23/05/2026: Deplorable reception and service

19/05/2026: We had a package for two nights including breakfast and dinner. The first evening, there wasn't much available despite the menu. Those who arrived last had no choice left. The quality of the food was very poor, except for breakfast. The next day, we didn't have dinner because apparently they hadn't received their delivery and had no supplies. The room was adequate, but it hadn't been cleaned. There were problems with the access badge every evening... The management was absolutely terrible; the worst Campanile I've ever stayed in!

08/03/2026: The dough was quite good, but there were far too few, if any, ingredients...the price is really exorbitant for a pizza with tomato sauce....

17/05/2026: Good evening, we arrived at 8:05 PM and the famous all-you-can-eat ham was nowhere to be found... the stock was gone... just like with the all-you-can-eat mussels before... and always around 7:50 PM. There were six of us, no more bread, and on top of that, you had to order your meals before 8:15 PM. And as for friendliness or a smile, forget it. It's becoming a complete mess. We're disgusted and it's clear, we won't be back.

13/05/2026: Exterior: Glass front, inviting interior. Interior: Modern and bright. The welcome was very good, although there was a slight hiccup at the till: why am I still waiting for the chef to say hello? As for the starters and desserts, they need improvement; they were dry and unappealing. Regarding the hot dishes, some vegetables were cold. I asked for them rare, but they were barely cooked. The buffets weren't even cleaned; there were fries on the floor, fries on the buffets, napkins, and papers scattered everywhere. There was no one in the dining room to clean. And yet, it's a beautiful establishment; it's a shame. The restrooms were clean.

14/04/2026: This canteen-style bistro (and even canteens are much cleaner) in Vannes (56) is a place to avoid! Filthy plates, equally filthy cutlery! Supposedly fresh fries... the meat was cooked fine, but the presentation was awful! The waitress described the sundae as Italian-style ice cream, which was just plain vanilla-flavored water ice with a red fruit coulis as bland as the ice cream itself. We were asked if everything was alright, and I explained that it wasn't—the disgusting plates, the cutlery, the ice cream... SHE replied, "Disgusting, don't exaggerate!" I showed her a photo, and SHE replied, "Besides, SHE took photos!" I know it's a tiring job, but the "SHE" part is unacceptable. And then, when we explained that Italian-style ice cream is made with cream, she replied, "Machine-made ice cream..." Okay, and the other customers were generally satisfied! And yes, people don't dare say what's wrong, even the woman at the next table said it wasn't great, and yet at the till, she replied, "How are you?" Normally, you take things into consideration, you even apologize, rather than saying stupid things. Open for only 8 days and this is already 3 negative reviews! Bravo! The 4 stars aren't based on the reviews of this little place in Vannes, but on all the Bistrot Régent restaurants combined, because some stand out for their presentation and their food.

23/11/2025: The Bolognese pizza was really awful. I've never seen a pizza like it—super thin, hardly any meat, and cheese only in the middle. At €13 a pizza, it's frankly ridiculous.

06/03/2026: We came for lunch as a group of four and were very disappointed. The mussels were bland, completely tasteless, and the foie gras was equally tasteless. For such simple dishes, it's truly disappointing. The service wasn't up to par either: the waiters barely spoke, making communication difficult. The restaurant was completely empty when we were there, creating a rather oppressive atmosphere. It's a real shame for an establishment that is otherwise very well located. If you're passing through Carnac, avoid it.

05/04/2026: Sorry, but this was a very disappointing experience. The meal was not worth the price! Our plates were sent back to the kitchen almost full because it was so bad. We felt like we were bothering them! The waitress shouldn't confuse efficiency and speed with what customers might perceive as aggression. We hadn't even finished our aperitifs before our main courses were already on the table... The desserts were also underpriced... We paid almost 20 euros more than in other restaurants for a comparable meal!!!

15/02/2026: We booked a table for two last night, February 14th, 2026, for Valentine's Day... We arrived and found the door locked! 😡 Imagine our surprise! We had come all the way from Concarneau. How could they leave their customers stranded without any warning?! What a lack of professionalism! I don't understand! We went to nearby restaurants, most of which were, of course, fully booked. But they told us that this was typical behavior at this restaurant... Luckily, a competent and professional restaurateur took us in. He saved our evening, which was much better thanks to him.

02/12/2025: This was our second visit to Surcouf and we love it. Service was friendly and efficient and all the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Duck pâté, fish sharing board, sole and steak all fabulous… Thank you!

25/06/2026: It was a disgrace to have to wait in line for 15 minutes on Thursday, June 25th, on the sidewalk in the blazing sun, when there were two sales assistants but only one serving customers, and a queue of at least 15 people. And to top it off, the pain au chocolat were half the size! This will be the last time I go back.

20/06/2026: What's going on?? Product quality is plummeting?? Arthur's baguette has become very mediocre indeed. How long will it last for the remaining employees who still have faith?? What a shame 😓

15/04/2026: A great place for sushi lovers! The rolls were fresh and flavorful, and the service was quick and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving good sushi.

15/04/2026: Just visited a beautiful coastal town, and on a whim decided to try some fresh sushi. It turned out to be absolutely worth it — warm, friendly service and incredibly fresh sushi that made the experience even more special.

30/11/2025: We received a very warm welcome! The menu was adapted to my dietary needs, the service was quick, the atmosphere was calm, and we enjoyed both of our meals :)

27/10/2025: Delightful little bar. We retired to the first open place on a Lundi, and stayed for 3 drinks and some fries waiting for the ferry. Waiter excellent, good drinks, and very entertaining selection of locals and staff. Would come back to the island just to have a few drinks!

08/05/2026: People will love it because there are so many different flavors. And we like that, that feeling of having choices. But the "Igloo" establishment is one of our least favorites. There are tons of ice cream shops in Brittany, and this one is at the bottom of the list. Not enough flavor, aroma, or scent. It's just ice cream from a bag. It's not bad, though, even if it can be a bit pricey for what you get. But it's just an ice cream shop that sells ice cream, but not real, creamy ice cream. Living in Brittany, we'd already had some there years ago, and we tried it again, but no, it's not for us. Good for others.
