15/06/2026: What a beautiful place right in the center of lovely Gigondas! The location is perfect, nestled in a spectacular region surrounded by incredible wineries. The owner’s daughter hosted us and she was absolutely wonderful. Our stay was short, but we will definitely be back soon.

08/08/2026: Passing through Vaison-la-Romaine, what a pleasure it was to stop at this restaurant! Free parking right across the street next to the tourist office, look no further. A very warm welcome, and the daily special was thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. The ingredients were expertly prepared and beautifully presented. I highly recommend it. 02/08/2026: I had read terrific reviews about this restaurant and so I was excited to go. Unfortunately, for us the experience did not live up to the reviews. We started our meal with the salade exotique, which is a salad of greens, tomato, shrimp, mussels and avocado. Unfortunately instead of mussels, we were treated to smashed tinned sardine. The salad was very small (3 shrimp, a handful of greens) and cost €13.50. Next we had the poulet mafre, A chicken leg in a savory gravy. The chicken was very tasty, to be sure. It was perhaps the best item of what we ate there. The plate had a chicken leg quarter, a few pieces of fried plantain, some rice, and a very small portion of vegetables. €19.50. For dessert, we ordered what was billed as an exotic fruit cup. What came was a small cup of fruit with a few pieces of mango, strawberry, kiwi and banana, and some fruit jam on it. €9.50. While we really enjoyed the chicken dish, I just felt that the quantities and qualities did not justify the price. Had the meal cost 20% less, I would have given this four stars.

04/08/2026: We had a delicious meal at L’Estellan in Gordes. The service was also excellent. One person needed to eat gluten-free. The menu clearly indicated the gluten-free options. There was more than enough choice. Plenty of tasty gluten-free bread was also offered. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

The menu may be small but you will still debate what to choose and hope your partner shares their dish with you. Everything is proudly sourced locally and is of the highest quality. Service is discreet and attentive. The vibe is relaxed with just enough polish to make it feel special. Definitely worth a place on your Luberon itinerary.

The owner gave us a warm welcome. We were captivated by the various original flavors on offer in the "market menu," the presentation was impeccable, and a truly delightful experience was guaranteed.

Le Bistrot le France offers delicious cuisine—we especially loved the fresh and generous salad of heirloom tomatoes with burrata. The wine selection is also excellent, with some lovely choices to complement the meal. The terrace overlooking the square is a real bonus, perfect for soaking up the village atmosphere. The ambiance is warm and inviting, whether for lunch or dinner. Guillaume, the owner, provides a very warm welcome and gives this restaurant its unique charm. A must-try if you're in the area!

The food is delicious, the owner is a bit of a grump, his son is a skilled cook and a true rum connoisseur, and the restaurant itself is a veritable museum from the 1960s to the 1980s. A must-visit if you're ever in Apt. Please note, I highly recommend booking in advance.

And above all… what a welcome ❤️ From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by an incredibly smiling, friendly, and attentive team. The kind of welcome that immediately makes you feel good and wants to stay. We had planned to check out the restaurants around the lake before choosing… but honestly, after just a few minutes here, I had already made up my mind! 😄 And then, we absolutely loved the menu. There were three of us, including one vegetarian, and for once, everyone enjoyed their meal equally! There's a real selection of vegetarian dishes, prepared with as much care as the rest of the menu. Not just three measly options added for show (the vegetables from the other dishes): No, real dishes, generous, flavorful, and truly enticing. 🙌 The ingredients are fresh, the dishes are prepared with passion, and you can taste it immediately. Every bite gives the impression that someone in the kitchen has truly taken the time to do things right. And then there's the chef… incredible! 👏 He comes to check on the tables at the end of the meal, chats with the customers, and asks how it went. He must have nothing to be ashamed of, right? That's a good sign already! And it's not just a courtesy call: when you talk to him, you immediately understand that he knows exactly what he's putting on our plates and that he puts a lot of heart into it. We actually had a long chat with him after the meal, simply because we really wanted to thank him. It's rare enough to be worth mentioning: a passionate, approachable person who loves his work and, above all, seems to want to please. And as if all that wasn't enough… the prices are absolutely mind-blowing! 😳 A really great menu, fresh ingredients, generous portions, quality, choice… and unbeatable prices. It's almost hard to believe it's possible. Some dishes are even cheaper than McDonald's! Honestly, don't miss this place. Restaurants where you can eat well do exist. Restaurants where you receive a warm welcome do too. But to find such a warm welcome, a smile, quality ingredients, vegetarian options, the chef's passion, generosity, and prices like these is extremely rare. We left with smiles on our faces, full stomachs, and above all, the feeling of having discovered a real gem. ❤️ A huge congratulations to the whole team and a big thank you to the chef.
