17/05/2026: Hotel in a beautiful setting, easily accessible. Very welcoming and professional staff. Spotless room, bar and restaurant too. The only slight drawback was the late opening time of the pool and hammam, which meant we couldn't use them on our 11:00 am departure day.

12/10/2026: We always receive a warm welcome from the Palanques team. The lunch menu is very appealing. The team catered our family meal this summer. Everything was well organized, even the little water bowl for the dog. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a wonderful time.

02/10/2026: Absolument wonderful restaurant with amazing food and wine. In a side street of a main square in Bordeaux. The set menu is something else and the portion are spot on, not to big not too small. If it’s on the menu the fish cake is the best souffles.

The lunch menu is excellent value for money: homemade, seasonal cuisine, varied and updated according to what's fresh at the market. Good to know: it's best to book ahead on days when the school cafeteria is closed!

The food was fresh and of excellent quality, enhanced by the chef and his entire team. We would be delighted to return, perhaps in the evening, to explore the menu more thoroughly. 20/05/2026: An exceptional starter: beef tartare with horseradish mayonnaise and a Gillardeau oyster. A real treat. And everything else was just as good and meticulously prepared. The dishes, the desserts, the service—everything was impeccable.

31/08/2026: Incredible dining experience for lunch, with amazing service, food, ambiance and wine list. We did the three course lunch menu, which also was accompanied by a set of starters from the chef and sweets to close out this magical afternoon. The staff was on point, attentive and very well organized throughout our dining experience. Highly recommended!

22/05/2026: The standout meal of a Bordeaux trip that included several more decorated kitchens. Chef Thibaut Gamba's style is delicate and seasonal — the white asparagus with morels and nasturtium read like a thesis on what Gironde produce can do in May, and the lamb course (rare, layered, with a sabayon and broad beans) was the kind of plate where each element earned its place. The amuse-bouche and pre-dessert were equally considered — no filler, no flourish for its own sake. Service was precise without theatre, attentive without hovering. The room — wisteria pergola outside, the plush dining room inside the 1848 building — is the kind of setting other Saint-Émilion restaurants are trying to imitate. We came with our own bottles and the team accommodated graciously, glassware and pacing handled as if it were their own list. One star feels underrated - this is where you want to eat.
