24/08/2025: We came before the restaurant was open. They just started to put out the tables. They made one table for us in a split of a second. So that says everything about the service. The food was nothing less! Amazing!! You are obliged to visit!!

24/07/2024: We heard about this place and read about the large portions of quality food for a reasonable price. We were left extremely disappointed by this as the portion size for 23.50 euro each was in our opinion not sufficient, apparently it used to be 17 euro each and maybe then this would be acceptable but in our opinion it was a small meal and we got a full rotisserie chicken from the butcher on the way home to fill us up. You choose your meat and are then given a choice of a side dish, either mash potato, baked potato, salad or ratatouille. In our opinion for 23.50 euro per person you should be given a choice of one side of potato as well as one side of salad or ratatouille to provide more of an overall meal. We had the wine which was nice and the lady serving us was very friendly however we walked away feeling very unsatisfied with what we ate and what we paid from a restaurant we were very much looking forward to visiting.

18/07/2024: Nous avons apprécié la rapidité du service et la qualité du rôti de bœuf qui était d’une tendresse à vous caresser le palais. De plus, les accompagnements maisons sont un délice, nous vous recommandons les pommes de terres et la purée. Enfin, le patron et cuisinier de talent de cette adresse unique est très sympathique.

23/09/2024: Amazing pastries! Tastes were really unexpected and delicious. All the pastries looked really pretty and sufisticated. It is a nice cafeteria to chill and spend some time. Staff is kind, smiley and friendly.

08/09/2024: Nous sommes venus dans cet endroit soit disant "très bien" un samedi après-midi, les présentations de gâteaux et autres étaient vides et nous avons vraiment sentis que nous dérangions la serveuse qui était plus motivé à faire son ménage que à servir les clients ! Nous avons commandé nos boissons mais la première boisson ne nous a pas été servie ( oubli ou pas envie de servir???) Pour la boisson suivante la serveuse ne m'a pas demandé le type de lait que je souhaitais... ( Dans d'autre café on prpose toujours à chaque client les différents types de lait selon les goûts de chacun) Mais là non on m'a imposé un lait d'amande que je déteste ! Donc je je nai pas pû boire mon thé macha. Les boissons sont servies dans des petits pots de confiture pas vraiment Cet endroit est très cher.

12/11/2024: Este restaurante entrega. Gran menú. Buena comida. Cenar por dentro o por fuera. Gente maravillosa dirige este restaurante. Finalmente encontramos una deliciosa Boulliabase en Villefranche. En el casco antiguo. Gran servicio, gran carta de vinos. Te encantará.

30/10/2024: Superbe petit restaurant familial sur la rue du Poilu, produits frais, plats délicieux et généreusement servis, rapport qualité prix imbattable dans ce coeur de village ultra touristique. Les tables en terrasse permettent de s'immerger dans cette petite rue à l'architecture de village italien, un vrai dépaysement. Le service est tout simplement au top, alors bien sur je recommande.

21/11/2025: We sat for coffee and desserts. We ordered two different ones but did not enjoy them much. They weren’t tasty. The coffee was really awful, like watered down. The staff is nice though and the place has a nice view.

02/10/2025: The best Caesar salad in Nice, the best coffee, and delicious desserts. We highly recommend it.

01/09/2024: Nous n’avions pas réservé , on nous propose de nous installer au bar le temps qu’une table se libère . Nous avons été servis et installés au bar avec attention . Il faisait chaud on m’a gentiment proposé un éventail et nous sommes passés à table assez rapidement . La carte n’est pas très importante mais appétissante.. Le cadre est top, l’ambiance est top et nous avons très bien mangé . Les prix sont élevés mais nous y retournerons occasionnellement . Merci pour votre accueil .

30/08/2024: I live this place! I keep on bringing my friends and family as it is sooo good. I took the grilled “fenouil” as an appetizer. Very original, well prepared and very tasty. I continued with the fish with seasoned vegetables; again very pleased with my choices. Always fresh and tasty. And why not finish with a sumptuous dessert…. Baba au rhum. Family classic…it’s bathing in the rhum with a slide of whipped cream. The staff is always top - Laura and Ugo are always smiling and can give you the best advice based on your taste. Never a disappointment or a dull moment. This is the place to go if you want to enjoy a homemade real Mediterranean meal made with fresh items (I saw them being picked up from the market 😉). Go try it out, you won’t be disappointed!!

20/09/2024: Unrecommendable restaurant, kitchen in what I saw in execrable condition, unpresentable cook with completely black nails. Not pleasant service, server much too confident, too salesy and too forceful... strange atmosphere, and a shame for this beautiful place, but absolutely not maintained. We were disappointed with our trip. We will not return or recommend. TO FLEE

02/09/2024: We dined at the Restaurant at La Chèvre d’or for lunch, which was lovely, the food was good, the service ok - a little rushed for my liking as they were clearly pressured to set up for dinner. Sadly, this is where my positive experience ended and took a rather sinister turn a few days later. My sister and I were walking up the hill in Eze, we had my 5 month old nephew with us so had to take the road, as the steps are not fit for a pram. To our shock, we were then faced with the van from Chèvre D’or, reversing in our direction - and was going far too fast. We were so scared, as we had nowhere to go to shelter and protect the baby, and we thought he was going to hit us. When we went past his window, we told the driver he was going too fast and nearly hit us, to which he got extremely aggressive. An argument erupted, with us eventually having to walk away as he was extremely unreasonable and aggressive. The driver then followed us back up the hill, ( again driving aggressively) to shout at us some more. We were so scared and shocked that we had been spoken to like this, especially from an (apparently) such an elegant establishment. It’s normal for a mother to protect her baby, and the staff at Chèvre dor, need to a - be taught how to handle situations better and b- drive with better care and attention to other pedestrians in the area. Ironically when checking out of our home yesterday, we saw the same van and driver driving aggressively in Eze, so nothing has changed. I have followed up with a complaint to the reception, and speaking to Eva - she was extremely unhelpful and rude, and would not put me through to a manager to express my dissatisfaction, and to warn them that this maniac is working for, what I always previously thought was an elegant establishment. I have also followed up with a complaint to the general manager Aria, who to date has not even responded. I would therefore strongly advise other customers ( especially women) to reconsider visiting this hotel, its not safe to stay here with such aggressive and bullying staff members, who can’t handle being told off for putting lives at risk with his driving. It’s clearly gone very downhill and would recommend the Chateau Eza as a far more superior property.

26/08/2024: This food was below average, part of my meal was cold my beef could have walked off the plate when ordered medium rare. They said nothing to the women at the table next to us that was FaceTiming her toddler on speaker for no less than 10 minutes. Certainly will not need to back to this restaurant

21/09/2024: Had an excellent homemade ice cream and was served quickly by the waitress but to get a waffle I had to ask for it, I had time to eat my ice cream slowly and when we discreetly showed up the waiter pretended to see us, not nice! This place does not take holiday vouchers.

09/09/2024: Spent the day on the sun beds - pricey but very very comfortable padded cushions and towels provided. 40 euros in er bed front row, 35 euros 2nd,3rd and 4th rows. The beds were put away at 6:30pm The restaurant was then set up, it opens at 8pm. The food was very good - recommend the salmon in coconut cream sauce, vegetables and truffle mash. Pricey, but worth it

24/08/2024: Personnel à la limite impolie et peu aimable sens de l’écoute, quasi absent beaucoup de maladresse avec des réponses expéditive à éviter absolument

07/09/2023: Varied and original menu. This place is always busy and rightly so.
