09/04/2026: A charming hotel with a lovely patio, the room decor was superb, and the bathroom was truly luxurious. The hotel was quiet and offered excellent value for money. The only downside was that the single bed was quite narrow, which prevented me from getting the restful night I'd hoped for. 😉 Highly recommended.

07/05/2026: We went there as a group of four on a Saturday to celebrate the wedding of a couple of friends. It was a wonderful culinary experience with a four-hour cruise along the Sèvre River. A knowledgeable and humorous guide described the history of the marshes from 150,000 BC to the present day throughout the cruise—fascinating! The food was very good and the portions were just right. A must-do if you're hosting friends in the area; excellent value for money, and reservations are essential. This activity is seasonal.

24/04/2026: I came to your establishment today for the cruise. No complaints about the food or the service. However, I was upset by Mr. Christian, who was very mocking towards me. I don't know what I did to him; he'll probably tell me it was just a joke. He said he didn't like me, that I was rich. Which is absolutely not true—a necklace given to me by my daughters with my grandchildren's names on it. Oh yes, it has great sentimental value. The rest is just trinkets. So, I went home this evening, upset about being treated like that.

02/05/2026: Good evening everyone! I recommend this restaurant. The welcome was pleasant, and they offer all-you-can-eat winter dishes like tartiflette and raclette. For summer dishes, they have unlimited fresh mussels with several sauces, etc. As a result, my wife and I had raclette and were completely full. Other customers shared their opinions, and we definitely got our money's worth, which is great. The appetizer platter was enormous, no complaints there. The pizzas were loaded to the brim, leaving even room for dessert—unbelievable! I highly recommend it, and the bill for a large family was very reasonable.

24/05/2026: The bar is great for drinks with a beautiful view of the harbor, a fantastic atmosphere with DJs coming by, a great owner, etc… but the waiter really left something to be desired. He didn't smile much, the welcome wasn't very warm, and we felt like we were bothering them. With the first warm days of summer arriving, we ordered cocktails and water, but he said, "I'll take care of the people who are drinking alcohol and paying first, and then we'll see about the water," which is completely unprofessional. Adding two chairs was too complicated for him (not for the owner, who happily made room for us). So we went to the owner for the water, and he gave it to us immediately, along with little jars of peanuts. Be careful when choosing your staff, because it changes the perception of the bar, which is otherwise great, as we've been going there for years now!

07/11/2025: Under new ownership for the past year. New layout, decor, and equipment. A very warm welcome from the entire team, and they were very attentive. Unbeatable value for money in Machecoul. Plenty of choice. A touch of history and a touch of magic. Located on one of the highest points in the area, the restaurant "La Croix Verte" sits at the crossroads of historical sites in Machecoul. *To the right of the entrance, the beginning of the Roman road to Fresnay-en-Retz. The village of Sainte-Croix (Machecoul didn't exist at the time). *A few meters away, the old church of St. John the Baptist and, before that, the first fortified wooden castle in Sainte-Croix. "And the road leading to Sainte-Pazanne towards the Saint-Lazare estate. This green cross was the emblem of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus (11th/12th century). The Order of Saint Lazarus still exists for humanitarian work. Several military orders were present in Machecoul from the 11th century onwards (Saint Lazarus/The Hospitallers/The Templars)."

01/03/2026: A splendid setting, with a warm and refined atmosphere. Everything was delicate, delicious, and perfectly balanced. A true delight! The service is still finding its feet (it's the start of the season, after all), but the team is friendly, helpful, and attentive, which is very pleasant. 08/03/2026: For the past few months, we've enjoyed coming to Le Comptoir for a drink. The atmosphere, decor, and staff are pleasant. However, we'd like to inform you that the inside handle of the restroom door has been missing for several months. Also, yesterday in the late afternoon, there was no more paper towel. It's little things like this that make the difference between one establishment and another. You're either professional or you're not! Sincerely.
