09/05/2026: We had dinner there last night on the terrace. The setting is charming and pleasant. The set menu was €48 for a starter, main course, and dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The ingredients were fresh, expertly prepared, and perfectly seasoned. The chef, who also manages the service, is a true culinary artist who loves what he does and what he offers. A truly delightful experience for the taste buds.

06/04/2026: "We're going to eat at Aunt Isabelle's": it's not a restaurant, it's... a real family home, with home cooking like in the old days. Warmth and genuine hospitality, no frills (especially not for pretentious types), real homemade foie gras, homemade duck confit, and homemade desserts... Everything is unpretentious and you leave with a full stomach of simple, delicious food. You sit down on the chairs among the daisies to digest... after a little sip of "44" (a local beer). It's at Aunt Isabelle's! 👍

12/02/2026: Vegetable-based pizza without the listed ingredients and barely cooked. Next time, if you don't have arugula, replace it with lamb's lettuce; if you don't have sundried tomatoes, don't use frozen fresh tomatoes; and zucchini roasted in oil shouldn't be raw. In short, it wasn't great. We won't be back. The second goat cheese and honey pizza wasn't anything special either.

24/05/2026: I went there on a Friday at lunchtime; for €16.50 there was a good selection, simple, efficient!

After reading about Le Bistro d'en Face in Le Michellin guide we were excited to visit for dinner on the terrace overlooking the Dordogne river, and boy were we not disappointed! The food was excellent 👌,fresh ingredients, prepared simply but with panache. We both opted for the local delicacy of Canard de Foix Gras served with 2 variations of prune jus and a stick of homemade walnut bread. The Foix Gras was rich and buttery while the prune sauces balanced the dish with sweet sharpness. For my main course I opted for the smoked and grilled beef fillet, cooked medium rare to perfection with home cooked pomme frites, carrot puree, grilled spring onions and a creamy, savoury, borderlais type sauce. Dressed with pickled white mustard seeds it was a perfectly put together and well thought out plate. Well balanced, with no one component battling against the others. My companion chose the grilled turbot with samphire and lemon butter sauce served with a separate creamy pea rissoto and what looked like a parmesan crisp coloured with squid ink. The fish was cooked perfectly, delicate firm flesh with a beautiful light flavour. There is a reason the turbot is the king of fish! Well balanced fillet with a buttery, fatty edge meeting the crispy skin. Imagine salmon belly sashimi and you'll be close! The sauce was rich, sharp and complemented the fish well and the salty samphire balanced out the richness perfectly. Finally onto the last course. A selection of french cheeses was delivered to my side of the table, while a light and airy mousse au chocolat with a hazelnut crisp and strawberry sorbet was placed down opposite. The cheeses had clearly been left to breathe for a while as they were at the perfect temperature, creamy, soft and the clear winner was the goats cheese from the Pyranes, delicious! A close second was the firm, slightly golden cows milk cheese. I only tasted a small spoonful of my companions dessert, but what a spoonful....Rich, decedent and voluptuous. A chocolate lovers dream dessert. The house Rosé was better than average, somewhat let down by the plastic cooler sleeve. The food and the service were superb. A clear example of a restaurant with a small selection of dishes done to perfection. My only real criticisms were that we were expected to keep our cutlery for both our starter and main course. Why Le Bistro d'en Face???? This was disappointing for a restaurant with such a good reputation. Linen napkins and a fish knife for the turbot would have been nice additions, but not a necessity. All in all a great evening and highly recommended.

02/11/2025: Fantastic seafood buffet. Warm atmosphere, very friendly waitresses, and a very welcoming atmosphere. We'll be back. We returned and enjoyed ourselves just as much as before. The seafood buffet is still as delicious as ever, and the set menus are still as generous and tasty. The service is always perfect.

20/05/2026: The local produce is excellent and the food very good; we didn't try the foie gras at this restaurant. The atmosphere in the small street is typically charming for Sarlat. The chestnut mousse could have benefited from not being overwhelmed by the whipped cream, which we suspect is store-bought.

26/05/2026: A beautiful shaded terrace in the prettiest village in the area. Fabulous food (especially seafood) and friendly attentive service. Thank you! From my ten year old daughter- The starters were very yummy and the same with the main course, I would highly recommend coming here. I can’t help but think how incredibly hard it must be to run a business like this. The staff were also incredibly kind and I hope to come back soon.
