12/12/2025: We usually come to this restaurant, but tonight we were very disappointed. For our takeaway pizzas, there was a long wait. We ordered two different calzones, and there were no markings to distinguish them. On top of that, I've never seen so much water in a calzone or so much ham (strange). The sizes of the pizzas served in the restaurant and the takeaway pizzas are different; is that normal?
We won't be back.
03/12/2025: Gargantua is a good restaurant in Guichen. The food is good, and the dishes are well-prepared and very tasty. The major problem with Gargantua is the service, which is very inconsistent. The wait can quickly become interminable, and the quality of the food doesn't compensate for the slow service.

The staff is very pleasant, always smiling, and even friendly with the children, talking to them and laughing with them.
A menu that children who can't read can still do like the grown-ups by choosing their own menus (with pictures), which my children really enjoyed.
The dishes are very well presented, generously portioned, and very well cooked. The value for money is very reasonable.
A great experience at this restaurant. We'll be back!

We were very kindly welcomed and served.
The tapas plates as starters are very good, as are the curry mussels (900g!) accompanied by homemade fries!
I highly recommend.

13/12/2024: We eat there very regularly for lunch with my partner. Stéphane is very kind, the cuisine is healthy, tasty and inexpensive. And the service is fast. Very often a victim of its success, it is often full at lunchtime and therefore there are a lot of people. The only negative point is that we are sometimes mixed with the alcoholic lunch crowd.

03/09/2024: We had dinner at Le Bistro Volney last Sunday, it was very busy, the food was excellent and there was plenty of wine to choose from. The Maitre d has very good English and could explain the menue. I was feeling very hot during the meal and they were able to move us to a table by the entrance. If you go on a Sunday I'd recommend booking in advance.
