19/04/2026: Passing through for a business lunch. Poor value for money... A basic tourist trap, what a disappointment! We were expecting a typical regional lunch. I'm willing to pay a premium, but it should be worth it... Not this time!

We immediately felt at home, with a caring and passionate team. As for the food, it was simply a delight: we savored absolutely sublime Périgord specialties (a special mention for the duck confit). Each dish was flavorful, generous, and perfectly executed—a true culinary journey! This is an establishment that truly deserves to be known and recognized. If you are passing through Sarlat, don't miss it: stop by, you won't be disappointed!

16/04/2026: Four of us had the 3 course evening menu. They also had an a la carte.menu. There is a big outside terrace but we sat inside at the back of the restaurant as it was not warm enough to sit out. We chose a variety of different dishes betweenus. To begin we were given some amuse-bouche, olives, meat, a miniature asparagus soup. Delicious. There was a selection of starters, mains and deserts. Everything tasted lovely and was very well presented. The staff were friendly and service was good. We had a lovely bottle of Bergerac white wine to accompany which was 24€. I wish we had a restaurant like this near home. There was plenty of space when we went but sometimes you would need to book.

10/04/2026: A lovely terrace and a friendly welcome. However, a major disappointment with the food... the duck breast was tough and the duck confit was more like roast duck 👎🏻 The price of wine by the glass 🍷 is particularly expensive (8/9 euros) for the wines offered.

The service was impeccable, and the food was excellent. I highly recommend it. Bonus: a beautiful setting in the village of Tamnies.

A perfect duo who know how to ensure we have a great time and delight our taste buds! We enjoy ourselves every time we visit, and the chef shares his passion for his craft. There's also a very nice wine list with prices to suit all budgets! Valérie knows her wines and is always happy to advise us! Another flawless experience this Christmas lunch 🧑‍🎄

02/09/2025: We visited on a quiet Tuesday evening. Well worth the short walk from our hotel in the centre, the restaurant is modern and well kept. The staff were lovely, service great and the food excellent. Good value at €55 for two of us.

11/04/2026: Warm welcome, spacious and very clean room, large terrace with direct access to the park, delicious dinners, made-to-measure breakfast, bucolic setting, great peace and quiet, beautiful walks and visits to the Périgord, attentive owner, we spent 3 nights at the Chartreuse and we will be back!

Having stayed at some of the most renowned hotels across the globe, I can say with certainty that this boutique gem sits right at the top of the list. It is officially rated as a four-star hotel, but the service, quality, and atmosphere are undeniably five-star. The Service & Atmosphere The staff here are absolutely marvelous. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel not just welcome, but truly cared for. They are incredibly polite and possess that rare "nothing is too much trouble" attitude. Whether we needed something specific sourced or delivered, it was handled with grace and efficiency. A special mention must go to Plum, the resident dog. Named after the estate’s orchard, he might look a bit imposing at first, but he is a total teddy bear and adds such a charming, soulful touch to the property. The Rooms & Grounds The estate is immaculately clean. Our room was wonderfully spacious, featuring: • Reliable Wi-Fi and a pristine ensuite bathroom. • A generous walk-in wardrobe. • French doors that opened directly onto a stunning landscape. The setting is breathtaking. You are surrounded by a massive orchard of plum trees, a swimming pool, tranquil ponds, and a river. The grounds are teeming with wildlife and thousands of varieties of plants. For those who want to explore, they provide bikes to ride around the estate, and there are various garden games available to enjoy in the sunshine. The Culinary Experience The food is a headline act. The restaurant holds a Michelin star, and the seven-course dinner we experienced was truly out of this world—a masterclass in flavor and presentation. Breakfast was equally impressive. They cater to every possible requirement without a hint of fuss. As someone with specific dietary needs—specifically a strict potato starch allergy—I am often used to navigating limited menus, but here, they sourced and delivered exactly what I needed. Whether it was specific fish or local honey, everything was handled perfectly. Final Verdict If you are looking for a French getaway that combines high-end luxury with the intimacy of a boutique hotel, look no further. We are already counting down the days until we can return.
