13/01/2026: Outrageous! I'd barely walked in at 8 a.m. when a cloud of cigarette smoke hit me in the throat; it was impossible to have breakfast in those conditions! Thank goodness Brioche Dorée allowed me to eat without being polluted!

10/01/2026: Whatever you do, don't buy any galettes des rois! Today we bought a king cake that was stale and a frangipane filling that wasn't almond but applesauce! And of course, nobody tells you that when you buy it. It's a disgrace for a chain like Paul to sell such low-quality products.

05/04/2026: THE ABSOLUTE WORST reastruant I have ever eaten in my life I don’t normally write reviews ever but this deserves it I ordered a bacon burger witch was a ball of grease now I know bacon and burgers are greasy but this was shocking for €26 there was three hairs in my burger when I asked them to take it back they said no and said I most have out them there to get a free meal the hairs were grey and I don’t have grey hair my chips were said to be home made they were half frozen when they came to my table prices are extortionate from r everything disgraceful place should be shut for hygiene standards staff are rude bathrooms we’re disgusting got ran through multiple times by staff and they blaim it on me absolutely disgraceful AVOID AT EVERY COST

01/04/2026: The tartiflette was excellent, the lasagna a little less so but still very good. Lovely service. Chalet-style decor. We went two nights in a row.

23/03/2026: Great coffee, I'll remember its taste for a long time. The aroma of the coffee wafts throughout the entire place. You can also buy coffee beans. Very friendly service, I highly recommend this place.

12/11/2025: The only café in France where you get a torrent of insults from the waitress. This woman's nervousness, spitefulness, vulgarity, and rudeness are astounding. As a resident of Villefranche, I like to stop by from time to time for a drink, alone or with friends. I don't go there very often, so they don't know me. Until now, I had always been well received, by a young man, a middle-aged gentleman, or a lady with short blond hair. But this morning, I encountered an aggressive harpy who unleashed all her venom and a string of obscenities on me. I am a lady of a certain age, who came to relax and support the local businesses. I was so shocked that I won't be going back anytime soon! A disgrace to this village! The following text is the comment left on the town hall website. Beautiful location, very pleasant welcome. However, I feel compelled to share on the town hall website a terrible experience I had this morning at the Café de la Paix. Given that this establishment is located within the town limits, I feel it's important to bring it to the attention of the Mayor. Having lived in Villefranche for a year, I occasionally, though admittedly quite rarely, stop by the Café de la Paix for a drink while playing the lottery. Always warmly welcomed until now by the young man, the older gentleman, or the short-haired blonde woman, I never imagined that one day I would be greeted so aggressively and subjected to a barrage of insults and obscenities! I ordered an aperitif and asked if it would be possible to have some side dishes, which I was willing to pay for. The violent response from this hysterical woman shocked me so much that I asked for a refund because I no longer wished to remain in the establishment. She replied, and I quote, "Sit on your ass." I'd never experienced anything like it in my entire life. A real slob, and incredibly rude. I'm over sixty, I'm a mother and grandmother, and in my world, we show politeness, good manners, good upbringing, courtesy, and elegant speech. I think it's best not to drink when you work in a café! In any case, this person is completely out of place.

06/03/2026: Great place, delicious and filling. I'd say it's home-cooked. I especially liked the cocktails 🍹 the bartender doesn't skimp on the alcohol, and you'll definitely leave feeling full and tipsy. 😎✌️

16/02/2026: A lovely spot with a beautiful view of Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Warm welcome. We had a wonderful Valentine's Day evening. With refined and delicious dishes. The service was perfect. 👍

14/02/2026: A DELIGHT! A delight for the taste buds! Finally, a Michelin-starred restaurant that truly deserves its star. First, the valet immediately sets the tone: a smile, elegance, and patience. Then, the welcome: smiles from everyone present. We are shown to our table, reserved the day before and confirmed that very morning with a credit card authorization. On the covered terrace, our two are seated side-by-side, facing the bay window. Although our backs were to the wall, we had a panoramic view of St. Paul de Vence to the left, and a little further to the right, five hills and four glimpses of the sea. Even without sunshine: Magnificent. The decor: rustic yet modern. We are immediately offered chilled champagne, followed by amuse-bouches. Delicious. The head waiter and the servers are all smiling, friendly, and attentive. The menus and wine lists are explained to us. Yes, it's expensive, that's true. But the value for money is excellent. Starters, main courses, desserts—all presented with an appetizing flair and exquisite refinement. The luxury and customer service of yesteryear, the French way... It's wonderful. And everything else was equally delightful. Even the adorable wire-haired dachshund, the resident dog, made an appearance and was adopted by everyone. The waiters were attentive yet discreet. It's important to mention everything when the experience is so enjoyable. A perfect Valentine's Day! Thank you, Evelyne N.

15/03/2026: Good food, good service. However, €9 for a bottle of sparkling water made with a SodaStream/Purezza machine…??? That's a shame; we won't be back for that reason alone.

07/03/2026: In my opinion, the bartender could easily do without smoking his IQOS or equivalent cigarette behind the bar... I'm sure a customer wouldn't be able to... A very atypical Chardonnay... lots of wind and drafts for very little emotion... the quality isn't there... The price is there... Pied Pipers
