07/07/2026: We were in Carcassonne for 3 nights recently. Our first night, we picked a place at random and were very disappointed with the quality of the food, however on our 2nd night we ate at Table d'Alais which I had researched before coming and had pre-booked. We were not disappointed. There are several levels of fixed price menu to choose from, as well as à la carte, varying from 26€ to €79 and, whilst the menu is small in options, what there is, is delicious. I had a cold veloute mise en bouche , octopus for my main course which came with a jet black cushion of potato coloured with squid ink - never seen anything like it before and it was intriguing. The octopus was perfectly cooked and the potato was creamy with hidden lardons of bacon, and a perfectly presented dessert. My friends had veal which was served pink and was lovely, and risotto, was was tasty, but could have been warmer. The staff were efficient and allowed us to taste a few wines before committing to one we liked (not something offered everywhere) and the bill, including a decent tip came to €180 for us all - very reasonable for high quality food, wine and service. The dining space is quite small, but is air conditioned, making it a very pleasant experience overall. If you like elegant dining, then I recommend Table d'Alais to you.

02/07/2026: We came to enjoy half a dozen oysters as a family. A very warm welcome, oysters of exceptional quality, and for those who don't like oysters, there are mussels and shrimp. You can also buy and take away. Perfect, and we'll definitely be back! 😉 And thank you for the carafe of fresh water.

30/06/2026: BEWARE!!! We ordered 12 oysters and one was dead with a very unpleasant smell. We told the waitress, who very politely went to tell the manager/owner... to our surprise, she looked at her and made a face and gestures that suggested... they're tourists.... I will never go back to that place. There are other restaurants to choose from. I didn't complain to ask for anything in return, just so they would know, because it's my money and I decide how I spend it.... And I won't be going back to that place.

19/04/2026: A great place to stop if you're passing through Capendu. The welcome was professional, and we were seated on a lovely shaded terrace. The €27 set menu for a starter, main course, and dessert is reasonable, especially considering it was a Sunday. The quality is excellent, and the service is prompt and efficient. We had a great time. Worth discovering.

19/04/2026: As always, a top-notch experience. It goes without saying that everything is homemade. You can see and taste it. The updated menu has some real gems. The slow-cooked pork confit with tagine-style vegetables, followed by the light pavlova for dessert, is a true delight. The icing on the cake is a new offering of sharing plates, which we tried with our aperitifs. Worthy successors to Venetian chiccetti, but in a generous portion, they are a feast for both the eyes and the palate. We'll be back!

18/04/2026: When you arrive in Lagrasse, look for the Hostellerie des Corbières! You'll eat such delicious and refined dishes that you'll feel like you're traveling again! The best in the village!!

19/05/2026: A 500 year old chateau/castle, with spiral stairs up the towers, stone walls in your room, and other fantastic ancient charm. Staff goes above and beyond to help everyone with requests. Fine dining restaurant on site and kudos to the chef for great meals every meal. Chateau is alongside a rapid stream and across from a petonque court, where locals gather. The sleepy village is charming with nice hill views.

18/05/2026: A fantastic renovation of a wonderful building. Food excellent and rooms also. An extremely relaxing place.

20/07/2026: We stopped for breakfast before heading to the beach. The welcome was fantastic, the pastries were excellent, and it was very clean. I highly recommend it.

08/07/2026: My favorite bakery in Castelnaudary! ❤️ The selection of breads is excellent, with high-quality and truly delicious products. As a naturopath, I often recommend this bakery to my clients when we're discussing choosing good bread, because I know they'll find quality products there. The welcome is always warm, the selection is varied, and everything looks tempting. Special mention for the cinnamon buns… they are simply incredible! An address I recommend without hesitation.

21/06/2026: L'Odalisque is a great little restaurant in the heart of Limoux. The restaurant serves delicious and beautifully presented food, which together with the friendly staff makes a visit here a good experience. The various menus give you absolutely value for money.

07/06/2026: Take a break in the charming village of Lagrasse and stop for a meal at the Café de la Promenade brasserie – you won't be disappointed. A warm welcome, a great atmosphere, generous portions, and reasonable prices await you. A must-try!

06/06/2026: A really nice place to enjoy a delicious meal or have a drink on the terrace. Friendly ladies among the staff or owners. Cozy cafe-restaurant with a nice and pleasant terrace. Highly recommended to visit on a Saturday, as there is a market on that day in the picturesque village of Larasse.

16/06/2026: The service is very fast. The menu is varied and homemade. I recommend the razor clams as a starter. They are delicious.

07/07/2026: The pizza was great, but my wife's meal (creamy chicken) was greasy and the potatoes were burnt. The service was incredibly slow, and when we asked for the bill and my wife inquired at the restaurant, someone else (a familiar customer) came after her. My wife was left standing there while the other waiter served her first.
