18/02/2026: My needs - To sleep peacefully and restfully for a very important business trip My experience - Very disturbed sleep in the morning; room 226 is best avoided. - Small but still functional room. - No exceptional toiletries, but adequate. No dedicated shampoo, everything in one container. - A few small items for tea in the room. - Friendly welcome and service, 10/10. - Good breakfast at 6:00 AM, nothing bad or exceptional. Positive point: the hot food was quite good. Negative point: at this price, I expected freshly squeezed orange juice. Perhaps even a manual juicer. - I didn't have the opportunity to evaluate the rest; it wasn't on my itinerary. In detail My stay was bad. My room was opposite the first set of stairs. The floor is occupied by residents with very specific schedules, so there was a lot of noise from footsteps, people going up and down the stairs, doors closing, and general sounds of daily life, mostly when they were going to bed or leaving (10 PM and 5:30 AM). There wasn't any extraordinary noise, but the soundproofing was nonexistent; they seemed to be inside the room. Room 226 is to be avoided at all costs; it's very poorly located. At 6:00 AM, I spoke with the administration, but I had missed my sleep, so no possible solution to remedy this inconvenience was considered. If I stayed another night, the administration would change my room.

08/11/2025: From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff is remarkably professional, attentive to every detail, smiling, and discreet. We felt pampered without ever being intrusive. It's a true pleasure to be served by such a dedicated team. As for the cuisine, it's pure delight. Each dish is meticulously prepared with high-quality ingredients and impressive technical skill. The flavors are perfectly balanced, and the presentation is magnificent. The icing on the cake: the chef is incredibly kind. He took the time to greet each table with a humility and warmth that truly made a difference. You can feel his passion and love for his craft in every interaction. If you're looking for a restaurant where the excellence of the food rivals the quality of the service and the warmth of the staff, don't hesitate for a second. Bravo and thank you for this perfect experience! We will definitely be back!

31/03/2026: We go there whenever we're in Lille, and this time we were very disappointed!!! We saw a cockroach strolling around, and the waitress was wiping her nose with her hands 😱😱 We both got sick after the meal 🤢🤢🤢 I'll never set foot in there again

15/03/2026: Saturday, March 14, 2026. Around 7:45 a.m., I went to get a coffee and a croissant. The croissant was soggy and tasteless. The staff were unpleasant so early in the morning—unbelievable! Finally, not wanting to bother them any longer, I paid and left. I won't be back anytime soon. Wanting another croissant and a coffee, I finally found a superb place, Augustin & Ferdinand (see my review for this REAL baker!!).

19/04/2026: We arrived around 1:50 pm for lunch, the restaurant welcomed us warmly and the meal was perfect! A friendly atmosphere and very professional and attentive service. My friend had the baked Camembert and I had the fish and chips! Perfect!

27/03/2026: Excellent food, everything homemade and clean, warm welcome, smiling waitress. Everything to enjoy a delicious meal. My sausage rougail was excellent, and my husband's poutine was succulent. We'll definitely be back.

06/04/2026: I'm changing my review because the main issue is that the waitress was cleaning the tables with her spray bottle right next to our table while we hadn't finished eating. I find that a bit annoying. Otherwise, it's a very good restaurant, from the steak and fries 🍟 to the dessert 🍨, a real treat, and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend it.

30/03/2026: A great place if you love fries. They're tasty, generous portions, and served with a smile. The paninis and burgers are delicious. The only downside: the wait, despite the staff working very hard.

The service was fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and always smiling. We've been twice now, once for afternoon tea and once for dinner. Keep up the good work, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

17/01/2026: Another resounding success for La Bascule Caudry! 😍 My son said as we left, "See, I told you it was amazing!" 😍 We have a fantastic meal every time! The waitresses are friendly and helpful! We'll definitely be back! 🤩 Okay, the only downside to the restaurant is the unlit and rather inconvenient parking lot... full of potholes and bumps... and the same goes for the restaurant itself, where the lighting is poor (we had a visually impaired person eating).

15/01/2026: Very disappointed with our last visit. We waited 40 minutes to be served. A children's meal arrived: pasta with minced steak. The pasta arrived with 2 cm of water in the bowl-shaped dish. It was sent back to the kitchen. It came back cold and in one solid block (no oil). We couldn't even get a drink. I have a lot of reviews on Google, and this is one of the first times I've posted such a negative review. Something to think about for next time.

24/02/2026: This was our third visit and we're just as happy as before. The food is delicious (and homemade!). The waiter is very pleasant and smiling. There aren't too many tables, so it's quite quiet (compared to other very noisy restaurants). We highly recommend it!
