16/08/2026: It's best to make a reservation as it's often busy. The place is lovely, the owner is great, and the food is good. It's also a great spot for a drink on the terrace. I go there from time to time and it's always a good experience.

20/07/2026: There are restaurants that don't try to impress. They prefer to tell a story, the story of a region, a season, and a chef who takes the time to do things right. Chez Bonnebouche belongs to this group. Here, everything seems guided by the ingredients. The menu follows the rhythm of the seasons, everything is homemade, and this is evident in every dish. The cooking, especially of the fish, is remarkably precise: delicate, delicate, never showy. You immediately sense the hand of a passionate chef, more concerned with revealing flavors than masking them. And when autumn arrives, it's pure bliss. The slow-cooked dishes become culinary masterpieces: meltingly tender veal cheek, slow-cooked wild boar... Comforting, rich dishes that make you want to mop up every last drop. A sincere restaurant, demanding without being pretentious, where you return with the same pleasure each season. A true gem.

15/07/2026: I was pleasantly surprised overall, having stumbled upon it quite by chance, and discovered a traditional cuisine, respect for the customer, refined dishes, undeniably 100% homemade. I can't wait to return for another wonderful experience.

28/04/2026: Just having arrived in Monpazier, I walked in to Restaurant Eleonore late and without a reservation. Isabelle, the owner was very accommodating offering me a table even though it was at the end of their dinner service. The meal of filet of beef was delicious and the presentation wonderful. Danin my server was exceptional and anticipated my every need. I highly recommend dinner at Restaurant Eleonore.

27/12/2025: Christmas Eve: A refined and welcoming atmosphere. Impeccable service. The menu: sophisticated, refined, elegant, and absolutely wonderful. The quality of the ingredients is beautifully showcased by the chef and his team. Special mention goes to the duck breast Wellington. It was well worth the 1 hour and 15 minute drive!

04/08/2026: Wow! What a wonderful discovery La Halle Paysanne in Carlux was! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by smiling and welcoming waitresses, even without a reservation. The setting is superb, and the €29 set menu is simply exquisite: generous, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. In short, top-notch! You can go there without hesitation. Bravo to the entire front-of-house team and the chef in the kitchen!

27/07/2026: Bavette was good, the peppercorn sauce too watery and very overpowering. And the "salad"? Well, unimaginative as you can see in the photo, as well as the dressing with something that looks like balsamic vinegar. And that doesn't go well with fries. A milder, creamier peppercorn sauce would have been my preference. Better with the bavette *and* the fries. Friendly service.

01/05/2026: At the gateway to the Périgord Noir region, and surrounded by many (very) beautiful sights to see and visit, the location is already a major advantage! Add to that a team that is attentive, friendly, and always ready to help, and a restaurant that complements your visits with a selection of expertly prepared local products… your stay has everything to be perfect! The indoor heated swimming pool is a welcome bonus after a busy day! Our children, Mathias and Laura, and we ourselves have the spirit of this place etched in our memories! We hope to return with another little one :) All the best and thank you again for this wonderful stay!

17/07/2026: A delightful garden restaurant, well hidden but worth finding.

08/06/2026: Another new restaurant we've thought we'd try. Typically French, there's plenty of free public parking available. Vergt is a pretty town with plenty of independent shops although most were closed. First impressions; exterior, uninviting, on entry, dark, bleak and totally empty dining room. A very warm welcome from the front of house/ waitress. She asked, dud we want to sit inside or outside? We chose outside, which again was pretty sad really but there was another couple having dinner. Menu, typically French with a choice four starters, four mainsvand four desserts. We both chose beignets de crevetts which was lovely. I chose tatare de boeuf with salad and fries, very tasty but just too large a portion. My wife had canard with so many new potatoes, again tasty but too many potatoes. Desserts, chocolate fondant, lovely, and pistachio and peach served between thin pieces of filo pastry. It was a Saturday evening so you would have thought it would have been busy. Like so many local French restaurants they'll be lucky to survive particularly since Covid. There was just no atmosphere and a shame they're not supported locally. If you're a tourist staying in the area please try the restaurant, the food is really good. Would we come again? Good question. For the food yes, for the atmosphere no.

22/03/2026: Honestly, out of season, we were delighted to find a restaurant. It's expensive for a crepe, but oh well, the service was friendly nonetheless. Out of season, it's worth it!

20/08/2026: A McDonald's to treat the kids during the holidays. Everything is well prepared, and above all, the service is simply exceptional! A serious and quick team, clean premises. They changed the toy with a smile, and the icing on the cake was asking if everything was alright. For reasons of taste (I'm over 40), I can hardly give more than 3 stars for the food, but everything else was impeccable.

15/08/2026: Hello, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with our takeout order. We were quite surprised to find that the 6-piece Nuggets package only contained 3. We also noticed that the large fries were less filled than the small ones, which is very disappointing. Furthermore, we ordered two classic Cheeseburgers, but we received two different types of burgers that didn't match our order. We paid for specific items and ended up with an incomplete order and several errors. This is very disappointing, and based on this experience, I unfortunately don't plan to return to this McDonald's. I hope, however, that this feedback will be taken into account so that this type of problem doesn't happen again.

14/05/2026: Excellent from start to finish. We decided to spend the weekend there for three days, from Friday, May 8th to Sunday, May 10th. Pleasant setting, delicious food, comfortable rooms, welcoming and attentive staff. I have absolutely no complaints about this stay; I highly recommend it!

07/05/2026: We enjoyed an evening meal but did not stay in the hotel. The place is charming and in a secluded section of the village with good parking and access to shops and the river. Staff very courteous, meal was well prepared and presented, wines from the region were quite good.
