12/11/2025: The only café in France where you get a torrent of insults from the waitress. This woman's nervousness, spitefulness, vulgarity, and rudeness are astounding. As a resident of Villefranche, I like to stop by from time to time for a drink, alone or with friends. I don't go there very often, so they don't know me. Until now, I had always been well received, by a young man, a middle-aged gentleman, or a lady with short blond hair. But this morning, I encountered an aggressive harpy who unleashed all her venom and a string of obscenities on me. I am a lady of a certain age, who came to relax and support the local businesses. I was so shocked that I won't be going back anytime soon! A disgrace to this village! The following text is the comment left on the town hall website. Beautiful location, very pleasant welcome. However, I feel compelled to share on the town hall website a terrible experience I had this morning at the Café de la Paix. Given that this establishment is located within the town limits, I feel it's important to bring it to the attention of the Mayor. Having lived in Villefranche for a year, I occasionally, though admittedly quite rarely, stop by the Café de la Paix for a drink while playing the lottery. Always warmly welcomed until now by the young man, the older gentleman, or the short-haired blonde woman, I never imagined that one day I would be greeted so aggressively and subjected to a barrage of insults and obscenities! I ordered an aperitif and asked if it would be possible to have some side dishes, which I was willing to pay for. The violent response from this hysterical woman shocked me so much that I asked for a refund because I no longer wished to remain in the establishment. She replied, and I quote, "Sit on your ass." I'd never experienced anything like it in my entire life. A real slob, and incredibly rude. I'm over sixty, I'm a mother and grandmother, and in my world, we show politeness, good manners, good upbringing, courtesy, and elegant speech. I think it's best not to drink when you work in a café! In any case, this person is completely out of place.

22/09/2025: A vacation lunch... In a family-run establishment (literally) on the Mediterranean Sea, smelling deliciously of salt... With sea spray in our hair, we enjoyed well-prepared, fresh, and delicious dishes. The service was attentive and friendly, and we also enjoyed one of the most beautiful views of Antibes... Thank you for this wonderful experience; we'll definitely be back!

11/09/2025: We spent a whole day at the beach, a place of pure relaxation and tranquility, where you can have lunch and an aperitif by the sea, with excellent, high-quality food. The lady and gentleman were truly kind.

13/01/2026: Outrageous! I'd barely walked in at 8 a.m. when a cloud of cigarette smoke hit me in the throat; it was impossible to have breakfast in those conditions! Thank goodness Brioche Dorée allowed me to eat without being polluted!

10/01/2026: Whatever you do, don't buy any galettes des rois! Today we bought a king cake that was stale and a frangipane filling that wasn't almond but applesauce! And of course, nobody tells you that when you buy it. It's a disgrace for a chain like Paul to sell such low-quality products.

01/09/2025: Delicious overall, but especially for those who eat gluten-free! Everything is gluten-free! We ate very well, and the service was excellent. I recommend the savory crepe with raclette and prosciutto.

23/08/2025: There was no one on the terrace when we arrived, and that's usually not a good sign when the rest of the terraces are full. Unfairly so, in our opinion. Extensive menu, friendly service, and the crêpes arrived very quickly (which were delicious). The ambiance could definitely be improved to make the restaurant feel more inviting.

07/03/2026: Having just arrived from Corsica for a ski trip, I stopped by because I was craving a crêpe. The welcome was perfect, and what a joy to run into a longtime friend, Sébastien, who also manages the place. Christophe, the chef from the restaurant of the same name, is there to prepare the crêpes. In the restaurant itself, still located in the shopping arcade, you're served by Léa, Sarra, and Maxence, always smiling, and of course, Christophe is in the kitchen. I highly recommend it, and I'll definitely be back this month.

05/01/2026: There were 10 of us. The waiter didn’t speak English, and 4 of us were given chipped/cracked glasses; mine was particularly sharp (photo) and had an unpleasant smell. The food was barely decent, except for the French fries, which were good. We also had to ask them to close the door (Jan 5, 11°C). On top of that, there was a dog belonging to someone connected to the restaurant, and it was sitting on a chair and even on a table—and it barked at our dogs for minutes even though they weren’t doing anything.

16/02/2026: A lovely spot with a beautiful view of Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Warm welcome. We had a wonderful Valentine's Day evening. With refined and delicious dishes. The service was perfect. 👍

14/02/2026: A DELIGHT! A delight for the taste buds! Finally, a Michelin-starred restaurant that truly deserves its star. First, the valet immediately sets the tone: a smile, elegance, and patience. Then, the welcome: smiles from everyone present. We are shown to our table, reserved the day before and confirmed that very morning with a credit card authorization. On the covered terrace, our two are seated side-by-side, facing the bay window. Although our backs were to the wall, we had a panoramic view of St. Paul de Vence to the left, and a little further to the right, five hills and four glimpses of the sea. Even without sunshine: Magnificent. The decor: rustic yet modern. We are immediately offered chilled champagne, followed by amuse-bouches. Delicious. The head waiter and the servers are all smiling, friendly, and attentive. The menus and wine lists are explained to us. Yes, it's expensive, that's true. But the value for money is excellent. Starters, main courses, desserts—all presented with an appetizing flair and exquisite refinement. The luxury and customer service of yesteryear, the French way... It's wonderful. And everything else was equally delightful. Even the adorable wire-haired dachshund, the resident dog, made an appearance and was adopted by everyone. The waiters were attentive yet discreet.
