09/05/2026: First time here, but very disappointed despite the reviews. Everything you order arrives almost simultaneously. I ordered miso broth (broth, 2 slices of button mushroom, a sliver of seaweed, and a 1/2 cm cube of tofu) for €2.50. The shrimp salad was €11, and at first I thought, "Wow!" but then I realized it contained half a head of oak leaf lettuce, a quarter of an avocado, half a slice of a quarter of a tomato, and barely any shrimp, cut in half and then into two or three pieces so thin I didn't even know I was eating shrimp. That was it. The shrimp fritters, cut in half, were so flattened with breadcrumbs after frying that they were only 1/2 cm thick. The salmon maki rolls were a slight improvement. And when I ordered two dishes from the menu, they were sold out. I won't be going back.

12/01/2026: We had a very good meal. There was a large parking area for trucks and the staff was very friendly. The friendly server that evening spoke perfect English.

10/12/2025: We stayed overnight in our campervan. Despite the many trucks, it was very quiet. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

07/04/2026: It is a beautiful shopping mall which has recently acquired new signs and which allows us to make all our purchases in a pleasant and diversified way, because the commercial offer is important...moreover, many events are present there regularly!!!

03/05/2026: A completely impromptu stop during our motorcycle road trip, and frankly, it's exactly the kind of place you hope to find on the road without necessarily looking for it. The bistro-tabac, a real bistro like you hardly ever see anymore. Open on a Sunday, and for that alone, respect, and with that simple, authentic, unpretentious, but warm atmosphere. You immediately feel that it's a place where people live, not a cookie-cutter establishment. We arrived on our motorcycles, a little worn out, and were greeted naturally, without a forced smile, but with that genuine feeling that makes all the difference. The kind of place where you sit down and instantly feel at ease. My son uttered a phrase that sums it all up: "This is the best hot chocolate of our trip." And honestly, he's not wrong. A real hot chocolate, not some watered-down or powdered thing thrown together quickly. This one is generous, comforting, exactly what you need after a few kilometers. Another big plus: the bakery right next door. And we're not talking about a minor detail here. The vanilla éclairs are simply enormous—literally and figuratively. Generously filled, indulgent, and above all, delicious. Not cloying, not mass-produced, just perfect. This bistro + bakery combo is a real bonus. You can take a complete break without leaving home: coffee, hot chocolate, a little treat… everything is there. What I also appreciated is that it's genuine. It's not an "Instagrammable" spot, it's not a concept. It's a real neighborhood business, useful, vibrant, and rooted in its community. And that's becoming rare. For motorcyclists, it's definitely a good place to keep in mind. Easy to stop, relaxed atmosphere, no fuss. You can leave feeling refreshed, with the sense of having taken a real break, not just a fuel stop. In short, a very pleasant surprise on the road. The kind of simple yet memorable place that you stay in mind and recommend without hesitation. We'll definitely be back! 👍

04/05/2026: We went at lunchtime. We ordered the beef, but it lacked flavor because the meat wasn't seared. The cuisine is a bit dated, but it's good value for money. There was no steak knife. The service was a bit curt, and the atmosphere was cloister-like. It simply depends on personal taste; it wasn't to our liking, but we ate well.

14/06/2026: Arrived at 10:15 PM, restaurant closes at 11:00 PM. It's 11:00 PM and my order hasn't been served. I'm still waiting. It's becoming increasingly frustrating with the McDonald's in the Périgueux area. 11:20 PM, still no service. 11:30 PM, still nothing. Instead of tidying up and cleaning, the staff should be taking better care of the remaining customers.

09/06/2026: Excellent lunch. Tasty food. Nice dessert buffet with cream puffs for all tastes.

23/05/2026: Lacking in seasoning and flavor. The cheese plate cost €14 and consisted of three tiny pieces. Luckily, we had a set menu with two starters, two main courses, and two desserts, because if you only order a starter, main course, and dessert, you'll leave having eaten nothing. In fact, one of the two "desserts" was really just a small quenelle of ice cream with nothing else to it; I'd call it an amuse-bouche at best.

01/06/2026: I only went to the restaurant. The menu, written on a chalkboard, listed the starters and main courses: pan-seared foie gras escalopes and rack of lamb with a herb crust. Everything was very good! The only downside was that the side dishes weren't listed, and when I asked about one of them (mashed potatoes with small green pieces, served with the lamb), the waitress didn't know and had to find out. Despite two reminders, we never received an answer! That's why I'm deducting stars.

13/06/2026: What a pleasant surprise this inn was! A warm welcome, an excellent menu featuring seasonal produce, and unbeatable value for money. Generous portions. I recommend this inn 200%, it's less than 10 minutes from Hautefort Castle.

06/04/2026: Undercooked kidneys, pinkish yes, but raw?? 50 grams of kidneys for an à la carte dish and a quarter of a carrot? Neither good nor well-prepared, and on top of that, the portion was extremely small. Servers wandering around aimlessly, seemingly unaware of what they're doing. The worst value for money in the area, a rip-off for what's served at this price. In short, avoid at all costs. A complete joke.
