14/02/2026: A friendly, welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, imagination and creativity in the composition of the dishes, with innovative yet balanced and never unusual flavor combinations, and clearly mastered culinary techniques. The desserts are exquisite, being only slightly sweet. The experience always lives up to expectations, and the price is reasonable considering the quality of the food.

30/12/2025: Two lovely hosts who are very attentive to ensuring your stay is enjoyable. We loved the setting, the food, and the opportunity to connect with other travelers like ourselves. The property is very well located, with no parking problems. We highly recommend it!

05/10/2025: What can I say? - Well-located for sightseeing without traveling too far. - The table d'hôte experience offered at this establishment allows you to meet people from all walks of life and have a great time. What's more, the food is of very good quality. - The owners are very welcoming, available, and attentive. - The cottage is pleasant and functional (the only downside is that the terrace isn't on the same level). - And +1 for Welcom, who barks quietly to be petted! It's impossible to resist him given his cute face! We recommend this place without hesitation after spending a week with family this summer at this Dordogne establishment 👍🏻

10/12/2025: A very warm welcome with a smile. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The homemade food was excellent. Very good value for money for an overnight stay for business travelers. The grounds are splendid.

03/03/2026: There are places that exude serenity. Château Les Merles is one of them. In a charming, human-scale setting, the centuries-old buildings, whose soul has been preserved, provide the backdrop for a team attentive to every wish. (Hats off to the chef and his team, who master the subtleties of both savory and sweet dishes). Not to mention the rather technical 9-hole golf course, which adds a delightful touch to the day before or after a long walk along the Dordogne River or in the almost adjacent state forest. Needless to say, we'll be back soon.

16/02/2026: We received a gift box, and we decided to stay at Château les Merles. We had a wonderful Valentine's Day, with a delicious meal. Afterwards, we spent a night at the hotel, where everything was taken care of. And all the staff were incredibly kind. Absolutely nothing to complain about; you can go there without hesitation. Thank you again to Château les Merles for this memorable experience. Bravo! 👏

19/03/2026: Delicious cuisine and sublimely prepared local produce! A warm and friendly welcome. It's always a pleasure to sit at their tables. And to top it all off, a lovely outdoor terrace awaits you for sunny days!

09/03/2026: A very good restaurant; we come here when we stay in Thiviers at the "La Fontaine du Mas" bed and breakfast, which I also recommend.

20/02/2026: A delightful surprise awaited us at this restaurant, where you can savor regional dishes while also avoiding the usual traditional fare. A €22 set menu is offered at lunchtime, but we preferred to explore the à la carte menu. We started with stuffed neck, followed by sweetbreads and pan-fried chateaubriand. The flavors were spot on, with tender, flavorful meat and perfectly cooked sweetbreads. The service was very professional and friendly, with an equally so waiter.

17/02/2026: Hello. While passing through Périgueux, we discovered this wonderful place. Everything was perfect; we celebrated Valentine's Day early in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. 28/03/2026: A truly negative experience. Bland dishes, cooking and seasoning that need improvement. Nothing positive to say, even after careful consideration. Slow and unfriendly service. Frozen desserts, nothing like homemade. There are far better restaurants just a short walk away; keep walking!

28/03/2026: Fantastic food, really good portion sizes, the set menu at 35€ on an evening I thought was good value for money. The manager was very attentive with a smile. It was quite busy on a Friday evening so reservations are advised
