01/04/2026: A very good restaurant in its category. I loved the set menu: mussels (marinière style) – fries cooked in beef fat – chocolate waffle – drink – coffee. The service was quick, both for taking our order and for the food to arrive. The mussels were generous and delicious, the fries were tasty, the waffle light, and the chocolate was mouthwatering. All for €26. What more could you want? The coffee wasn't a Nespresso, but it was good and served with a speculoos biscuit (a must in Flanders).

01/04/2026: This is our third year vacationing here in Malo, and one thing remains constant: the smiling mussel. But it doesn't smile for long, because it's so fresh and quickly devoured, just like the seafood aperitif and the fantastic dessert (crème brûlée and dame blanche) at the unbeatable Formule, which would make even a king (roi de la mule) envious. What's constant is the high quality of the food, the charming service (I feel like I've known these guys for three years and watched them grow up, albeit not in a muscular way), and the price of the Formule or le Formoule rit. I've said my goodbyes until next year.

02/04/2026: A wonderful experience at La Réserve bar in Lille. I particularly enjoyed the signature cocktail, the "Réserve Spritz," which was perfectly balanced and refreshing. Our waiter, Julien, was warm and attentive throughout the evening. The decor blends elegance with a cozy atmosphere and very pleasant, soft lighting. It's an ideal place to relax with friends and enjoy a convivial and sophisticated experience.

05/04/2026: We chose this place for a midweek lunch with colleagues. It was busy (the restaurant was full) but the wait for service was reasonable. I ordered the faluche menu, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The service was good. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I recommend it.

06/03/2026: I've always loved this place; it's a very pleasant spot. I adore the concept and its commitment, and I've been coming for years. Unfortunately, on my last few visits, I was particularly disappointed by the welcome I received from one person whose attitude was very unpleasant. I can certainly understand and empathize with people experiencing stress or heavy workloads (we've all been there), but that should never be an excuse to speak rudely to someone. I don't usually like to leave negative reviews, but I find this truly regrettable.

11/04/2026: A warm welcome! You feel right at home at Switch, but you go there mainly for the delicious, hearty, and excellent food! The waitress is efficient and always smiling! Special mention to the chef 🧑‍🍳, who cooks homemade dishes that will delight your taste buds! He even comes out of the kitchen to serve dishes during the busy service hours! This is rare for a chef, and it gives us the opportunity to congratulate him and chat with him! See you soon to the whole team!

08/04/2026: Lilliputian, really… what a huge disappointment. At noon I'm there, full of hope and action. But twenty-five minutes pass in a long sigh, Before the plate finally dares to reach me. And then, astonishment: the dish seems like a joke, A Camembert so tiny it borders on magic. I thought I was seeing an appetizer, not the main course, Its size was such an insult to the anticipation. Fourteen euros for this? The audacity is undeniable, This borders on outright fraud. An elegant theft, without disguise or pretense, Like a museum robbery in broad daylight.

18/03/2026: We arrived at this small café on the Bergues town square on a Sunday afternoon. There were two tables outside, but we decided to sit inside. At the bar, the manager and a waitress greeted us, but neither acknowledged my greeting. I thanked the other customer at the bar who did. We sat down at a small table in front of the bar. There were four people at the bar and a couple eating. The owner never looked at us, not even a glance; we were invisible. The waitress put away the chairs on her terrace but didn't look at us either. We sat for at least 15 minutes. My friend answered a few emails. And then we finally got up. Do you think the owner would have called us over and apologized? Not at all; she acted as if we weren't there. We've discovered a superpower: invisibility! So unless you're curious to see if you have a superpower too, just keep walking. Luckily, there are other cafes in Bergues.

09/03/2025: Great lunch stop on the way back to the UK. Worth the 9 minute diversion. I had crab croquettes and fresh seafood risotto, my husband had the fois gras and steak frites.

09/04/2026: Reasonable price for the location. Very friendly waitress (Laurence) but cold and unfriendly waiter. It was good.

06/04/2026: Disappointed. Around 8 pm this Sunday, with only six of us in the restaurant, or rather bistro, we waited a while for our dish, a carbonnade. It arrived cold, but the fries were hot. It's a shame because it was good, but we had to ask them to reheat the meat. That's unacceptable for such a small number of people.

18/02/2026: My needs - To sleep peacefully and restfully for a very important business trip My experience - Very disturbed sleep in the morning; room 226 is best avoided. - Small but still functional room. - No exceptional toiletries, but adequate. No dedicated shampoo, everything in one container. - A few small items for tea in the room. - Friendly welcome and service, 10/10. - Good breakfast at 6:00 AM, nothing bad or exceptional. Positive point: the hot food was quite good. Negative point: at this price, I expected freshly squeezed orange juice. Perhaps even a manual juicer. - I didn't have the opportunity to evaluate the rest; it wasn't on my itinerary. In detail My stay was bad. My room was opposite the first set of stairs. The floor is occupied by residents with very specific schedules, so there was a lot of noise from footsteps, people going up and down the stairs, doors closing, and general sounds of daily life, mostly when they were going to bed or leaving (10 PM and 5:30 AM). There wasn't any extraordinary noise, but the soundproofing was nonexistent; they seemed to be inside the room. Room 226 is to be avoided at all costs; it's very poorly located. At 6:00 AM, I spoke with the administration, but I had missed my sleep, so no possible solution to remedy this inconvenience was considered. If I stayed another night, the administration would change my room.

We felt pampered without ever being intrusive. It's a true pleasure to be served by such a dedicated team. As for the cuisine, it's pure delight. Each dish is meticulously prepared with high-quality ingredients and impressive technical skill. The flavors are perfectly balanced, and the presentation is magnificent. The icing on the cake: the chef is incredibly kind. He took the time to greet each table with a humility and warmth that truly made a difference. You can feel his passion and love for his craft in every interaction.
