31/05/2026: More than average. The starter was served before the champagne glasses, which we had to ask for. The meal was okay. For dessert, we could still hear the coffee we never got... The restaurant was incredibly noisy. We won't be back if we have to ask for things every few minutes; it's exhausting.

24/05/2026: On Friday, on this beautiful sunny day, we came to enjoy your garden terrace and watch the Lens-Nice football match on the big screen. We arrived around 6:30 pm, and the evening promised to be wonderful. NRJ HITS was playing great music on TV; it was festive, and there was a good atmosphere. We had several pints while waiting for the match, then a charcuterie board and some wraps. We had decided to enjoy the barbecue and eat hamburgers during the match. But at 8 pm, for some reason (since the match was scheduled for 9 pm), you turned off the music and switched to the news on Antenne 2, which bombarded us with its stream of bad news: economic and political crises, violence, conflicts, wars, etc. The atmosphere immediately fell apart; it was no longer festive and had become boring and uninteresting. We asked for the music to be turned back on, but to no avail. As the gloom had infected everyone, we decided to leave without eating and go somewhere with a less depressing atmosphere. What seems obvious may not be to you: When you go out to enjoy yourself in a festive place—a bar, restaurant, or brasserie—it's to take your mind off things and forget your daily troubles for an evening, but certainly not to be plunged back into the current political and economic gloom. You ruined our enjoyment and our evening!

30/05/2026: We called the restaurant the first time, and the person told us there were no more tables available. A family member called a few minutes later to ask if it was possible to come without a reservation, which wasn't possible. However, they offered us a table for two. I don't think a table would become available in such a short time (4 minutes). The mussels were good and well-prepared.

05/04/2026: A truly wonderful restaurant, Les Vieilles Poutres, in Fournes-en-Weppes. Here, you won't find typical brasserie fare with overflowing plates, but rather a more refined, almost gastronomic approach, where the emphasis is on freshness, seasonality, and the care taken with the ingredients. The cuisine is delicate, well-executed, and you can sense a genuine attention to detail in both the flavors and the presentation. The ingredients appear fresh, the combinations harmonious, and the overall impression is one of seriousness and quality. You simply need to know what you're coming with: some might find the portions a little light at first glance. But this is also where a commendable point should be highlighted: if you ask for seconds, they are happy to serve you more. The kitchen knows how to adapt and satisfy, which is truly admirable. Ultimately, this is a restaurant that prioritizes quality, freshness, and seasonality over the immediate effect of quantity. And if you dare to ask for a little more, the team is there to help, which completes the experience very well.
