03/05/2026: The wait was far too long: 1 hour for an aperitif. The frog leg dish took 1 hour and 45 minutes to arrive; it was undercooked and overpriced for what was on the plate.

29/06/2026: After a 30-minute wait, with six people waiting to eat, the waiter brought a goat cheese salad. The salad was rotten, black, and decomposing. I discreetly went into the dining room to ask him to change it, saying it was inedible. He brought me another salad with even more rotten lettuce and asked if everything was alright. I told him to look at the state of the salad. He replied that he couldn't see anything and left. When it came time to pay, thinking he was alone in the dining room, he started insulting someone. Honestly, I won't be going back, especially not for €50.

28/03/2026: We had a business lunch. I didn't enjoy the appetizer, the main course, or the dessert; it's the first time this has happened to me in a Michelin-starred restaurant. Furthermore, the service was, to say the least, unwelcoming. I'm disappointed.

17/03/2026: A perfect dinner with a friend... from the very warm welcome to the courteous and precise service, the cuisine was as beautiful as it was inventive, a true delight... it felt like tasting works of art... bravo to the whole team. And excellent value for money. Thank you again. I will definitely be back.

07/05/2026: The times I've eaten there, it was delicious and the service was top-notch. The low score is because I have stood in front of a closed door more often than I have eaten there. It is impossible for a tourist to find out online whether they are open or not. A real shame for such a nice place.

21/04/2026: I was passing through on business and stopped by by chance at lunchtime. What a joy to see that such a wonderful place still exists to eat good, homemade food at a reasonable price. Served with a smile and a great atmosphere... Honestly, thank you to the team at "Chez Julie"!!! Don't hesitate, stop by without hesitation. P.S.: Plan a little nap after your visit!!!

21/05/2026: Hotel very well located in the heart of La Bourboule. A good quality breakfast is available on site. Several restaurants are nearby. The room has been renovated and is well-equipped. The hallways and surrounding area are a bit dated.

29/12/2025: Very clean place, cleaned every morning. Very sophisticated, but one small detail: when you remove the pass, everything that's plugged in shuts off. Apart from that, it's perfect.

05/06/2026: A step back in time to an atmosphere of another era. A touch of nostalgia that feels good and is a far cry from burgers. The food is simple but very good. A word of advice: you must book ahead because a three-course meal (starter, main, cheese, dessert, wine, and coffee) for €18 per person is of this quality! Oh yes, and the portions are generous too. A lovely establishment.

19/05/2026: A warm and friendly place, seemingly untouched by time, where you can dine in a style reminiscent of the 60s and 70s. The food is excellent and plentiful. A place to remember if you're passing through Ambert.

14/05/2026: What a magnificent building! You step into a world brimming with charm, filled with antique objects, each with its own story. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is generous and offers a wide variety of products, including homemade jams. The value for money is exceptional! Let go and relax! Chat with the owners! It's truly enjoyable. We'll gladly return!

08/01/2026: A very disappointing experience at Auberge du Piory (Joserand). Upon our arrival, while it was snowing and freezing outside, the waitress made inappropriate remarks, offering a cold welcome and an irritated, disillusioned attitude. When I asked for the menu, I was told there was only one set menu, without the waitress being able to explain what it consisted of. The most shocking incident was a hygiene-related one: a customer entered with a dog that urinated right next to me. The waitress downplayed the situation, saying "it wasn't a big deal," and the urine was left on the floor, in the middle of a walkway. Several people stepped in it, and it was spread all the way to the kitchen. Between the lack of professionalism, the unpleasant welcome, and the clearly inadequate hygiene, this was a very bad experience. I will not be returning.

28/05/2026: A classic brasserie, the lunch menu is very limited, which is often a good sign. The grilled meat was decent, the fries were as good as they were mass-produced, and the accompanying salad deserved more than just half a cherry tomato. And what about the extra pepper sauce?! The service was nonetheless friendly and quick. However, what ruined my experience was the dessert. The ice cream, advertised as "Intense Madagascar Vanilla," was by far the worst vanilla ice cream I've ever had in my life: yellow, not a single vanilla bean, zero vanilla flavor. Even a simple tub of Carte d'Or ice cream would have been ten times better. I understand that costs need to be kept down and that the price is quite low, but it wouldn't take much for a much better meal: homemade fries, a slightly more substantial salad (a few shredded carrots, one or two cherry tomatoes, and a few kernels of corn), including the dressing. And a better ice cream supplier.

19/05/2026: Lunch on the terrace. Pleasant spot. Steak/fries/salad for €17: perfect. Not disappointed, good food. Quick and friendly service. One drawback: the excessive price of the draft beer at €8.30 (half the price of the dish): a shame about this pricing error!

28/10/2025: I really like this place; the owners are friendly, the food is simple and very good. The café/restaurant is clean, and the music is discreet and well-chosen. Furthermore, the terrace gets plenty of sunshine, and the view of the thermal park is lovely. I recommend it without hesitation.

27/06/2026: Frankly, we were disappointed with the food. We opted for the brunch menu, and it was dry and lacked sauce. The French toast was reheated. The hot drinks were good, and we had to ask twice for ice. It's a shame about the setting, as the location and ambiance are quite pleasant.

22/06/2026: Very disappointed with this brunch. The egg muffin was really dry and bland. Overall, the brunch was nothing special and not worth the trip. I don't think I'll be back.
