28/11/2025: It's hard to believe the positive reviews for this restaurant… Some people have made the same observation as us but are "drowned out" by the rave reviews (???). I should have read all the reviews before going to La Rainette. Only one dish out of ten on the menu is available, and when you resign yourself to accepting what's left, you're told there are only three left… When we were astonished, the response was, "We're changing the menu, so we have to finish what we have"… How reassuring… The salmon arrived half-raw and with a taste typical of something that had been in a freezer for a long time, a dessert was advertised with caramel but had no caramel, a colleague got sick from a burger… After being told "no" to everything we said, we gave up on expressing ourselves, especially since the owner, with his ladybug glasses 🤨, shouts to anyone who will listen, "When they're eating, at least they keep their mouths shut." It's supposed to be a joke, but he's the only one who finds it funny. Of course, he didn't ask us if everything was alright. This restaurant may have been good once, but it clearly isn't anymore.

02/07/2025: Pleasant and spacious setting. Friendly decor. The service was busy, but friendly. The terrine served as a starter was full of flavor, although it's always unpleasant to have a slightly gray start. On the other hand, there was a problem with the sweetbreads. They gave off a strong odor, as if they had been improperly stored or rinsed before use. It's a shame because the dish is generous and the entire grilled preparation is interesting. Well, I didn't get sick, but the smell of the dish was definitely not appealing.

01/07/2025: When you ask for rare meat and you are brought a very cooked and hard to cut beef steak, there is a problem! The steaks were kindly replaced but another problem is the cooking was improved but served barely warm, not to say cold! As for dessert, the banana splits need to be reviewed, served in ice cream glasses and not in a bowl! Where was the banana? Was the strawberry ice cream a sorbet? Furthermore, it is very unpleasant to dine with noxious smells coming from the drains (toilets or other). In short, the bill is not up to the standard of the meal.

31/10/2025: What a delightful surprise! This establishment is both a gourmet grocery store and an art gallery. You might hesitate to go in at first, but you'll quickly find the chef! He's right there in front of you, at the stove, preparing your meal live. A selection of daily specials. A wonderful discovery and delicious food.

19/08/2024: Warm welcome and suitable for a baby (many high chairs, and little touches). We had the burgers and we were not disappointed. Only the fries disappointed us a little, they were not homemade. In short, great little village bistro. We will come back soon to try the cabbage stuffed with foie gras!!!

Very warm welcome despite the late hour, the waiter is a real gem, good energy and very smiling, we will come back only for him! Excellent and generous crepe, the setting is very nice, decorating for fall, it feels good! Close to the city center, it is the perfect address for all occasions. I RECOMMEND!

Tested and approved: Auvergne hamburger, piece from the Salers butcher (very good meat) with red wine sauce, homemade fries 🤗, Auvergne salad and red fruit tiramisu (delicious) Top draft blond beer and glass of regional red wine (pinot noir). Very good service on the terrace. Thank you for this good meal 👌
