05/02/2026: Stopping for the restaurant was a mistake I won't repeat! The welcome was perfect, but far too expensive for the quality and quantity of the meal. Catering services are better. I think that's the area that needs improvement.

30/01/2026: Restaurant with a set lunch menu. The service was fine, however, the quality and presentation of the food left much to be desired; there were no fresh ingredients, not even the bread. It was truly uninteresting.

07/02/2026: The owner was friendly and kind, we stayed one night and that was more than enough! There's a huge need for renovation to justify charging €110 a night! (Intermittent hot water, poor quality bedding, musty-smelling towels), the bedroom door was difficult to open – perhaps they should provide a crowbar at reception? 🤔 At breakfast, the owner, always very kind, seated us at a table, but his daughter came in yelling that we shouldn't sit there 🤔 Coordination is essential in this kind of work... Still in the same aggressive tone, she told us "you have to go there"... if you don't want to do this job, you shouldn't do it, especially when you have a hotel in this state of disrepair, restored in 1930, and even then! 😂 Afterwards, we paid around €160 (breakfast included!). His daughter wants us to pay another 30 euros for breakfast, even though it was already included with the room. And when we point it out, she haughtily tells us, "Well, that's fine, we don't charge anyone," and walks away... 🤔 Something's not right here. The location certainly helps fill a hotel in this state! It's blatant robbery at that price; I think 30 euros a night would be a much better rate for this establishment. Absolutely avoid this place—the worst hotel we've ever stayed in!

24/01/2026: Very welcoming hosts, they went out of their way to accommodate a special diet, and were very friendly. A very cozy corner by the wood-burning stove. It was wonderful to be able to sleep in a 14th-century building!

06/03/2026: A very warm welcome, a perfect and generous dinner, very pleasant management, and a wonderful indoor and outdoor setting.

25/02/2026: Good hotel and friendly welcome. Worth doing.

17/03/2026: The service needs improvement. It's very expensive: €10 for a mediocre kebab with fries and a spoonful of harissa sauce. 👎

12/03/2026: Arriving in March, we were "forced" to eat outside even though the weather wasn't great. We insisted on being inside, and they told us, "Do what you want!" (There was no one there, it was 12:30 pm). We sat down inside and overheard the waiter and the owner in the kitchen talking about us and the fact that we hadn't wanted to sit outside (in the wind). Quite the atmosphere! The food was good, but nothing special for the price. The service was mediocre (they cleared our plates while we were still finishing them). We felt like we were intruding, especially at 1:50 pm when they brought us the bill (even though we hadn't asked for it), card reader in hand, asking, "How would you like to pay?" The implication was clear: it was almost 2 pm, time to leave. We all work in the restaurant industry, and it would never occur to us to treat our customers like that. A bad experience at this establishment.

28/02/2026: As a customer for several years, I have never been disappointed; their food is always very good and the welcome is warm. They always have a little something extra when my son comes with me, it's so kind!

22/08/2025: I admit, it doesn't necessarily deserve 5 stars, but I gave it one for one detail: the atmosphere. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I was at my grandparents' house. As for the food: from the quiche Lorraine to the floating island, including the beef bourguignon, cheese, aperitif, wine, and a little coffee finish... all for two, for less than €60. Let's just say I left feeling light-hearted, with a full stomach, and a smile on my face. I wouldn't recommend it if you're the "fart-fart, I'm nitpicking because my fork has a trace of limescale" type... but if you're a bon vivant, with the "we're here to have a good time" attitude, then go for it!

04/02/2026: A fantastic campsite for the whole family! We've been going for 5 years and we're returning in July 2026. The staff are very friendly, the owner is super nice, and the site is great for parents and children. Thank you! 👍👍👍

29/03/2026: The waitress was very pleasant, but the meal was very disappointing: The meat wasn't cooked as requested. The side dish wasn't specified. The wait was quite long.

05/03/2026: On a weekend getaway in the area We had a lovely evening with friends for Valentine's Day. The set meal was delicious. The vegetarian meal I requested at the last minute for my daughter was also very good. Thank you so much for a wonderful time.

29/08/2025: It's a real shame that the shower and pool water temperature depends on how busy it is. We came on a day when it wasn't very crowded, and the shower water was freezing cold and the pool water less hot than usual. My daughter was shivering, her lips were blue, we had no choice but to leave, and we didn't even get a chance to warm up or relax in the shower... All this for full price... Truly disappointing

28/10/2025: I really like this place; the owners are friendly, the food is simple and very good. The café/restaurant is clean, and the music is discreet and well-chosen. Furthermore, the terrace gets plenty of sunshine, and the view of the thermal park is lovely. I recommend it without hesitation.

19/03/2026: As a regular customer, I came in last night, a little before closing time, and I was very disturbed by the way a manager (recognizable by her different t-shirt) spoke to an employee in front of the customers. The tone was inappropriate, and the situation was truly sad to witness. Respect and professionalism should remain essential, especially in public.

21/02/2026: A very pleasant place thanks to the friendly and welcoming staff, especially the young man who served us at the end of a busy day... generous and good quality cuisine, and finally, a beautiful view of the Roc and the start of the slopes – in short, a must-visit during a stay in Chastreix.
