21/07/2026: ⭐☆☆☆☆ Very bad experience at La Tortola in Saint-Laurent-du-Var. Upon arrival, no one greeted us or showed us to our table. We had to find our own seats at a table that wasn't even set: no cutlery, no napkins, no glasses. We ordered drinks, but after a 20-minute wait, they still hadn't arrived. However, the tapas platter was served before the drinks. I had to ask for the drinks to finally receive them. Once we had finished the platter and drinks, we ordered more. Same scenario: another 20-minute wait. The new drinks arrived, but the table wasn't even cleared. The empty glasses and dirty platter were left in front of us. We had clearly stated from the beginning that we would order a main course after the platter. No one brought us the menu; we had to ask for it. At the same time, we ordered two more drinks... which never arrived. After waiting even longer, we decided to leave. I asked to see the manager to calmly explain the situation. To my surprise, she tried to charge us for the two drinks we never received. When I pointed this out, the drinks conveniently arrived at that very moment. Her reaction was to say, "Give them to the table across the hall; they're very nice." Then she added, "If you're in a hurry, this isn't the place to eat." We weren't in a hurry. We were simply expecting normal service and a minimum of consideration. Such disorganization and such an unprofessional response from the manager are unacceptable. I unfortunately cannot recommend this establishment. And if I could give zero stars, that's what I would.

20/07/2026: A fantastic experience at Tortola! Since the new owner took over, everything has changed: a new decor with a great atmosphere, a very successful new menu, and a super friendly new team. Everything is really great, it's a pleasure.

08/07/2026: A refreshing drink and ice cream in the afternoon was superb. Caramel expression with the homemade cheesecake was to die for.

18/06/2026: The servers were super friendly, the diabolo was amazing, but the sweet and buttery crepe left something to be desired.

27/04/2026: The whole place is nice! We didn't always understand what the manager was saying, but the place was clean and the food was good.

30/06/2026: I'll try to be objective: from the moment we walked in, I knew we'd made the wrong choice. The welcome, the menu, the quality of the food… even a beach kiosk would be more credible.

03/07/2026: With a recent change of ownership, we decided to give it a try and we were absolutely delighted! Honestly, the delicious food and the owner's enthusiastic welcome made for a fantastic time! I highly recommend it!!

26/06/2026: Friday is aioli day! The cod was perfectly cooked, as were the vegetables. And the aioli sauce was delicious! 😋 The carpaccio and fries were also perfect. Ideal for lunch. Good value for money.

21/06/2026: The air conditioning is broken... I think it's been broken for a long time... frequented by a bunch of drunks... smell of all the smoking stuff in the indoor dining area... a shame because the home-style cooking is good

02/06/2026: Very disappointing. The pizzas were sparsely topped and burnt. It's not good value for money. I do not recommend this pizzeria.

29/05/2026: As a regular customer of this place, I was (for the second time) very disappointed by the delivered pizzas. The dough was rubbery, and the toppings were sparse. This is no longer the Bella Pizza I know. Is it a drop in quality coupled with increased sales? I won't be ordering again. What a shame.

30/05/2026: A very nice place with home-style cooking in the Menton hinterland, worth discovering for those who don't know it, near the Col de Turini.

12/05/2026: The food wasn't good, and the defrosted blueberry pie was just as bad.

11/04/2026: We ordered calamari Romana and a Niçoise salad. The calamari, as well as its breading, seemed to come from a poor-quality frozen product: it was bland and difficult to digest. The tuna in the Niçoise salad was also of poor quality, and the entire salad lacked appeal. The value for money is very poor. For a Niçoise salad costing €18.50, one expects something that does justice to Nice, without being exceptional.

15/02/2026: A warm welcome and perfect service. The food is delicious, made with fresh ingredients. The fish and vegetables were cooked perfectly, and the fries were homemade. We'll be back. Pascale and Laurent

01/07/2026: HOTEL TO AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! When I arrived at the hotel to check in at 7 PM, I tried desperately to contact the number on the front door. Someone finally answered on my fourth call. The "receptionist" gave me the code, and I retrieved my room key. Upon arriving in my room, I discovered the state of the sheets and the room itself. I asked for just the sheets to be changed, and after my seventh call, I was moved to a different room (see photos). Once that was done, I went to my second room, and the sheets were "a little" cleaner, but the shower curtain (mold) and my bath towel were in a deplorable state. I resigned myself to accepting the room since no other hotel was available that evening and decided to take a shower. I was shocked to discover there was no hot water, even though I had reported the problem when I changed rooms. In short, a superb night's sleep... even if this hotel is only 2 stars, I think it should be at least minimally clean. I should add that I'm not particularly fussy about comfort and cleanliness.

25/04/2026: We stayed at the Hotel La Victoire, located on Place du Grand Jardin, right at the entrance to Vence's historic center. It's a small, two-star hotel. It doesn't have private parking, but we were able to use the public underground parking garage opposite the entrance, which made arrival much easier. Inside, the layout is simple. We stayed in a double room. The room was clean, with a wardrobe and a handy storage shelf. The room was equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a functional bathroom. However, the shower could use some improvement: the curtain, although visibly cleaned, could do with being replaced. There's a small elevator for luggage. The soundproofing is effective: although the hotel directly overlooks a lively square with many restaurants, we weren't bothered by the noise once the windows were closed. Check-in and reception are handled by phone and text message, with the entry code sent to you so you can retrieve your room key. A simple continental breakfast is served on the ground floor each morning. This is a good value hotel that we appreciated for its convenience, as it allows you to explore the entire city on foot.

07/04/2026: I wanted to have lunch in the sun, but apparently I chose the wrong restaurant altogether, if you can even call it that. Supermarket-quality food served on a child's plate for an adult. Avoid Milanese at all costs, and probably the rest of the restaurant too, judging by the reviews I should have read before choosing this place. Avoid it, nothing more to say.

07/04/2026: Terrible food and completely unacceptable service. During the past Easter holidays, I visited with a group of friends and ordered the mussels menu. To my surprise, most of them were empty, and the few that had any content were clearly smaller than normal—something that’s hard to justify for a dish like this. When I raised the issue, the man serving us responded in a dismissive and unprofessional manner, mumbling in French and treating the situation with clear indifference before walking away without offering any solution. This is not the standard one would expect from any establishment claiming to provide quality service. Fortunately, a waitress did handle the situation properly and changed my menu, although by then the experience had already been affected. Overall, a very disappointing experience that reflects a clear lack of quality control in the kitchen and professionalism in service. Not a place I can recommend.

26/05/2026: Even after I told the waiter I had a nut allergy, asked about 5 times, translated what I was saying to French, and listed the specific tree nuts I can’t eat, the staff insisted that the whole kitchen was nut free. I can tell you that is FALSE. I had an allergic reaction to I think the pesto, so I can tell you that it definitely had nuts lmao. I had to leave the restaurant to use my epi pen so I wouldn’t die. When I came back and told the staff that they lied about it being a “nut free kitchen” and could have killed me they suggested that maybe I was just “nervous” about it and hallucinating symptoms. They did nothing to make up for their mistake and did not even apologize.

02/05/2026: Sour beer, tasteless lasagne, rib-eye steak was not that steak... Believe others, don't go here .....
