25/09/2026: A very enriching experience for us, being big kebab lovers. Our taste buds were certainly satisfied. After class at lunchtime, we went there, ventured into the unknown, and discovered something wonderful. I thank the chef for creating this kebab, which is so beautiful and so delicious. Trust me, go for it! The kebab is excellent, and the fries are too.

07/09/2025: We had lunch at L'Orée du Bois a week ago. We really enjoyed the setting. We had a table inside, which is clearly a few years old but well-maintained and in very good condition. The dining room is elegant and quiet. We had a lovely view of the terrace, which was very green and beautiful. However, the food was disappointing, especially considering the price. The amuse-bouches were pleasant, but the rest of the meal didn't live up to expectations. The main course was sea bass with beurre blanc sauce, presented in a style reminiscent of 20 or 30 years ago. The dessert consisted of figs that had absolutely no flavor. Truly none, which is surprising given that these fruits are at their peak ripeness at this time of year. The service was unfriendly, unavailable, and gave the impression of being forced to work without any enjoyment. We agreed that this beautiful setting deserved a refresh of the culinary offerings.

13/09/2026: Horrible place, we weren't even served. After a 20-minute wait, thankfully the bar next door served us in less than 2 minutes.

02/09/2026: Quite disappointed. While the restaurant in the village is indeed large and pleasant, and the servers are friendly, that's not enough. Prices have increased significantly for a quality that is more than mediocre and smaller portions. It's no longer worth the trip. The Carolingian restaurant will be missed by the residents of Saint-Phil and the surrounding area…

09/09/2026: I used to come to this establishment regularly, and I find it a bit disrespectful that they didn't specify that it was closing permanently instead of indicating that it would reopen in mid-August after their holiday break. It's a shame; I enjoyed this place.

22/04/2026: A pub called Guinness Serving Guinness with an unsuitable tap Honestly, not good, especially at €8 a pint! The answer: the Guinness had no taste, no texture in either the beer or the head, nothing like a Guinness. If it's not the tap, then your keg is watered down; I can't see any other explanation.

13/09/2026: After tripping over the parasol base, which was on the sidewalk and right in the middle of the walkway, the waitress, to whom we pointed out how dangerous it was, simply replied, "Good morning, sir." Because I was so afraid of falling, I didn't say "Good morning, madam" before telling her it was dangerous. Despite this, we received no apology or even a "Goodbye, sir" when we left.

21/09/2026: The service was a disaster 😱😡🤯 Aggressive, shouting service, no time to look at the display and choose. A customer shouldn't be yelled at and treated like that. This is my third time here, and it's the same thing every lunchtime. It's far too small for the number of customers. Separating the queues like in other Angers stores or changing the staff wouldn't be a bad idea. Avoid at all costs

11/09/2026: Beautiful location. The cocktails and food were excellent. The staff were very charming. One small drawback: the manager should consider a different career given his unsociability and unpleasant behavior.

11/09/2026: I discovered the terraces of La Gournerie at my friends' wedding. Unfortunately, the manager's behavior spoiled part of the evening: he was particularly unpleasant, overbearing, and constantly on our backs, even grabbing our arms as we walked in with our drinks, afraid of damaging his parquet floor. One can understand the constraints of a venue, but the way guests are treated, especially at a wedding, is essential. We felt more like we were being watched than welcomed. I am especially sorry for the bride and groom, who deserved to fully enjoy their day without having to endure such a burdensome attitude. Special mention, however, to the other members of the team, who demonstrated professionalism.

13/08/2026: Excellent cuisine enhanced by a very warm welcome from the manager, all at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this friendly restaurant.

08/08/2026: It's always a pleasure to come to this restaurant for dinner or lunch; the food is excellent and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

22/09/2026: I ordered a chicken panini but they were out, so I ended up with a chicken wrap with samurai sauce (which was actually white sauce). The chicken had a strange taste and the salad was an odd color. Avoid this place. If you want a good kebab, go to La Gazelle.

11/08/2026: Great little taco place. Very quiet, especially at 11 pm. They serve quickly, cleanly, and with great care. I highly recommend it.

16/06/2026: Big disappointment today... Carli's just informed me this Tuesday that the Father's Day brunch is cancelled... the reason given is the HEATWAVE... I have 4 days to find an alternative... luckily the heatwave isn't preventing other places from opening.
