17/03/2026: I've had the opportunity to go to this café many times, to study or to have a drink with friends. The staff is warm and very welcoming. The service is quick and the servers are all pleasant. As for the food, it's good (the fries are fantastic), the mixed platters (cheese or charcuterie) are excellent and beautifully presented. The value for money is unbeatable; it's very affordable. I've always had a great time at Café de la Truffe. I can't wait to go back!

18/02/2026: We came during the spring festival and it's clear that this restaurant is a vital part of the lifeblood of the small village of La Douze! The food is high quality, we thoroughly enjoyed it!

16/02/2026: Arrived at La Douze on a Monday at noon. The first open restaurant I found. A complete meal: soup + charcuterie platter + short rib + profiteroles for dessert for 17 euros—you couldn't ask for better. The meal was very generous and the meat excellent. It's a shame the charcuterie platter only had 10 slices of rosette sausage, fewer slices of salami, but with a little terrine and a small slice of cured ham, it would have been perfect. Given the price, I can't complain. I enjoyed my meal and told everyone I did. Although the person who served me had lost their voice, their friendliness, good humor, and smile made for a very pleasant break. When it came time to pay, I received a second pleasant surprise: a glass of wine and a coffee were offered with the 17-euro menu. I highly recommend this place; I had a wonderful meal in a great atmosphere.

28/09/2025: Very good experience, quality and very generous dishes. Very friendly waiters. The only downside was that, since I hadn't finished my meal, I asked for a doggy bag, which they charged me €1.50 for without telling me beforehand. It's a shame to realize this after a long time.

20/02/2026: The welcome is warm and the setting very pleasant. The menu offers a good selection of dishes, with the option to customize your filling, which is a nice touch. A few points for improvement: The back room lacks light and feels a bit cramped. It's a shame, because the space could be more inviting. On the plate, the fillings don't always seem to live up to the crêpes (canned vegetables?), which is disappointing for a crêperie in the city center. The hot drinks, like the Viennese hot chocolate, taste diluted, as if they've been watered down. As for the orange juice, served half-full with four ice cubes, one can easily imagine what it would be like without them…it's a pity.

02/01/2026: Unfortunately, we received an appalling welcome. Not a greeting, not a glance, and then we were rudely dismissed when we asked a question. We turned on our heels and left.

27/12/2025: Christmas Eve: A refined and welcoming atmosphere. Impeccable service. The menu: sophisticated, refined, elegant, and absolutely wonderful. The quality of the ingredients is beautifully showcased by the chef and his team. Special mention goes to the duck breast Wellington. It was well worth the 1 hour and 15 minute drive!

We're used to dining at fine restaurants, some of which have multiple Michelin stars, but the welcome we received from the Eléonore team was undoubtedly one of the best we've received so far (whether on site upon our arrival, by phone for the reservation in advance, and of course during our meal). Thanks to the entire team, we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary successfully, and we'll remember our evening for a long time to come. The meal was a real success (with a vegetarian option available), and we'll remember the trio of crème brûlées as a lasting impression! A huge thank you for this memorable experience. 17/12/2025: We came as a family on Saturday, December 13th. We had a great time. The two people who served us were absolutely fantastic. We'll definitely be back. Keep up the good work! It's great to still have places like this where you feel right at home.

13/03/2026: We were very disappointed with the food. We went there for lunch and were not able to use terrace due to season i guess although the weather was nice. We chose a set and a prawn starter was ok but veal as main dish was really bad. It was a full of fat and so hard to chew. We really didn't know veal could have so much fat. Then they served the hot bread which I guess was reheat from microwave or oven. It remind me of a bread from plane. We didn't even touch it as it seemed not definitely freshly baked. We are in France and this region is even famous for food. All the restaurants we tried in Sarlat served fresh and good bread. I thought that was basic. The view was ok but not wow for us as you will see so many good view points around the region.
