26/02/2026: I have hesitated writing this review for a few years (we ate here August 7th 2019)...eating here was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. My partner ordered a pork dish and shortly into the meal she bit into a piece of bone within the meat and fractured a tooth. Really, mistakes can happen, and this was forgivable. But the horror is what happened next. The server took the plate away after we identified the bone on the plate. She spoke to the chef, and then came back without the plate and told us crossly that there was not a bone in the meat. Essentially acusing us of making the whole thing up. The plate was gone along with the evidence, and with just a few mouthfuls eaten and we were told she could order something else and pay for it in addition to the now disappeared original order. A simple apology and an offer of a second main course free of charge would have be just fine...but either the chef or server took an inexplicably belligerent approach. To sum up, the service was insulting, discourteous, coukd not take legitimate criticism, and worst of all engaged in untruthful antics to cover up a mistake.

06/12/2025: Decent food, good value for money. Very pleasant terrace, well-laid-out dining room, a bit noisy inside, but we had a good time.

23/11/2025: Stick with a steak and you cant really go wrong in the distillery. That's not to say that the fish isn't good but its got to safer to play to established strengths. Great desserts, friendly staff.

18/09/2025: Bakery/café with some variety in its products. I didn't like the coffee with milk (from an electronic machine). The pastries were good. They have enough types of bread. The prices are reasonable. The service was decent. The place is small.

06/04/2026: A superb culinary experience awaits at this small restaurant nestled on a quiet street in Gruissan. From appetizer to dessert, everything is a true delight: fresh, local produce, perfectly balanced, expertly prepared, and exquisitely refined flavors that fully justify the €50 price tag of the menu we chose. Add to that a warm welcome and attentive service in a charming yet unpretentious setting, and you have a truly enjoyable and indulgent experience. A wonderful place to discover!

05/04/2026: Excellent restaurant! Every dish, from appetizer to dessert, was superb, in terms of presentation, preparation, and quantity. The service was also top-notch; there was no pressure, and we took our time to savor our meals and enjoy the pleasant covered terrace. As for the prices, they were very reasonable; we chose the €35 set menu plus wines. We highly recommend this excellent and enjoyable restaurant.

13/03/2026: A wonderful find in a quiet street. We weren’t expecting such a high standard of food but the standard was so good we had to go back. The Chicken was one of the best I have had. So tasty. Bright green sauce which was amazing. The desserts and starters were equally good. We had a quick chat with the chef and both him and the staff were very attentive.

20/01/2026: Small, typically French restaurant with outdoor seating, serving regional dishes. The food is excellent, the staff are smiling and friendly. The menu is only available in French, English, and Spanish. Four of us ordered four dishes with sides, and drank water from a carafe. Spent 93 euros.

12/11/2025: Passing through for one night. In the heart of the village and on a hillside, offering a magnificent, unobstructed view. Impeccable and spacious room. Excellent meal, with well-prepared homemade dishes and elegant presentation, all served in a superb dining room (a converted former wine cellar). Generous and varied breakfast.

09/11/2025: It was a real pleasure to return to this place and find a large room with exposed stone walls and an extremely clean and welcoming bathroom, just like the owner or his employees during the delicious evening meal.

22/10/2025: Such an amazing experience. Liz and Joe were the most gracious hosts and treated my partner and I exceptionally. With an incredibly informative tour, exceptional food and world class wine. Anything written in this review doesn't do the evening we spent with them enough credit to an unforgettable night and lovley people. If we ever have the opportunity of being in the region again, we will be returning.

24/09/2025: Winery visit: it is impossible to overstate the warmth of hospitality of Joe and Liz! We arrived as strangers, and left feeling like family. The winery tour was everything we could have hoped for: starting with a chilled glass of white on the terrace overlooking the hills, tasting grapes on the vine about to be harvested, a tour of the equipment, pouring wines straight from the tank and dipping a cask, with Joe telling anecdotes about the history as well as explaining how it’s done. Finally Liz’s amazing and generous cooking in their beautiful dining room, including her home-cured salmon. She even tweaked the menu to ensure that our young Asian friends got a home-cooked rice dish. Convivial doesn’t begin to describe it. Thankfully, Liz also arranged with our taxi driver to come back rather later than originally planned 😂. Practical note: it’s about 20 minutes drive from Carcassonne and they can recommend taxi drivers.

08/02/2026: A very warm welcome. Dog friendly, 100% accepted. We were able to have lunch with our furry friends; the meal was generous, fresh, and beautifully presented with special attention to detail. Highly recommended.
