18/08/2026: Beautiful setting amidst the vineyards. Friendly staff. Good food, but not exceptional. The bread could be improved.

13/08/2026: We had a truly lovely, timeless lunch. Everything was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful experience. As the day was particularly hot, the terrace was inevitably a little difficult to bear in the heatwave. Perhaps adding one or two fans would make it even more comfortable on warmer days. But this is a very minor detail that doesn't detract at all from the quality of this delightful lunch, which we truly enjoyed. A truly lovely interlude!

02/09/2026: A beautiful vaulted room in Bordeaux stone, quite pleasant for a romantic evening, without feeling crowded. I remain somewhat ambivalent about the rest, given my expectations for this establishment, which has been renowned for many years. The €73 menu included a glass of champagne and two glasses of wine. To put it simply, that's equivalent to €50 for the food alone, for a five-course "substantial" meal. So, it's above average for the evening, for the advertised category. There was no "wow" factor on the plate, beyond the quality of the ingredients used. Finally, for this category, two things were bothersome: having to keep your cutlery (except for desserts, of course) and the limescale stains on the water carafe/glasses. I should point out, however, that the chef is alone at the stove (open kitchen) with one person serving. Everything is therefore managed very efficiently, in my opinion.

29/08/2026: We had a wonderful time, a truly enchanting interlude! The chef delighted us from beginning to end. The quality of the local produce, enhanced by the chef (without any unnecessary showmanship), transported us. Finally, we were able to chat with the chef at the end of the meal, the perfect ending to a beautiful culinary experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant, which for me embodies the art of French cuisine!

18/07/2026: L'Olivier, located in Ares, is a French restaurant. The exterior, composed of green plants and a calm facade, features a well-maintained entrance that hints at what awaits inside. But it is upon entering that the setting truly comes alive, with its refined decor and high ceilings that create a genuine sense of elegance.

12/09/2026: The matcha was excellent and the atmosphere was cozy; they even let me bring my little dog. However, some of the baristas were quite unfriendly.

09/09/2026: A good place to enjoy a delicious brunch. We especially enjoyed the ginger latte, which had a distinctive and pronounced flavor. It was one of the house specialties, worth trying.

23/08/2026: Restaurant right on the water, superb decor and view, the food is outstanding. I recommend the ribeye steak with fries and veal jus – a delight! The staff is incredibly attentive. 20/09/2026: Is it the BEST food? No but its pretty lovely! We came back twice and the atmosphere and the French onion soup were lovely. We saw the recommendation on reddit and with an overwhelming choice of options we found this place to be great. I had both the pork bites and casserole and enjoyed both thoroughly!

08/08/2026: There were four of us for lunch, and we had a reservation. When we arrived, the welcome was very cold; the staff didn't smile, which was uninviting. As for the food, it's typical brasserie fare, so don't expect anything fancy. That day, the foie gras was mediocre, and the Chinese noodles were honestly awful. We were all disappointed with what was on our plates. So we didn't order dessert and left. It's a very noisy place, very much like a cafeteria. The staff should learn to smile.

13/09/2026: We chose this restaurant based on positive reviews. Once we ordered, we selected appetizers accompanied by periwinkles. These turned out to be tasteless. No salt, no pepper, nothing. For the starters: oysters and stuffed shellfish, which we began to eat, without the bread, the bottle of sparkling water, or the white wine we had ordered, despite asking twice. Everything arrived after we had finished our plates and very reluctantly! The sauce from the shellfish was so overpowering that we wondered what we were eating. Next up... fish with aioli sauce. The cooking was perfect, but we were searching for the sauce... Again, we had to flag down a member of staff. Sure enough, it was an oversight, yet another one. We were brought two paper ramekins of sauce with a snicker and a tasteless joke (much like the shellfish)... Given how the meal had gone, we didn't order dessert or coffee. The bill was outrageous (more so than the periwinkles!!) €108 for two people and absolutely terrible service.
