For me, this Welsh rarebit was magnificent; I've never tasted one so good. I recommend this restaurant 100%, especially to those who want to discover the gastronomy that is so dear to our region.

14/09/2026: I loved eating at Bistrot de la Gare in Lomme. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the place is beautifully decorated, and above all, the staff are very friendly, professional, and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken with Maroilles cheese served with delicious fresh fries. The menu features many typical Northern French dishes that look very tempting. I will recommend this restaurant to everyone I know without hesitation, and I will definitely be back.

24/08/2026: I received a very poor welcome and left. I had tried to make a reservation but kept getting the answering machine. They refused to let me in because I hadn't made a reservation. They also refused to let me use the restroom.

25/08/2026: Nice decor, the terrace must be superb in summer. The building is truly beautiful. Warm welcome, attentive and helpful waiters. However, the food isn't quite as good as the setting. The steak tartare was bland, and I tasted my husband's fish—in that tiny 2 cm square, I found three bones. Perhaps I was just unlucky. But when you order a fish fillet in a restaurant, I expect it to be boneless. I thought my son's hamburger (from the children's menu) was good, but he didn't like it. I did, however, enjoy the fries and the mayonnaise, which seemed homemade, and the waitress (owner?) was very kind. If the food isn't a major part of the meal, it's a great spot to get out of the city.

22/08/2026: Superb place, very warm welcome. We ate well, table of 6. I'm giving it 4 stars because one person at the table was unfortunately ill the next day, but that can happen, especially as the person had a sensitive digestive system.

30/09/2026: We received a very warm welcome from Brasserie de l’Engrenage. The reception rooms are lovely and the food is excellent. We highly recommend it!

11/10/2026: Enjoyed a delicious venison and blueberry stew with roasted new potatoes and salad this evening. It was well cooked and delicious. The cocktail of the day was also unusual and much enjoyed. I would recommend this restaurant. My only criticism is that the tables are set too close together and that made it difficult to move between them.

04/10/2026: I just stopped by QG for a drink on the terrace. The welcome, the service, and the professionalism are the strengths of this place, which you should definitely discover! It certainly made me want to return if I'm ever in the train station area. It's rare and precious to find people who love their work and do it well. I didn't eat at the restaurant; we just had drinks and ice cream, but the server who took care of us was a real asset to this very pleasant establishment.

22/07/2026: There were three of us, and we ordered a Welsh rarebit, a Potjevleesch, and a steak tartare. The Potjevleesch was homemade and delicious. The Welsh rarebit was very generous, and the steak tartare had freshly ground meat. In short, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Excellent value for money, well done! 👏

13/09/2026: Excellent place recommended by a friend. The crepes are delicious, served quite quickly, and the staff are friendly. There's a wide selection, including options for vegetarians. The prices are affordable for students. I recommend the Mont Blanc crepe for chestnut cream lovers. However, it's best to book in advance, as the place is very popular. A superb restaurant in the heart of Lille!
