17/05/2026: Honestly, a big thumbs down. Sunday, May 17th, 6:30 PM €6.10 for a defrosted opera cake. And a waitress in a tank top with tufts of armpit hair sticking out over the customers' trays. And less friendly than a prison guard. Unfortunately, I'm not a tourist, so I knew this bakery when it was top-notch, but today it was practically a sewer drain {the sea begins here}, but this time it was more like the sea... Avoid at all costs unless you want to commit suicide

14/05/2026: Bad experience, be sure to ask what's in the sandwiches. Too much mayonnaise with tomato and mozzarella, inedible, and the staff were dishonest.

22/05/2026: Great time at Blue Beach, the staff were fantastic, especially Maria, who was super cool and super nice.

24/05/2026: A warm welcome and excellent service. Don't hesitate, go and try the delicious aioli. Wash it all down with a glass of Minuty rosé and you're all set.

03/05/2026: I am extremely disappointed with my experience. The waiter was unpleasant, arrogant, and clearly unsuited to a customer-facing role. His attitude made me so uncomfortable as soon as I sat down that I decided to leave immediately. A minimum of respect and professionalism is truly necessary.

It's worth mentioning their effort to stay open in the evening; the restaurant also offers takeout, which is great to have a choice of traditional cuisine in the neighborhood! 28/05/2026: We stayed at the hotel, and on our last night we decided to have dinner at the hotel restaurant. However, the service was terrible. We wanted to order dinner, and all they told us was that we had to sit inside to eat. We replied that we would order drinks first (outside), and they took away our menus and left us talking to ourselves. The service was awful; I don't recommend this place. The hotel is excellent, the restaurant is terrible.

12/04/2026: The waiter was extremely unpleasant and didn't know the basics of politeness.

03/04/2026: The atmosphere is nice, you can eat on the terrace with a view. The staff is friendly enough. The food leaves much to be desired... the quiche was burnt, and the lasagna tasted like a frozen one.

13/05/2026: A very bad experience. The burgers were inedible. The meat was so burnt it stung our tongues, yet it was still raw in the middle… I didn't think it was possible to ruin a burger this badly. We had specifically asked for burgers without onions, but they arrived with onions anyway. On top of that, the food was served cold. Overpriced for the quality of the food. The service was mediocre, and the state of the restrooms was simply appalling. A truly disappointing experience; I absolutely do not recommend this establishment.

31/03/2026: ​I booked a table online for Monday and got a confirmation, only to be called 2 hours before being told it’s "not possible" to honor it. We decided to give them another chance and booked for Tuesday. ​Despite having a second email confirmation, when we arrived, they refused to seat us because the restaurant was full. Their excuse? "The online reservation system doesn't work." ​This is a complete lack of respect for customers' time. Don't bother booking online here—a confirmation means nothing to them. This rating reflects their poor management and service, as we never even got to taste the food.

24/03/2026: I've booked L'Ovale reservations three times now and we went last night (March 23) for a special birthday dinner and they were locked up at 7:30pm. I called and whomever answered the phone just said the "site" was closed without further explanation. The previous time, I at least received an email cancellation, and when I called, they said the chef had hurt his back. I'm never going back! Such a frustrating and embarrassing situation with a group of friends for this to happen.

27/05/2026: I enjoyed it here, I don’t understand all the negative reviews. Yes it’s expensive, but Nice is an expensive city, and this is in nice area of an expensive city, hence it won’t be cheap. If you are looking for a budget meal, just don’t visit here. For my family, both the food and service were good, happy to recommend and come back.

26/05/2026: Very disappointing!! The restaurant seems to be living off its reputation. From appetizer to dessert, not a single dish impressed us; it lacked flavor, the presentation was uninspired, and the quality fell far short of expectations. An experience we will not be repeating.

30/10/2025: Stopped in while waiting for bus to Eze - was the closest cafe to Vauban Station. Kind lady served us 2 cappuccino. Didn't eat, but menu looked good 😋.

18/05/2026: We're really a long way from the two palm trees... still not listed as "Café Musain"... they've taken away all the charm of this restaurant... before, there was a banquette, small armchairs, a banquette with cushions... now it's sterile and atmosphereless... tables and chairs... no atmosphere at all... yet it's on the most "chic" street in Nice, Avenue Victor Hugo... a limited and uninteresting menu... #coquillet au jambon!! daily specials #club sandwich 18 euros... #bakery!!!...linguini with tuna and lemon "no way"... fisherman's stew and fish soup... keep walking... bland... tasteless... water mixed with fish pulp for 30 euros... we're supposed to be in the Mediterranean!!! Mille-feuille straight from the bakery... placed on the plate... #chantilly #decoration... at least. Frog leg!! Bland! #France... For Corsicans who own several establishments...!! It's 2026, and without even the slightest expectation... truly disappointed... staff not very attentive... paper napkins thinner than at McDonald's... what can I say... it's a profession. 18/05/2026: This establishment is sadly not what it used to be...frankly...the menu is uninteresting. Dishes average €25, a bottle of wine €50...without service or any attempt at presentation! At those prices, go eat at a beach restaurant...low quality for the price...it's like a canteen! The new wooden facade is really not up to par!
