23/06/2026: We went there with an association. Everything was great. The service, the food, the welcome, and the music. Drinks were served without us even asking. Beautifully presented dishes, generous portions, and delicious...from appetizer to dessert. A lovely place.

17/07/2026: Excellent bistro! You'll find all the iconic dishes of the North. Other more traditional recipes are given a successful twist. The portions are generous, and the food is very tasty. The price is more than reasonable.

12/07/2026: Hello. Second visit to Balsamic. We were disappointed. Minimalist menu. The servers, although friendly, seemed overwhelmed. No details about the dishes. We had a starter to share. It was okay (burrata) with the aperitif. However, the main course was disappointing: Minion steak and vegetables. The vegetables were waterlogged and covered in sauce. The water and sauce mixture didn't hold its shape on the plate. It wasn't appetizing. The Caesar salad was nothing like a Caesar salad: three baby gem lettuce leaves cut in half, one egg cut in half, and a few cherry tomatoes. €23 for the salad. A bit pricey for salad and an egg. They should really reconsider the name of this salad. This place also needs some tidying up. We were seated on the terrace next to an unkempt area. I think a trip to the dump is in order; the ambiance and appearance clearly warrant some attention. To finish, we had a double espresso. It tasted like a coffee infusion. Served in a tiny bowl. In short, we were disappointed with this meal.

23/06/2026: Hello, I had heard great things about your pastry shop, but now I understand why the young saleswoman didn't show me the pavlova! It was supposed to serve 6 people at 5 euros a slice. It wasn't tall enough, the fruit was minimal, and look at the size (if I may add a photo), it was the size of my hand...it's shameful, barely enough for 4 people, if that. In response to your message left today, I didn't see the dessert because I was only shown a box tied with string. So, I'm not questioning the price of the cake, but the size! As for the pavlova recipe, the meringue isn't flat but hollowed out, not filled with 1 cm of cream and a few scattered fruits. It's a shame you don't consider the quality and quantity of your pastries. Sincerely.

26/08/2026: Good reviews, but mixed. Company stay for a seminar. The accommodations are average, a bit outdated, and lack maintenance. The bedding needs replacing. The lakeside restaurant could use some improvement in food quality. Despite this, there are many activities available nearby. The seminar room was clean. The setting is peaceful, surrounded by nature. The staff is very friendly. The entire site could use some renovation.

28/07/2026: We called at 1:30 PM to ask if it was still possible to eat (a couple with a baby and a child). The receptionist told us the kitchens closed at 1:30 PM, so we apologized for the inconvenience, but she said, "Okay, hurry up." We took it in stride and arrived in 5 minutes. The receptionist was charming and kind. The cook, who was serving a table next door, came over to us and became aggressive. Because of us, she would have to eat late, not before 3:30 PM, because she would have to do our dishes. It's the same every weekend. Without her, we wouldn't have eaten anywhere else. If we had been offered a table at 2:00 PM at another establishment (a bit late for the children, though—a nearby restaurant), or we would have gone to the office in Saint-Omer, which is open continuously, we would have left. We felt like leaving, and we should have! My daughter's hamburger was cold (she didn't eat it), my zucchini was cold, my meat was barely cooked, and the fries weren't fresh... we were so disappointed and indignant at her reaction! She could have just told us, "No, sorry, the kitchen is closed," she wasn't the only place open!! And this restaurant is very poorly named; there's nothing exotic about it.

18/07/2026: The place is always pleasant. I was disappointed by the "dish of the day" lunch, which was bland and lacked flavor for such a high price! For a vegetarian dish, I expected more pronounced flavors.

The place is beautiful; it's a renovated old house in Bergues. The only negative point is the noise in the dining rooms, but I think that's due to the layout of the place.
