29/03/2026: The table service was very good, however, the meal was completely cold, from the fries to the hamburger. We arrived at 2 pm hoping to avoid the crowds, which was indeed the case. The restaurant was in a catastrophic state: dishes everywhere, tables not cleared, and a very dirty floor. It's a real shame; it's changed a lot.

20/09/2025: Strange...we stopped attracted by the mussels and fries sign...but the owner told us that there weren't any, that it wasn't the right time! Yet it was September...we decided to stay and take the €14.50 menu. The pancake had cheap ingredients and the dessert crepe was only cooked on one side and the cheap sweet cider was hot. In short, avoid it.

21/12/2025: Be warned, the tacos are extremely dry, without a single drop of cheese sauce. Make sure you have at least 1 liter of water on hand to finish them. On the plus side, they're quite full, which is something.

28/09/2025: Lovely boulangerie in the heart of Vannes. Huge variety of excellent products, I highly reccomend the pear and chocolate tarte, it's delicious !!!

08/04/2026: We came for a short break, and the hotel room was fine, the only downside being the poor soundproofing. Regarding the restaurant (for dinner), the menu was very tempting. Unfortunately, the menu promised too much for what we actually got. However, the waitstaff were very charming and professional! The service was almost up to the standards of a fine dining establishment, but the food didn't live up to them, which is a real shame. As for the spa, it was truly excellent! However, renovations were underway, which might inconvenience some guests.

08/04/2026: The hotel is very outdated and unclean. The room and bathroom are small, the bedding is very uncomfortable, and there are splashes on the walls. The balcony is covered in cobwebs and rust. The hotel is under construction, so it's very noisy from 8 am onwards, making it impossible to get any rest. This wasn't mentioned when I booked. I don't recommend the restaurant. The food is basic and doesn't justify the prices on the menu. The only positive point is the spa, which is very well-equipped and modern. The water temperature is very pleasant. The view of the lake is beautiful.

26/03/2026: Okay for one night. Breakfast was fine. However, the staff wearing hijabs was completely inappropriate, and the auto-tuned Arabic music at breakfast was unbearable. We're in France, not in the land of Islam.

21/03/2026: We arrived at 2 a.m. after a flat tire, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! Breakfast is rather limited, but the idea of ​​making your own pancakes is fantastic! The rooms were clean and comfortable, no complaints at all.

The view over the Gulf of Morbihan is breathtaking, especially at sunset. The dishes are delicious, generous, and prepared with fresh ingredients. You can taste the chef's passion in every plate: the flavors are spot-on, the cooking is perfect, and the presentation is elegant without being overdone. Special mention goes to the desserts—a true delight! The service is impeccable: friendly, attentive, and always offering helpful advice. You feel welcomed with genuine warmth and simplicity, which makes all the difference. 15/03/2026: Very disappointed. Cold welcome, tasteless pizza dough that resembled anything but pizza dough. This pizzeria used to be very good. I do not recommend it.

31/01/2026: We hadn't planned a lunch break, so we stopped at 2 pm for some galettes and we weren't disappointed. The terrace had a lovely view, and the galettes and crêpes were delicious. The service was quick and the prices were very reasonable for the location.

15/02/2026: We booked a table for two last night, February 14th, 2026, for Valentine's Day... We arrived and found the door locked! 😡 Imagine our surprise! We had come all the way from Concarneau. How could they leave their customers stranded without any warning?! What a lack of professionalism! I don't understand! We went to nearby restaurants, most of which were, of course, fully booked. But they told us that this was typical behavior at this restaurant... Luckily, a competent and professional restaurateur took us in. He saved our evening, which was much better thanks to him.

02/12/2025: This was our second visit to Surcouf and we love it. Service was friendly and efficient and all the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Duck pâté, fish sharing board, sole and steak all fabulous… Thank you!

02/01/2026: We stopped at this bar during a bike ride. Needless to say, the break was short-lived. From the moment we arrived, the place gave a mixed impression: lots of cats, a very unpleasant smell, and a rather unwelcoming reception from the owner. She served us the Cokes we ordered, explaining that the labels were missing and there were visible traces of snails in the till—a rather unusual explanation, to say the least 😂. The table was dirty, the glasses unappealing, and the Coke cost €4. When we pointed out the price, the owner replied, "I don't give discounts, and I don't even want to work, yet I still open the bar," which pretty much sums up the atmosphere of the place. To get to the toilets, you had to walk through the house, where there was, among other things, a cat urine stain, which certainly didn't improve the experience. In short, this establishment is best avoided in its current state. It's a shame, however, because the outdoor setting is very pleasant and has real potential.
