19/04/2026: A friendly establishment on Rue Joffre

21/02/2026: Please note that the Google rating was given for the bar, not the restaurant! Very poor dining experience this Friday at lunchtime. - Short but difficult-to-understand menu - Starter: The soy-marinated eggs were overcooked and barely marinated, the mini okonomiyaki was tiny and tasteless, and the "stir-fried broccoli with soy sauce" was simply overcooked broccoli barely warmed through with a drizzle of soy sauce. - Main course (gyoza and rice): The vegetarian gyozas were good, but ours were burnt on the bottom. The rice was overcooked. - Dessert: The matcha fondant was too rich and cloying. In short, nothing about this meal was right. I'm sorry to say this, but it's really unacceptable to sell this kind of food, even at €16 for the set menu (which all fits on one plate). We rushed back, relying on the 4.4/5 Google rating. What a disappointment... On top of that, you have to pay at the bar for drinks ordered and consumed at your table. So you have to make two separate payments. A strange practice indeed.

28/06/2026: A wonderful experience! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the establishment was a premium place to relax and enjoy the food. The dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. It was a hit with everyone in our group! P.S.: Pictured is the confit bavette steak with shallots and fresh pasta.

31/07/2026: Fancy a meal at a nice restaurant? L'Ardoise des Saveurs is the place to go 😉 It has a lovely terrace and an air-conditioned dining room. I highly recommend it 😊

27/09/2025: Misunderstanding: I called in early September to make a reservation for nine people for a birthday party. They explained to me that we could only eat sweets, which I readily accepted. When I arrived at the reservation time, a sign indicated that the restaurant was closed. I decided to go inside and was told that the restaurant had been closed for several weeks. I can only advise you to have a plan B if you make a reservation at this establishment. Because managing to find a table for a birthday party for such a large group is nothing short of miraculous... This is an unprofessional establishment; I do not recommend it.

07/09/2025: A must-visit when we come to Pornic. The taste, and nothing but the taste, of strawberry. Cone or sundae, we've tried everything, it's incredibly good.

01/07/2026: Away from the port, near the train station, a happy accident. In the middle of a heatwave, we received a warm welcome from a friendly and efficient waitress. This is a working-class restaurant with delicious homemade food. That day we enjoyed a wonderful skate with capers and shellfish sauce... a buffet of very fresh crudités, charcuterie, and seafood, cheese or dessert, and a quarter bottle of wine included in the €15.50 set menu. If we return to Le Pouliguen, we will definitely stop by! 🙂👍

26/05/2026: I ordered a dish with sauce and was asked for vegetables or fries. I chose the fries, which unfortunately were swimming in sauce. In short, really not great.

17/03/2026: A very warm welcome. The setting is lovely and well-decorated, and the atmosphere is friendly. A good selection of starters, main courses, and desserts. Coffee is included in the menu. Excellent value for money. Thank you to the team at Le Charles! We'll be back!

03/05/2026: A wonderful experience! The chocolates are excellent, but it's the service that truly makes the difference. The sales assistant is exceptionally kind, always smiling and genuinely attentive. She gave me invaluable advice on personalizing my gift boxes. I highly recommend it!

20/04/2026: This restaurant deserves five stars! The waitresses are incredibly friendly; you're greeted with smiles as soon as you walk in. The dishes are delicious and original. Kudos to the kitchen! I often go here with my daughter; we meet for lunch. Don't change a thing!

22/08/2026: This bar/restaurant is seriously overcharging on the bar side of things. The prices are high... €5 for a pastis?! And the beer... since there's only one on the menu (!) is expensive and served in a paper cup. It's clear the café isn't a priority... okay, the place is nice for the view, but it's still a paved terrace in Tharon-Plage... where all the other bars and outdoor cafes nearby show much more respect for tourists and locals like myself. Keep walking. ****** Oh no, I just left a review... and I realize, reading the others, that I'm likely to get a lot of flak in return... apparently, when you leave a negative review for this establishment, you get a very poor reception... A bit like the service itself, in short...
