09/10/2025: My wife and I had our wedding here from Thursday to Sunday. Château de Frétoy is a fairytale-like location. Tucked away behind the vineyards of world-famous wine villages, you'll find the charming chateau after a scenic drive along the Route des Grands Cru. Surrounded by a beautiful estate, you immediately get an authentic, French, and dreamy feeling. It's not a 5-star hotel, but that's not what you want for your wedding. Chateau de Frétoy has everything you DO want. First of all, the smooth communication with the warm-hearted owners, Geert and Renche. They speak Dutch, English, and French, and they make all the difference. Even before our first visit to the chateau, I knew: if we do it here, it'll be perfect. They were helpful and creative during the preparations; with their experience, you can really trust them to know what's important and what's not for a successful wedding. They were incredible in their execution. We encountered real challenges (not wedding-related) and were deeply impressed by how Geert and Renche handled their needs and helped us. It became clear to us what they are like as people, and we're incredibly happy we chose them for our wedding. You could say we had a dream wedding, and yes, with sunny October weather! A relaxed walking dinner on Thursday, a tennis and pétanque tournament and pizza party on Friday, and a fantastic wedding day on Saturday. Château de Frétoy is an absolute must for anyone looking for a memorable wedding weekend in Burgundy.

24/09/2025: In early September, we celebrated the wedding of my dear friend and her boyfriend at this beautiful chateau. From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by the surroundings—truly breathtakingly beautiful and perfectly suited to the romance of the day. The chateau itself exudes coziness and charm, with all the amenities you could wish for. The beds were truly TOP-NO-NO (with a capital "TOP"), and the showers and toilets were also spacious, clean, and comfortable. Everything exuded care and quality. What a special and atmospheric place to celebrate love, a memory you'll never forget!

28/02/2026: We dined last night at L'Ecrin restaurant. We had a wonderful time: everything was perfect. A professional and attentive welcome, impeccable service, and of course, highly creative cuisine with perfectly balanced flavors. A true pleasure for both the palate and the eyes, thanks to the beautiful presentation of the dishes. We particularly recommend the pearly langoustine with Oscietra caviar and especially the Bresse chicken cooked in a spatchcock style.

19/02/2026: A wonderful experience! I've dined at several Michelin-starred restaurants, and I think this one will definitely be in my top 10. The welcome was perfect, the service impeccable, and the food was truly delightful. We opted for the wine pairing, and again, it was excellent. I think we'll be back.

You know exactly what you're eating. The traceability of the meats is indicated at the end of the menu. Nothing to complain about. I highly recommend it.

I was able to enjoy my famous lasagna again: still as delicious as ever!! The accompanying salad was a delight, and the bread and desserts were all excellent. The welcome was as warm and friendly as ever, with smiles always on the staff. A pure joy 😘 Thank you for having us for lunch today.

27/12/2025: Passing through Chalon-sur-Saône, we discovered this restaurant thanks to a friend's recommendation. We had come for just a drink, but thanks to Carl's exceptional welcome, we ended up spending the whole evening there! We enjoyed the famous homemade Burgundy snails, as well as the gratin bourguignon and tagliatelle with morels... everything was absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable, very professional, and warm. An exceptional experience we won't forget!
