15/09/2026: Find a spot with a view of the kitchen, nice at the bar! Fantastic. Small menu, good wine. Ingredients are sourced from the various market stalls surrounding it, and products are ‘thrown across the street’ from the butcher. The owner is the French rugby champion.

23/07/2026: We went to this restaurant last night and it was a wonderful discovery. First of all, the village of Alet-les-Bains is definitely worth a visit, but we've known that for many years thanks to swimming in the spring-fed pool and in the Aude River. Not to mention canoeing between Couiza and Alet. But yesterday, for my partner's birthday, we booked a table in this very pretty, bucolic setting. A lovely garden where the tables are set up around a central brazier where the food is prepared. And this brazier cooking was excellent. We had salmon and lamb, which were accompanied by succulent seasonal vegetables, also cooked on the brazier, and it was simply perfect. The portions were just right; you don't finish the meal feeling hungry or full. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The desserts were fantastic. The tarte tatin and the panna cotta were incredible. In short, it was truly perfect for a very reasonable price. I recommend it without any hesitation...

26/08/2026: Our first visit on the weekend was very enjoyable; the menu was excellent, beautifully presented, and promised a wealth of flavors. On our second visit, midweek, we opted for the "crate" (starter, main course, cheese, dessert, and coffee, all at a lower price). Once again, we were pleasantly surprised by the flavors; this set menu offers exceptional value for money. We highly recommend it because, in addition to the delicious food, you'll also benefit from a very warm welcome and excellent service.

26/08/2026: A very nice restaurant; we couldn't eat on the terrace, but the interior is also very pleasant. The tuna tataki was excellent. The young waitress was very cute. Nothing more to add. Go without hesitation!

21/08/2026: A lovely stop in Gruissan 🦪☀️ L’Estagnol was a delightful discovery! We had a wonderful time on the terrace, in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The oysters were truly excellent 🦪 and the menu features a wide selection of fish. I particularly enjoyed the monkfish skewers wrapped in bacon and saffron: a flavorful and characterful combination. The welcome was just as pleasant: the owner greeted us with a smile, and that makes all the difference. 😊 And a special mention—because it's rare enough to be worth highlighting!—for the impeccably clean restrooms 👌😄 A place where you eat well, receive a warm welcome, and simply want to take your time. A delightful gourmet interlude in Gruissan… which we happily recommend! 🌊🦪❤️

06/09/2026: A waitress told me "Pain au chocolat," I don't know what that is, I'm in Narbonne and I don't know any pastries called "pain au chocolat," shameful. However, double espresso banger

03/09/2026: The waitresses were perfect and attentive. The food was delicious...I peed so much on the Nutella crepe with fruit. Then they had a wonderful restroom.

24/08/2026: The service was excellent, the atmosphere very pleasant, and the setting truly superb, especially by the canal. The wine was also very good. However, I was a little disappointed with the food, which really wasn't to my taste. But I should point out that it's acceptable for a €33 set menu (starter, main course, and dessert). The gravlax salmon was fluorescent pink, very salty, and smoky: ultimately quite far from what I expect from gravlax. The same goes for the cassoulet: much, much too salty. And finally, the vanilla ice cream didn't impress me either: a very bright yellow color and a taste that really didn't taste high-quality. In the end, it's a shame, because everything else was there for a wonderful experience: a very pretty setting, a lovely table, good wine, and above all, very pleasant service. In such a location, right in the heart of the Lauragais region, I would have truly loved to see French and Toulouse cuisine showcased more prominently, with ingredients and preparations worthy of our region and its gastronomic heritage. A rather mixed experience for me: the setting and service were excellent, but the food was less so.

15/08/2026: Great place! We had a delicious meal – goat cheese salad with figs and homemade fries, and short ribs (very good meat) with fries. Quick service and the staff were very friendly. Thank you! 🤩

02/09/2026: The crepes were good, but nothing special; the egg on my crepe was cooked through and not runny, and the mushroom was too big. However, the service was excellent; the young woman was incredibly kind! You can tell she loves her job! Well done to her. The restaurant is also very reasonably priced.

14/05/2026: Beautiful location with views of nature and Quéribus Castle in the distance. The room with exposed stone walls is superb and offers high-quality amenities (comfortable bedding, lovely decor). Breakfast offers a wide variety of quality products (organic jams, eggs to boil, pastries, etc.). The restaurant is located in a room with old wine barrels, and the dishes are excellent, such as the confit pork cheek. The hosts are welcoming.

12/04/2026: An absolutely incredible place! A beautiful boutique hotel with comfortable and elegant rooms, especially the family room with access to the garden. A wonderful hotel in a gorgeous setting!

22/10/2025: Such an amazing experience. Liz and Joe were the most gracious hosts and treated my partner and I exceptionally. With an incredibly informative tour, exceptional food and world class wine. Anything written in this review doesn't do the evening we spent with them enough credit to an unforgettable night and lovley people. If we ever have the opportunity of being in the region again, we will be returning.

24/09/2025: Winery visit: it is impossible to overstate the warmth of hospitality of Joe and Liz! We arrived as strangers, and left feeling like family. The winery tour was everything we could have hoped for: starting with a chilled glass of white on the terrace overlooking the hills, tasting grapes on the vine about to be harvested, a tour of the equipment, pouring wines straight from the tank and dipping a cask, with Joe telling anecdotes about the history as well as explaining how it’s done. Finally Liz’s amazing and generous cooking in their beautiful dining room, including her home-cured salmon. She even tweaked the menu to ensure that our young Asian friends got a home-cooked rice dish. Convivial doesn’t begin to describe it. Thankfully, Liz also arranged with our taxi driver to come back rather later than originally planned 😂. Practical note: it’s about 20 minutes drive from Carcassonne and they can recommend taxi drivers.

09/08/2026: We ate at the restaurant just before visiting Puivert Castle. We highly recommend this excellent restaurant. The food was very good, and the service was very friendly.
