07/09/2026: Rudeness personified! Terrible welcome, arrogant and annoyed attitude (we had two children and didn't speak fluent French). We specified that even though it was noon we wanted breakfast, they sat us at a table they said was set for lunch. They removed the place settings (silverware), served coffee, and while we were still eating, the very friendly owner literally snatched the paper napkin from under my hand and entered the restaurant. I told her, shocked, that I had already used it, and she replied that she had thrown it away, that the table was set for lunch, not breakfast. I told her that we had clearly specified that we wanted a petit dejeuner, and she responded with a seraphic smile that her colleague hadn't understood. So what? You take away a napkin I'd already used during breakfast out of spite? I'm speechless! I've never seen such rudeness.

16/03/2026: I've never been there, but I've always heard great things about it. I wanted to eat there for lunch today, but apparently it's been permanently closed since Saturday. What a shame!

07/03/2026: A wonderful discovery in Venette! Le Méga is a restaurant that pleasantly surprises. From the moment you step inside, you're immersed in the ambiance of a Savoyard chalet, with plenty of wood, warm decor, and intimate spaces reminiscent of mountain inns. The atmosphere is friendly and truly refreshing, especially considering it's so close to Compiègne. The dining room is very clean, well-maintained, and comfortable, with tables equally suited to group meals and quieter dinners. The menu offers generous and delicious French cuisine: beautiful cuts of meat, cheese specialties, regional dishes, and a few perfectly executed classics. You can tell the food is made for pleasure, simple yet satisfying. Special mention goes to the exceptionally friendly and attentive service. It's the kind of place where you quickly feel at ease. A welcoming spot where you can have a wonderful time, and where you'll naturally want to return.

Here, it's pure French tradition, with perfectly executed dishes, beautiful ingredients, and top-quality cuisine. The service is simply exceptional: professional, attentive, and warm. You immediately feel at ease, and the atmosphere fully contributes to the enjoyment of the evening. A truly wonderful place that we were delighted to discover and that we recommend without hesitation.

07/07/2026: The restaurant has been permanently closed for several months now, as indicated by the sign. So we were out of luck, since we relied on Maps which showed it as open!
