The setting is magnificent: Place Pey Berland, opposite Saint-André Cathedral, and the interior is beautifully decorated. The service: the waitresses (Juliette and Mel) were as friendly as they were professional. There was virtually no wait between courses. The menu: well-designed (it changes regularly), easy to read, not a huge selection, but better than too many. As someone who is picky about cooked endives, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.

01/06/2026: We went for lunch as soon as we arrived in Bordeaux, great location and lovely service. The food was so good we went for dinner three nights in a row. Everything was delicious, particularly the lamb shank! Will definitely recommend to friends and anyone visiting the city and we hope to visit again too.

15/03/2026: A small place but with a great selection of wines. We ordered glasses to try them, and if you're unsure what to order, it's a good place to start, but it's quite expensive. I recommend buying a bottle if you want to share a cake with friends. The service from the young woman was excellent and very attentive; she explained the wines well and gave great advice.
